Josh recently sat down with Jami at Comic Book Resources and talked up the finale, “We did a weird thing in the office the last day when all of the writers were there. We had all our episodes up on the white-board, one-liners for all twenty-two episodes. We said we would pass around an eraser and erase our worst episodes until we arrive at the last one and that would be our best. So first I erased Dessert Cantos and then we went from there. We went around and around and eventually had three or four Writers Room favorite episodes. We stopped and looked and we realized that they were almost all our final season two episodes. The final two episodes were the writers’ favorite episodes of the year. I think the last three episodes of the season were in the final three or four.”

And our really cool friends at Io9 point out a report by the Hollywood Reporter that lists us as the only non-huge-hit on the list of “most pirated television shows of the week” (not that we at all condone that type of viewing!).

Oh, and why not one more from Io9 — that Charlie Jane sure takes care of us. Check out their guide to “Everything You Need to Know Before the End of Sarah Connor.” Jeez, I hope it’s not the end.

As we approach the season finale, just wanted to take a moment to point out some of our most dedicated fans — the folks behind the SkyNext Podcast. Check it out if you haven’t already!

Oh and also, Io9 got Josh to break down some of his philosophies behind Sarah Connor — a great read if you haven’t already.

Hey did you catch the Io9 piece where they tell us why it’s “the best year to be a Terminator fan?” We couldn’t agree more. Also, thanks!

Once again, I’m hear to sing the praises of tonight’s all-new episode Adam Raised a Cain. It’s an intense one that’s filled with action, intrigue, intelligence, and evolution. I didn’t stare you wrong with Today is the Day - Part 2, did I? Well, I don’t here either. Adam Raised a Cain is sure to set the fanbase on fire, and with only one episode remaining this season, it’ll set the stakes for what’s to come in the big finale.

Stop back here after and discuss with your fellow Chroniclers!

friedman is “wired” in reality.

Showrunner Josh Friedman recently spoke to Wired Magazine about grounding The Sarah Connor Chronicles in reality and the real relationships that anchor the series.

“…before I could actually start writing the show, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I had to have an operation to remove the tumor, which meant I couldn’t write it for that season. So I had a couple of months when I couldn’t do anything, and I was in pain. I had this crisis — I went to a therapist, and I said, ‘What am I doing? I’m going to write a fucking show about a scary robot? Who cares?’ But when she calmed me down, I started reflecting upon it, and I realized that this show really was about my life. It was about mortality. The first voiceover I ever wrote for the series started with ‘I will die. I will die, and so will you. Death gives no man a pass.’ That’s what the Terminators are — they’re death coming to get us.”

Meanwhile, he had this to say this morning about the ongoing visual FX development: “Man-oh-man-oh-shevitz…” (which was apparently him quoting an Ellroy novel he just informed me).

The LA Times recently profiled Garret and talked with him about his love for the series and his new film, The Last House on the Left.

There’s been lots of coverage on Shirley’s recent gig hosting an interview with Bono and the boys from U2. The Chicago Tribune blogged about it. Our Weaverbot also spoke with a few sites like Chron.com and Digital Spy about her big transition from music into acting.

We’ve got another great friend in io9 who previews tonight’s all-new episode, The Good Wound. Charlie Jane Anders deems it another “solid episode of the show that keeps going where no movie spinoff has gone before. It’s still finding new places to take its robots-from-the-future premise, and new ways to reference James Cameron’s original films. And it’s still filling me with a cautious optimism that this is all going someplace really interesting.” It is.

Meanwhile, the man behind those great cast interviews at TV Guide, Matt Mitovich, sits down with Kyle Reese, Jonathan Jackson to talk about his return to the series tonight.

The always awesome TVAddict follows up his sit down with Thomas with a great interview with Richard T. Jones. It seems like those two are already planning their big push for that Ellison/Sarah romance Richard’s so keen on…

Brian Ford Sullivan continues to rock it and support the series over at The Futon Critic with a sit down with Thomas and another autographed poster giveaway.

Big thanks to our friends at TV Guide for the great interviews with Garret, Richard, and Shirley, as well as all the kudos on their site. Make sure to check them out before tonight’s big show.

Sarahjane Blum at The Brooklyn Rail recently wrote a very complimentary piece on T:SCC, saying that the “Sarah Connor Chronicles has begun to emerge as a positive voice for marginalized communities ranging from the autistic to transgendered forms a powerful argument for the revolutionary possibilities of a cyborg culture.” Thanks Sarahjane and make sure to check out her whole article, “Not Like Ours,” online.

Josh and Summer participated in a conference call yesterday to talk about our big spring premiere and the back nine episodes. Here’s a little compilation of highlights from the conversation…

SciFi Wire reports that Summer was “shocked” by the season finale script. Meanwhile, Io9 reports back that Josh would love to introduce the character of the engineer that built the bank vault time machine at some point — “but not in the second season.” Check out both articles for some good scoop.
