Our march towards the season finale continued tonight with To the Lighthouse. Talk about it with your fellow Chroniclers (and probably Zack) right here after it airs.

  1. I’m hoping John gets to fire off a few rounds, and bark out some orders in tonights episode.

Hopefully, John has finally turn the corner, and is ready to take full responsiblity for his fate. We said the same thing after Samon and Delilah, Goodbye to All That, and in Mr Ferguson is ill today. But, it wasn’t to be. Let’s hope this time, he finally gets it.

  2. 2nd post ahaha Epic win

  3. I hope we see a connor training session

Love to see sarah training john at some point.

Just one of many articles on Digg.com come fans should go and vote on. doing so keeps them high in the raknkings and on the first pages. We’re trying to make sure people that have Nielson boxes see this info, and based on fan enthusiasm, watch the show. I’m sure they’ll like it now…

100-200 of these tranlsates into 1 million increase in Nielson numbers. Seems to be working so far, our fan submissions were #3 in the TV entertainment most dugg section just a short while ago. Our stuff is all over that section.

If/when you do go also leave a comment as Digg ranks these by sheer numbers as well. And check out the related TSCC articles and vote and comment on them too.

The net effect is it looks like TSCC is VERY popular - and we all know people WILL jump on a “winning” bandwagon.

It’s not too late, IMO. Every little bit helps.

Doesn’t take much time, is free and easy to do. Band together, no fate, ya know?

  5. Note: you can find other Digg.com thead links in the last few blog comment’s sections.

  6. Okay…

    “Lighthouse”

  7. i’m ready!

  8. I know she’s not where ya want her on the list, but - I just saw this and thought I’d share:

    http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20152680,00.html?xid=partner-CNNHome-25+butt%2Dkicking+babes

  9. #25??!! Like hell!!

    Ew.com doesn’t know BLEEP!

  10. Okay, the clock is ticking down and we are up to my favorite night of the week…T:SCC NIGHT!!!!! its gearing up towards the finale, and while I am completely absorbed into watching it wind down, I have to admit I have knots in the pit of my stomach wondering if we are going to get a season three….Hey, Josh, have you heard anything yet? Just thought I would ask. You guys do such an outstanding job on this show that I am in awe, and I’m not much of a TV watcher. This show has pulled me back. Please, keep us appraised if you hear anything, Josh?!? I can’t wait for tonight!!!!!!

  11. Dan. Summer’s the only ass-kicker on that list twice…

  12. FUCK EW!
25 Summer is number 1 in my book

  13. How does Buffy beat out Sigourney Weaver in Aliens? How is Linda Hamilton not #2?

Good thing is Summer is posted twice as River Tam in Firefly and again as Cameron. So she is the only one posted twice in the top 25. That’s cool, but no way Cam gets so low: who else has blown the brains of a friend all over the face of Sarah Conners, at point blank range and without prior notice? Who else shot a dude because he stole her “tight” leather jacket?

  14. I don’t know what to say…

    http://www.fmqinc.com/terminator-cancelled/

  15. I know coach, what a babe!!

  16. Buffy should be waaaaaay down there!

Sigourney Weaver should be in the Top 5 (I’d say #2 myself), definitely! Ripley started it all! Summer should be #1 with a bullet, as they say.

  17. 13 minutes :D

  18. 41 minutes… no, make that 40…

  19. Inter’act music while we wait…

    Fleetwood Mac: “Go Insane” (Live)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRf-nHH_63g

    Enjoy!

  20. Dan, I wish you’d do that from a music perspective on Digg.com

My TSCC article is now #1 in the TV Entertainment Most Diggs section; it’s #6 on the entertainment main page.

I’m sure you could create some interest in that direction. Here, you’re preaching to the choir. We need to go out and find some NEW blooed, do we not?

  21. great episode! a lot of things happen with John Henry, and its sad what happened to charlie

  22. Some bath right guys…..
    haha

  23. Uh, phil, for some us that live on the left coast, we’d like to KNOW wth is going on! But my gf just punched me so I need to stop typing and go feed in order to get back in time for the show…

  24. Just got home so I missed the show. How soon can I watch it online? I can hardly wait! Thanks.

  25. I kept wondering what was the point, when is something going to happen? I guess they saved it all up for the last 15 minutes.

  26. i robot, u jane

okay, what model is Cameron who can reboot in less than 60 seconds? awesome though. sad about Charlie, though I kinda saw it coming. and something about someones brother knowing how to take down a Terminator? i’m SO ready for the last two episodes!

  27. Interesting about the “brother” comment, given the conversation with John Henry. The T-800’s don’t seem to know what kind of cyborg Cameron is, but one of the “brothers” apparently has the schematics… in the present …wherever that information came from

  28. Great episode. Would have liked to have seen more conversation between Derrick and Cameron - they have an interesting dynamic. I liked how Cameron told Derrick about Jessie’s miscarriage for no other purpose but to manipulate - “now you know what it’s like to loose a child”. She really can be ruthless at times, which is easy to forget due to her occassionally show of human traits.

  29. Wow. I’m constantly amazed at how much they can cram into one ep. Amazing performances, once again. Lena is awesome.

  30. Chris “Coach K” Kincey, this blog post is to talk about the episode…. if you haven’t watched it yet then you shouldn’t be reading this…

  31. I liked it. Not one of my favourites, but I liked it. The John-Henry stuff was great, Cameron saving Derek (And her last comment?? Could that possibly be about “The Basement”?? Hmmm), Charley *sob*.

