He came to national attention when he was cast in the lead role of "Sam Weir" in the critically acclaimed Judd Apatow-produced television series "Freaks and Geeks" alongside Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jason Segel.

Following "Freaks and Geeks," Daley landed roles on several television series, including "The Geena Davis Show," "The Kennedys," "Regular Joe" and "Kitchen Confidential." In 2007, Daley and his writing partner, Jonathan Goldstein, sold their first screenplay, "The $40,000 Man," and have since sold five more films to major studios. Earlier this year, the pair was hired to pen the reboot of "Vacation," the 1983 classic starring Chevy Chase. Most recently, they wrote  the film "Horrible Bosses." A box office success this past summer, "Horrible Bosses" stars Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Jason Bateman and Colin Farrell. In addition to writing the script, Daley plays a cameo role in the film.

Daley plays keyboard, sings and writes music for Dayplayer, a band that plays regularly throughout Southern California and appeared in the Season Four finale of BONES. Dayplayer plans to release an album later this year.
