Performance Highlights

Top 4 - 08 / 05 / 09

Evan performed two jazz dances, a pop jazz number, the jive, and a solo in his own style. Adam Shankman told Evan, "What you do, you do unbelievably great," and Mary appreciated that he breathes life into the somewhat forgotten Broadway style.

Top 6 - 07 / 29 / 09

Evan performed a Broadway routine and the Quickstep with Melissa, a solo in his own style, and a jazz routine with the guys. Nigel said that Evan "stood out tonight because I've never seen him attempt stuff like this."

Top 8 - 07 / 22 / 09

Evan paired up with Janette to take on jazz choreography and a rumba. He also dance a solo in his own style and a group routine. Special guest Ellen DeGeneres said that there's an essence about Evan that makes him special.

Top 10 - 07 / 15 / 09

Evan danced the Viennese Waltz with Kayla, a solo, and an African dance. Although he is shorter than his partner, the judges were impressed with Evan's effortless lifts.

Top 12 - 07 / 08 / 09

Evan danced a hip hop routine and the samba with Randi. Nigel thought Evan had a strong performance, and all of the judges look forward to Evan digging a little deeper into his dances in the future.

Top 14 - 07 / 01 / 09

Evan got his own style of dance this week- Broadway. The judges thought Evan and Randi got into character well, but they expected a little more from Evan since Broadway is his genre.

Top 16 - 06 / 24 / 09

Evan took on a Mia Michaels' contemporary routine with Randi. Mary said she could really see Evan as a leading man after this performance.

Top 18 - 06 / 17 / 09

Evan performed a jive with his partner, Randi. Judge Lil C appreciated their great partnership in the routine, and Mary described them as little powerhouses.

Top 20 - 06 / 10 / 09

Evan performed a jazz routine with his partner, Randi. His performance had Adam Shankman believing that there's no style Evan can't dance.

Las Vegas - 6 / 04 / 09

Evan Kasprzak won over Mia Michaels' heart last season, and this season the rest of the judges fell for his classic Broadway style of dance. As a result, Evan edged out his big brother for the final spot in this season's Top 20.

How old were you when you started dancing?
I started dancing when I was 6.
Do you have any formal dance training?
Yes, primarily in jazz and tap, but the basics in everything but ballroom. I spent most of my growing up years training at Juliana’s Academy of Dance.
If you had to categorize your dance style, what would it be?
Broadway
What other talents/hobbies do you have?
I love cars! I built my own car my senior year in high school. I also like rock climbing, skiing, and when there is time I enjoy cooking.
Who is your favorite professional dancer?
No doubt, Gene Kelly.
Does anyone in your family dance professionally?
My brother, Ryan.
Have you performed in musical theater or in public functions as a dancer?
Yes, many times with the Groves PAC, the Broadway Theatre Project and most recently at Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts.
What would you like to see happen to you as a result of the show?
I would love the opportunity to work professionally on stage and in film.
Where would you like to be in 10 years and what would you like to be doing?
I would like to be in New York performing in a musical choreographed by my brother. I would also like to impact the resurgence of the classical MGM style movie musical.
What has been your most memorable dance experience?
It was at the Broadway Theatre Project performing in a Gregory Hines tribute with Mr. Hines' family in the audience.
What have you learned so far in going through the audition process for this show?
To always expect the unexpected.
What are your favorite dance moments from movies, TV and/or stage?
I love "Make 'Em Laugh" and "Moses Supposes" from Singin' in the Rain.
Which choreographers would you like to work with?
I hope I have the opportunity to work with Andy Blankenbuehler and Mia Michaels.