  32. Summer is the new Sarah Michelle Gellar! On that list twice? Love you Summer!

This episode was a bit out there for me. Don’t get me wrong, loved the violence, love the Charley and John scenes, loved the Sarah and boy John scenes, loved pretty much everything about it but some of their conversations about people and fate and deeper meaning left me a little confused. I usually have to watch an episode two or three times before I finally get a handle on it.

I had a hunch that Sarah was being tracked and that was why she used the paddles to shock herself in the spoiler vid, I remember a character from some other book or show or movie doing the same thing to fry a chip.

Oh my God the world is ending because Derek did NOT just say thank you to Cameron! And Cameron survives the 120 reboot time? How? She was up before two minutes had gone by. We know she saw the guy throwing the (cables?) at her, so she knew what was about to be electrocuted but how did she survive it. When she was adding the explosives around her chip did she also somehow make it so she’s “shock proof”? It would make sense especially since in doing so she also had to make sure John could easily destroy her if she went rogue. Without the reboot thing that could get complicated. So give him an idiot proof kill switch while at the same time upgrading herself to survive electric shocks in case some badguy tries to kill her like that (as this episode proved).

    I love you Summer!

  33. John Henry’s confrontation with the other computer reminds me of the short story by A. E. van Vogt called “Fulfillment.”

  34. Ya it is interesting I robot, u jane that Cameron booted up so fast. I wonder if that was an accident or something really interesting is going one with Cameron. It could be a side effect of the damage she has suffered. Also, it is too bad about Charlie it seems that John’s support network is slowly being chipped away. That can’t be good.

On another thing Summer has more action coolness in her little finger than Sarah Michelle Gellar has in her whole body.

  35. Not liking having the dog killed in tonight’s episode. There could have been no dog or he could have jumped in the boat w/John or he could have just not been killed. I don’t buy that he turned into some sort of vicious monster attacking the bad guys who then shot him. Stupid!

  36. The dog was just napping.

  37. booo why kill off charlie!!!! the rest of the episode was ok, charlie was always a cool character though im pissed. it seemed like they had to much going on this ep, john henry, jungle flashback, charlie sarah and john, and cameron and dereks stories

  38. Great episode. I predicted we’d hear the name Cyberdyne again and we did. I wondered if Calibar was Cyberdyne in disguise but I never figured it was a front owned and operated by Skynet 1.0. Did Weaver know about Skynet 1.0 all along? After all she was in business with Calibar through DH&A. Or is this confirmation that there are two competing Skynets in the future?

RIP Charlie you were a number one dude.

  39. Great episode guys….loved it. Lena and Dean scenes were awesome. Loved the Bug Slug scene. Poor dog though!

  40. Okay, I get it. You guys are ruthless and realistic. You can kill of whoever you want.
Just- please don’t, anymore. I’m so sad for poor Charlie. And Jesse, and Riley, and Andy, and Sherman. Really now.

  41. Yes, poor dog probably just defending Charlie. And poor John… of all the people to have to watch die ten feet in front of you whilst trying to protect you…

  42. The dog was killed, because he was most likely barking at a T-888.

Man, I don’t blame anyone who rather watch this show on Hulu than live. The commerical breaks are brutal. It completely takes you out of the episode. I could have done with less set up at the lighthouse. The whole pancake scene could have been cut in favor of more Cameron and Derek action sequences.

  43. There were no T-888s, those guys were all human. Humans apparently in touch with John Henry or Skynet or both.

  44. This Episode was more talking than action. I mean of coarse the Cameron, and Derek scenes were full of action but they were not long at all. p.s. congrats to Cameron for killing that guy before he killed her. But I did enjoy Sarah’s quick problem solving skills by shocking herself in order to deactivate the tracking device. All in all I enjoyed this episode ,but it could have had a little more jameron and action.

  45. Yet another AWESOME episode!!

Poor Charley.. I knew he was going to die but seeing him just lying there in the water was really really sad.. D:

Alright, so what the hell is up with these water delivery people? And the whole worm in John Henry’s systems? The water delivery people and the worm must be connected.. The backdoor and worm must have been what Fisher was up to in Complications? I call Skynet related- especially with cyberdyne systems coming up in John Henry’s search.. So does this mean that Weaver is not apart of Skynet and is working for someone else? But who?
    Geesh, so many questions..

Aww.. I felt bad for Sarah, the way she thought she had cancer D:
Wow, I didn’t even think about them implanting something in her. That’s really creepy.. *shivers*
Oh, and Sarah gets major points for shocking herself to stop the signal, she’s so beast.

The ending of this episode was really amazing, the way everything kicked in. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was flipping out when the guy tried to take Cameron’s chip out.. thank goodness she rebooted in time. Her chips already gone through enough, we dont need crazy water delivery people taking it. xD

So, now we know what went on in that basement. Derek was being tortured for information on John Connor’s location. Hmm..

I really enjoyed the Derek & Cameron team up in this episode, it was fun to watch. I also liked the car ride with Sarah and John- lol bug slug xD
The Sarah and Charley moments were really touching, as were the Charley and John moments. I missed Charley, he was a really cool character.. Im glad that he went out with a fight and won- John Connor got away. :D

Thank you for another KICKASS episode!
Can’t wait to see who’s behind all of this..
this week’s gonna be really longgg waiting for answers. xD

  46. Awsome epp I loved it, cant wait for next friday

  47. Poor Charlie; and the dog too.

I find how Winston placed a tracker in Sarah to be fascinating. All of those thugs mean a high body count (nice defibrilators to the head Sarah). I really enjoy Cameron/Derek scenes. The relationship between the two is very interesting to say the least. And may I say that JH and his “brother” creates a VERY intriguing storyline. I believe that that “brother” is the same one that the guy Cameron knocked off was talking to. He said he got his source from his “brother.” Time will tell.

    We’ll miss you Charlie.

  48. While Sarah was really tough to use the defribulator on herself she was super bad when she used it on the guy’s head. What would that do in real life? If any posters are doctors or nurses or EMTs, what do you think?

  49. Well, I’m torn on this one. I was REALLY anticipating this one ever since I saw on IMDb that Dean Winters was coming back…. awesome. One of my top five T:SCC characters, believe it or not. I think in season one he was the one living in reality absorbing it all in whereas everyone else already knew the stakes… and the sacrifice. He had to learn it. (Ellison was like that too in season one, which is why I thought all the scenes with Ellison and Charley in season one were pure brilliance.) I didn’t know how they would bring them back or why, but nevertheless, after him having disappeared after the third episode of season two and not coming back until like 17 episodes later… I didn’t care. I just wanted to see the character again… I wanted to see him and Sarah reconnect, and I wanted to see John and him doing the same thing. Talking… confronting…. resolving. Did we get that with this, his LAST episode? Kind of. Sure, Sarah and him had a couple heart-to-hearts ie the scene where she shows him her lump. John and him talked about how Cromartie couldn’t swim and how Charlie would do anything to protect John, just as much as Sarah would. The scene where Sarah told him he was the only person he trusted anymore. Wow, just wow.

But I was hoping for a little more… for them to talk about Cromartie’s death, about Skynet and what they’ve tried to do in his absense. I wanted John and Sarah to console him a little more about his wife… not just say they were sorry. Also the whole thing about them all moving in together was a little awkward as well. Hard to follow exactly what Sarah had in mind… the three of them living together like they did in Nebraska, only John and Charley ’cause Sarah thought she was toast. First they were going to only stay there a couple days… then Sarah tells Charley he may have to take over for her.

But like I said, I did KIND OF get what I wanted… there was certainly alot of Charley Dixon in this episode… but the fact that we’ll never see him again just tears me up inside. RIP Charley Dixon, one of this show’s all-time best characters: fearless, reliable, good fighter.

Oh, and…. time to share with a certain someone all the secrets we know, John Henry.

I was also hoping for a little more on Derek’s would-be baby and a clear answer on whether Jesse’s dead or not… only time will tell.

  50. I’m so sad that Charlie got shot.
I really don’t want Sarah to die, she is my favorite and the only on eyou can really trust. But we all know they have foreshadowed her dieing of cancer so…… so sad.

  51. Phil, I got FIVE whole minutes to go! TORTURE!

  52. As usual, I loved this episode, cant wait till next week! John Henry was such a trip! His scenes were so good, I loved all the computer references to malware, ect. Cameron does walk funny, like a horse or something. I was a little worried Derrek would die next but its all still very possible. So Jesse is dead? I knew Charlie would die, a little sad though, that was real messed up showing his body in the water, didn’t look like him though. For a second I thought John might run away and not come back. I did like the jungle scenes with young John and Sarah esp. when he was hiding and she heard the trigger pull behind her, he’d won the game and she didn’t even start yelling at him or anything but the look on her face when she hugged him is priceless it shows how much she was worried about him. After watching the previews I thought this was an action packed episode. Those tricksters! I was annoyed after 43 minutes of talking, but the drama scenes did give me some clarity. BTW John did love Riley didn’t he? He just wouldn’t say it? But when the action did start BAMM! I sure paid attention then. I was on the edge of my seat when they electricuted Cam, although I thought it took 120 seconds for to boot up, it seemed a lot faster. I tripped out when Cam said “your welcome,” to Derrick, now that was classic. I thought we would find out that Sarah has cancer, but it’s true she does need a biopsy first. Winston injected a metal detector in her breast WTH? I love this show, I need a third season. GOD don’t forsake me. Am I the only one annoyed by the spell check?
    Will this kill me?
    Will this kill me?
    Will this kill me?

  53. Overall, a pretty good episode. Some nice twists, and I’m glad nothing happened to Cameron.

Speaking of, I’m curious how Cam wasn’t knocked out, when a LCD clock dropped her. Did she change something?

  54. Good overall story, but not as punchy “en totale” as Today Is The Day Part 2.

It felt like something that should have been placed a little earlier in the Back 9 as it was mostly set up, again.

And, my God, could the commercials have been placed at worse intervals? Who picks these places? It really threw off the momentum.

Yeah, to seeing some action (for the sake of the numbers), but there was very little of it (again, for the numbers).

I had a hunch that the evil Skynet was speaking through John Henry via the “back door.”

However, having the REAL Skynet here right now… seems a little forced and again smacks of deux ex machina… and T3 with the TX downloading it like a virus into the net without it growing on its own (yuck, how I hate that movie).

I did like the idea about John Henry and the “other” Skynet duking it out, but not the vehicle by which it seems to be happening.

And Kalibra (crap, I don’t think I’m still spelling it right) Group. being run by Skynet… that ties back into the whole how the heck is Skynet in the past… now?

Or is it Weaver’s counterpart trying to create an evil John Henry who has access to all the information necessary, and is calling the shots for Skynet?

It still seems like you’re holding out on the Cameron stuff… and you know that fans want their Cameron fix. A little goes along way, may be your thinking? I don’t think we would agree. I’m speaking for the “majority,” I believe, in this.

Also, having the villain’s van parked and placed so obviously, and Derek and Cameron not putting two and two together that it may be a trap or ambush… it just seemed so out of character for both of them.

I liked seeing Charley and I’m sorry he was killed off in such a manner (and not getting much to do this episode, but to just be there)… and his dog too! Poor mutt!!

God, I just hope this episode had enough meet in it to keep the numbers from falling again from last week. That can’t happen.

And what the hell is up with Fox’s promo saying we’re down to only two episodes remaining??

They never even stated “of the season.” Do they know something we don’t, or is their ad department this bad on purpose?

    Wait… don’t answer that!

    [mad and steaming... at Fox]

The local Fox affiliate station was glitching up a storm, so I’ll have to wait and watch this episode again on-line before I can start going into plot specifics and start pulling things apart. The DVR recording will be crap, of course!! Sh#t!

  55. EDIT BUTTON: “Meat” not “meet.”

    Jeez.

  56. Felt slow in the middle, patience allowed it to pay off..
    - Poor dog.
    - Derek and Cam, nothing like shared suffering during battle to bring two people together.
    - Sarah, she’s tough.
    - Greys.
    - Last but definitely not least, John Henry and “brother” (the real Skynet?) excellent way to tie them together.

  57. NO JAMERON YEAH !

I loved the episode. Love the lack of Jameron.

  58. Seeing as how BAG has signed on to another show on the CW this Fall, one can only imagine that Derek will be going bye-bye too.

  59. @No Jameron Yeah!

Can’t agree with you there, buddy or budd-ette. Don’t get me worked up, now!

    LOL!

  60. I have to say, this episode is not as good as expected,
yes the john henry scenes are good, derek and cameron scenses are (ok) , but the long narrative parts , and the even longer way to tell charlie about the cancer (which turned out otherwise ) .
    this episode was good but??
extended scenes for short (idea) and slow motion fight scenes with minimal action?
i’d say that this episde ran out of budget so quickly .
its good , but not as exciting as (season 2 ep 8? for example ) and just because we have a finale this not an excuse to leave all the concentration to the end.??
the number of commercials is going down? ratings are down? this is not encouraging ??
if the show was secured to have a 3rd season then i’d not negotiate with this episode, but this episode only counts on us to watch it (fans only) .
maybe i wouldnt feel bad about it if i knew that there will be season 3.

    i’m worried , that’s all..

  61. Alright it’s time to ask, when will all the teasing stop?

John and Cameron are going to hook up eventually, only a matter of time. For a show that loves to leave us drowning in torture from all the drama the idea of the boy destined to defeat a machine army falling in love with the machine once sent to kill him is just too juicy to ignore. It’d be like visiting China without trying the Chinese food. Or summitting Mt. Everest and deciding not to take a picture. Or like going into outer space and choosing not to look out the window.

It’s there! From a writer’s standpoint it’s ridiculous not to use it as a device for adding drama and angst and romance to this type of show. Josh knows this and the only reason he hasn’t “popped the champagne” is because he’s looking for something really big to use it in. But man the suspence is killing.

So enough with the awkward moments, enough with the fleeting glances, enough with “what will the others think?” Just do what makes you happy and remember to book a room before you do it!

    RIP Charley

  62. So we have another system out there, based on the Cyberdyne codebase, implating worms throughout the world’s systems and causing radio interference, developing HK drones and expressing a desire to survive.

    It is a mystery.

  63. How does Cameron know about Jesse’s pregnancy and where the frak did Cyberdyne come from?

If I was paranoid, I’d assume the show was getting a lobotomy (multiple timelines erased) and a quick shot of continuity with Terminator Salvation (Cyberdyne), either to improve its chances for a third season or just to promote McG’s oeuvre.

    WTF?

  64. Ok, can anyone explain what that Cyberdyne thing is ? Who are those people ?

  65. Gotta admit I didn’t enjoy this a whole lot, other than the last few mins, and some of the john Henry stuff.

Still, I watched it twice. One thing I didn’t pick up on the first time was that Derek is starting to trust Cameron now. Verbally thanking her for telling him the truth about his miscarried baby isn’t a small thing for him to do.

Man, I cant believe there’s only 2 left. Please get renewed. Regardless of what I thought of this ep, I hope you casual viewer disagrees and the ratings start to go up. At least reach 4 mil.

  66. Fanshawe,

Cyberdyne via Miles Dyson and his team made the first Skynet out of the chip and endo-arm from the first Terminator in T1. The brother of John Henry is Skynet… the evil one. The devil.

How he got to the present again… is still to be solved. All I can think of right now is another Terminator brought Skynet along in its programming and is as advanced as Weaver. The West Wing dude (Richard Schiff) was a human, an underling… also sent to do Skynet’s bidding. It found out about Weaver coming back to create a different AI, and sent it’s own emissary back to form Kalibra to combat it.

JH is based off The Turk, which is not Cyberdyne System’s Skynet.

Cam knows about the pregnancy from The Future. She was with Jesse debriefing her about the sub. They found that she had miscarried. Cam said she was sorry for her loss. And said it to Derek as well.

  67. Future Skynet 1.0 may know it existed before and after the Cyberdyne building was blown up in T2. What computer company wouldn’t have a back up copy of a major software project they were working on at a remote location? Major companies usually have disaster plans for their data processing. Why not Cyberdyne?

  68. @Czarfore,

But it wouldn’t know all about Cameron and all about John Henry. It would have to be Skynet from the Future for it to know all.

How it got here, now… is still fuzzy as far as the story goes.

  69. I’ll say it again. Out of the the entire show Cameron didn’t even make up 5 minutes of screen time. I’m getting sick of this B.S. The show was good but it would be great if you’d write the main character into it. You lied to us Josh. There isn’t near enough Cameron in these final eps. If this is your idea of fun by screwing with your fans then you must want to get cancelled.

You have very talented writers. I bet if you had asked them they could have figured out how to put Summer into the show. There are a number of fans who want to see their favorite character. Screwing with people is not going to endear your fans to you.

  70. Nice episode … poor Charley! :(

fanshawe, where have you been? Go back and watch it all again.

The wait in between Fridays seems to get longer and longer the closer we get to the end of the season.
I have like a new set of 40 questions in my mind after each ep lately.
Good job keeping me on the edge of my seat (~_^)

  71. umm, Snake. Go back and look at the title…
    Who’s the main character?

    Anyway, I liked it *shrug*

  72. It is sad that Charlie is gone; what a great character. JH’s incident is quite interesting. I look forward to see how all of this pans out. I hope that there is a season 3.

  73. the TERMINATOR is just as much a main character as Sarah.

  74. Oh and I have to say I’m glad Sarah doesn’t have cancer cuz man wouldn’t that mess up things for the series.
I’ve been waiting for that issue to come up since she ran through that room at the plant w/ the radiation warning w/out a protective many episodes back.

  75. Didn’t do much for me, if this is the march to seasons end, they either need to start marching faster, or apparently I need to start lowering my expectations. The last 10 minutes was the best and seeing the Cam/Derek dynamic change I liked. Didn’t like
loosing Charley. At 8:40pm I had my usual “get a move on, enough drama already” angst. Would have been nice if Cam had a few scuffles to get to Derek instead of the time eating flashback jungle scenes, they added very little except that someone on the writing staff is very fond of the hide n seek theme.

  76. What an awesome ep! The perfect mix of quiet, heart rendering scenes and kick ass action! I had tears in my eyes with the scenes in between Lena and Dean - dang it Lena, stop making me cry! :)

Oh god, all the threads are coming together! Who’s behind the other AI? Who did the implants?

Only two more eps left! God, I can’t take the suspense!

  77. @Dan Hitchman

It knows all about John Henry and the connected T-888 from when it gained backdoor entry. We saw it scanning the schematics when it infiltrated and it even stated the information came from its brother.

The Skynet project was probably taken over by the military, maybe even being headed up by Brewster in this timeline too.

The similarity in the Turk and Cyberdyne codebase are dubtless due to the same author, Andy Goode, working on both projects.

  78. I agree Robert. Way too much of this season has been filler. When you have sub characters like Riley and Jessie getting more screen time than one of the favorite main characters then something is very very wrong. Sorry to rant guys but I’ve been very patient and with only two episodes left I can expect nothing but disappointment from the rest of the season. I wait for this hour every week and every week we just get strung along. I feel like a total sucker.

  79. Song for the Episode: “Less Is More”, a song by Joss Stone from the album Mind, Body & Soul

For the Historians: “Less is More” is a quote from Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, architect and leader of the Bauhaus movement in Germany, subsequently taken as a motto for minimalist design.

    Yeah I’m feeling it!!!!!

  80. Yeah, I too am worried what this episode will do to the ratings game in the scheme of things. It was another set up for yet another future episode, for the most part. We’ve had a lot of those this season. Sluggish progression.

The tension should be building and building and building and building and then EXPLODE!!!

You bring the audience along for a wild ride. It’s going to have to be wild for Season 3 to survive, if we get one.

And like Snake said: Where’s Cameron?

It could be like a new Where’s Waldo? game! If you can spot Cameron, then you’re really lucky. LOL! ;)

Maybe by keeping things down to Cameron, John, and Sarah in S3 as the main characters, the writing team can focus like a laser, and we won’t be left for the wanting.

  81. I really liked this episode… I loved it was 10 minutes. I find that the end came abruptly (with the death of Charley, RIP Charley).

I particularly liked the explanation of John Henry on the attack. Like many, who have seen the preview, I suspected it was another AI that attacked. Suspicions confirmed.
Also, I was not surprised to learn that Caliba Group was not related to Catherine Weaver. She learned the existence of the warehouse in the desert because John Henry intercepted a transmission.
I guess, she apparently took control of Serano Point (in Automatic for the people) and of 85% of the world reserve of Coltan to prepare for an eventual conflict with Skynet. One question remains: when did the source code was copied and by who? Is it Fisher that bring back some code in his head? He managed to open a back door in the defense system after all…

Well, it presages a lot of action if there is a third season! Hooray! :)

However, one thing disappoints me a bit in this episode: the scenes with Derek and Cameron. I think they were too easily caught by Caliba’s minions. Why not torture the guy who wanted to extract the chip from Cameron? Why not keep his phone… a phone that was in direct contact with the brother of JH (clearly, this was the diagram of the T888 that flew through the back door)?

In general, it was a good episode but not as great as Today is the Day part 2.

  82. I just got done watching the entire episode in reverse, I feel much better now!!!!
    Ready for next week

  83. EDIT: I loved it was 10 minutes MORE.

Also, I was laughing a lot when Mr Merge said “deamon”… Wouhahaha, Ellison’s face… Priceless! I’m a software engineer, so it’s my kind of joke. :D

  84. Agreed. I Loved Today Is the Day part 2, but what is out of character to me is that Derek and Cameron notice the suspicious van. If that was me than I would send the machine to investigate. Why wouldn’t he? Too proud? I also think we got a basement reference. Did Derek spill his guts? Maybe that’s how Cam found John’s bunker.

  85. Annie,

Lena does that to me too. Her great expressions, and then when her eyes start to well up, yikes………. such a good actress.

  86. Phasee, yes that’s what Cameron was referring to. From Dugeons & Dragons.

  87. @Gary,

I agree about Lena. Superb! They all are, really.

And Summer’s big brown, cross-eyed facial expression when Derek was up in her face… I melted like warm goo!

I thought, for just a second, that she’d tell Derek to hold still a moment… wait a sec. I think I see a .000074 mm sized melanoma on your nose. You should have it checked out.

    LOL!

  88. Yes Dan I too was captivated by that scene with Summer, But like always she was only there for a brief shot. I’ve heard that she is a very talented actress as well. Josh should let her give it a try sometime. I guess he lost her phone number.

  89. The first few minutes and the last few were great. It was a good ep, not my favorite and a little too slow paced in the middle. The Sarah/Charlie and the John/Charlie story line…was fine…but they felt kind of long and I kind of wanted to see a little more of Derek and Cameron working together.

I felt sad when they left there house. I really liked that house but good family moment.

Loved the bug slug part. And its interesting that John brings up Cameron. I’m sure she would do some damage.
And that means VW gets product placement!!!
But wonderful John and Sarah moment.

When Sarah went in to get tested for breast cancer…I thought it was handled very well. That she had a pink gown on…I was not expecting the tracking device…but it does make you wish that more people would find cysts instead of the other.
That moment, I’m sure for a lot of people hit close to home and I have to say it was well done. Like I said I had chills down my spine when she went in to get tested. And she had no one there with her. I really felt for her.

The Pancakes…(Jameron hint) The past ep connections were nice.

Cameron and Derek those two were great.
I really wish we would have spent a little more time with these two. I mean there entire talk was great. That both of them apologized to each other.
So I guess that means they are all from the same time line?

Loved seeing Cameron fix the car, chasing after the car, breaking down the fence.

Also did anyone notice Cameron says ‘that jacket belongs to Jesse‘…not ‘belonged’ so it sounded like she might still be alive. Or Cameron wonder’s about that.

Was the reference about giving up John’s location a reference to the basement or to the hostage thing Jesse was talking about? I felt it could be both!!!

JH being taken over…well done. Loved Mr. Murch (spell)!!! That guy rocks. Also the ‘brother’ now knows who Savannah is and the schematic of a terminator…which makes you wonder JH is a T888…Cameron is a different model so that means the instructions they have for her are out of date.

BEST part was when Cameron got soaked and went down. Loved how she woke up and grabbed the bad guy. Was she really knocked out or was she faking it.
As for Cameron’s bath…well if she can’t swim I guess you bring the water to her. LOL!

But now the question becomes…did the ‘brother’ want Derek or did he want Cameron?

If they want Cameron that means she could leave John because they are after her?

If he’s after Cameron then he didn’t know she has a 120 second reboot phase?

Loved when Cameron frees Derek and he tires to get out of the duck tape.
Also Derek’s comments about his explosive…is that what’s in Cameron’s head that we still have to remove?

I really liked Cameron’ s jacket…actually I really like the jackets the characters wear. And depending on where in the country you are at the moment you could use that kind of jacket!!!

When Cameron got soaked I yelled at my tv ‘REBOOT‘!!
I scared my dog. And am driving my family and friends nuts talking about this show!! :)

I will miss you Charlie. And the poor dog!

So the family is slowly starting to work together.
Only two more eps….we need that SEASON 3!!!!

FYI Two things I noticed the car Sarah and John are driving in the promo pics had product placement http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/photo/4390184/SCC+SE2EP+20+PROMO+PICS yet in the ep one slash was taken out.

Did anyone else see this commercial? They had one that said TSCC was sponsored by Direct TV (It had a FOX logo in the middle of the page) and talked about DVRing your favorite shows. First time I saw that type of commercial on TSCC.
Kind of looked like a cross promotion for FOX and Direct TV. Who knows.

But we better get a S3…so many questions still remain!!!

Edited to say…I hate watching TSCC live. The commercials there were a ton of them…but once again really top notch companies we even had a bunch of new ones.
I am worried about the ratings for this ep considering it was up against March madness basketball.

@ nick85 your comments about Jameron at the 8:55 pm mark!!! I agree.
But as Dan said if we get a S3…I would like them to focus more on John, Cameron and Sarah. The family!

  90. And I’m still upset about Charley and the dog. I have a dog with a brain tumor… just found out about it after he started having epileptic seizures a few months back. He’s the greatest dog I’ve ever had. Such a cute little guy (face like a teddy bear), and whip smart. Picked him up at the pound a few years back. Hopefully, the medication will keep the seizures away. I would hate to have to put him down before his time.

So, seeing that poor dog killed… it got to me. Just like when Cameron seemed so cold when the cancer-ridden librarian wasn’t there any more.

That just wasn’t right to write these things these ways IMHO. Sometimes they can lay it on too thick. Are they death and disease fetishists or something?? LOL!!

  91. Oh, and my dog’s name is…

    CHARLIE

    :D

  92. Kea, I’m with you and Dan except I would add Derek in there too. He’s a great character and is part of the family. The show should focus on those four. If there is a season 3 I hope they keep Josh Friedman far from it. He obviously does not like the same characters that the fans do. I know many people like him but in my opinion he’s really screwed the pooch.

  93. @Snake,

Derek buys the farm next. I think you can bet money on it.

So, Season 3 really couldn’t have any excuses for so little Cameron and so little John and Cameron, and Sarah and Cameron.

  94. That depends Dan. If Josh is at the helm there will be 57 new characters and 20 new subplots that all need more screen time than the main characters. Like I said, the main recipe for success in a S3 will be to take JF out of the equation.

  95. I rewatched the sequence where Cameron is knocked out… Definitively, JH’s brother stole an old terminator diagram… Because he instruct his guy to extract the chip from the TOP of the head.

    http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/KE6NzIM_nSTPABlahcMnKQ?feat=directlink

If my memory is right, Cameron’s chip opening is on the back of his head.

  96. Ugh, yeah, I think I just answered my own question:

Maybe the writers are a bit too death happy.

A maudlin pall seems to hang over the show a bit too much at times. It seems like hope is fading. As Sarah’s dialog with Charley seemed to indicate.

How about trying to fight to survive?

Wanna know why I love T2 so much (and I think why so many do too)?

No matter what… the characters stick together. They learn, they grow. They fight to stay human, even the good Terminators. They cling to what’s best in all of us, and stop dwelling on the bad in life, even when all seemingly is lost. They still pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and fight.

When Sarah said that there’s nothing she could do about cancer taking her… I wanted to yell at her and shake her. That is not THE Sarah Connor, we love, talking!!!! That’s the voice of a quitter!

Even Arnold, a Sherman tank of a Terminator, killed no one (HUD readout: Human Casualties… ZERO). He didn’t have to, and he prevailed. Yes, he injured a few along the way, but as he said: they’ll live. He didn’t quit either… even when he needed a vacation. ;)

  97. @Etienne,

You’re right! Damn that glitch satellite signal! It was all pixelized during that sequence and I didn’t see it clearly!

I’ll have to re-watch it on-line to get everything I missed.

  98. Snake,
I hear ya on the lack of Cameron, been biting my tongue. Due to my mental
state, I am having delirious delusions that Josh is doing this on purpose and is enjoying it in some sick way. Dames of Delusion? oh yeah.

  99. Dames of Delusion…

    LOL!

  100. Good episode. Very touching that Charlie and Sarah began to reconnect over her possible illness. I loved Charlie’s character; you’ll be missed.

I liked the idea that Cameron and Jessie were from similar timelines. Didn’t see where Cameron told Derek anything about her malfunction.

I really want to thank the writing staff, the crew and the cast for bringing a story alive that we all loved. You will always be in our hearts.

    Live long and prosper,

    The Zadokite

  101. While I’m at it, we better be past the trusting Cam issue, that is unless her chip
    really goes bad.

  102. Charlie’s hand lingered on Sarah’s breast a little too long to be purely clinical.

Lug nuts with the fingers! I can’t even get ‘em off with a tool.

Loved the stainless Mini-14. (You sure know your guns, buddy.)

John Henry’s brother wants what we all want; to survive. Perhaps the line was delivered in support of the series. I hope so.

  103. Thanks Robert, I was hoping I wasn’t the only one who took exception to the lack of Camerons character developement.

  104. Hey there Snake.
You right about Derek…did I forget him on my list…sorry about that.
I like Derek as well and your right he is family. I just thought we’d go back to that S1 feel where you have mostly Sarah, John, Cameron and Derek every now and then…doing his own thing. That was my take on it.

Dan I’m sorry to hear about your dog. :(

I was rewatching the ep before I came to comment on it and what bothered me about this ep was this slow down in the middle. Maybe if the segment would have beeb split apart a little more instead of being Sarah and Charlie for 18 minutes it might have worked better…I honestly expected John to call Cameron. :)

I mean we see this family moment with the pancakes…which is fine…but maybe it would have been better if we would have seen this sooner rather then later in the season. I only say that because I know for a fact I’m going to have to explain to some people who Charlie is considering we saw him last…was it back in S2, ep 3. Wow that was a while ago. I can understand why some new people are waiting for the full DVD set to come out to play catch up.

And viewing it a second time it seemed like Derek and Cameron slept at the loading dock. So it seemed like we had a time error going on here.
Also Cameron follows them to the port of LA, where we have already been in S1. This is the first time this season (not including the first ep we really linked back to S1)

I hate that we were up against March madness basketball. But I will post the companies who’s commercials I sat through contact info. I already have a contact list at wiki.

And this is going to sound funny but since Sarah was talking about breast cancer…I was kind of expecting a PSA to pop up. Don’t ask me why…just kind of was waiting for that.

I still can’t get that Direct TV commercial out of my head. Are they interest in the show?! Didn’t they do that for Friday nigh lights?!?!? Hmmm
Like I said as long as we get a Season 3…somewhere I will be happy.
I think that if/when we get a S3 we need the family together and as for Jameron I say go for it. :) Expand my sci-fi mind. :) Plus its interesting. :)

Hmmm watch the other terminators get hit by electricity or even Cameron getting knocked out. This looked different. Like she decided to ‘play dead’…maybe its because of the rubber type boots she had on (which were nice by the way). She just came too really fast.
And I think the ‘brother’ thought Cameron was a T888…boy was he wrong.
    Go get em Cam!!!

I still think either Cam was referring to the basement and/or the Fisher guy when she says Derek already did.
But my question is did the brother want the sister? And Are they all from the same time line?
    *cough* season 3 *cough*

  105. Great episode! Majorly bumming about Charlie and the dog… :( As some have already mentioned answers(?) from previous eps: the Fisher roving back door, Sarah’s van kidnapping/transmitter surgery, and the possible answers to the music room from “Dungeons” - Cameron’s remark to derek that he had givien up important information before… and I think the mystery of the 3 dots has been solved - when JH was first corrupted and moved to open up the cabinet where the Turk module was located, if you look at the face plate of the Turk there is a triangle of 3 red lights! I also note that the Turk is a triangle that points down, and the logo of Cyberdyne: http://terminator.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Cyberdyne_logo.jpg is a triangle that points up….. the opposing forces or brothers…..

  106. Agreed Kea, we definitely need to get back to the S1 commaraderie.

  107. @Dube,

Good catch on the three dots and how the symbols are almost like the Yin and the Yang. I saw it too. Who’s the Yin and who’s the Yang in all this? Hmmm…

You know the Chinese philosophical symbol, the Taijitu, don’t you?

    http://z.about.com/d/taoism/1/0/0/-/-/-/yinYang.gif

A circle… equal parts light and dark (good and bad, right and wrong). There’s a little black circle in the light portion, and a little white circle in the dark.

    It speaks for itself.

  108. We’re a ship of dunces?

    I think not! :D

  109. @Snake,

    Hear, hear buddy, hear hear!

  110. @Kea,

Thanks for thinking about my dog, Charlie. He says: “woof!” back. :)

And keep up the good fight. I hate adverts, but we need ‘em.

Oh, and Fox and DirecTV are both owned by Rupert (shudder) and his News Corp. empire.

  111. As Hadley put up at the top…

Zack, you’re more than welcome to chime in here at any time.

  112. It is definitely tragic that Summer hasn’t been used more on-screen considering how much she brings. To quote Jesse, “Well, it’s a damn shame, then. It’s a damn waste.”

Still, what we did get was pretty darned cool. I mean, you have to admire Cameron’s restraint when Derek shoves the barrel under her jaw. Terminators who cross with the light tend to summarily kill you when you do that. I guess Cameron’s sessions with the birds have come in handy.

At this point, I’m just happy that we are finally getting reveals and connections to the plot. Even when exposition-heavy, it’s a lot more fun to watch when you know some payoffs are in the offing.

As usual, more at my blog: T:TSCC 0220 - To the Lighthouse

  113. I think Toa Tahu has more screen time than Cameron lately

  114. I’m about ready to go down to Fox and Warner Bros with my picket sign:

    JOSH FREE SEASON 3

  115. @CJ

It is definitely tragic that Summer hasn’t been used more on-screen considering how much she brings. To quote Jesse, “Well, it’s a damn shame, then. It’s a damn waste.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Especially since many people/viewers came on board TSCC from being big fans of Firefly, and knowing full well that Summer “Kick Ass Actress That She Is” Glau was going to be on board. We were hoping for much more prominence than what we’ve been getting.

Could be one (of many) reason(s) why were struggling for ratings??

  116. @ Dube nice catch on the dots…my TV signal was messed up…my picture shrank at strange times…I don’t know what happened (skynet maybe) so I missed that. Thanks for the link.

Thanks Dan I try. The worst part is trying to find the contact information. Some companies are really easy…others make you play hide and seek and other websites either don’t work or don’t exist.

I just really have to ask this but…after watching all the commercials I was surprised how many are aimed towards women.

I mean take some of the ones that aired tonight…Home depo was for both and but they had a Wanted the Video game, Nascar for the guys but the Wal-Mart one was clearly towards ladies and gardening and so was degree, avon, Oil of Olay, JC Penny, Maytag…anyone else have a take on this?
Do we have a larger female audience then I thought?
Isn’t the CW network that is gearing more towards female audiences? I’m just saying!! :) I’m just clamoring for a Season 3.

I just thought it was interesting that they (Direct TV) was saying that people should watch there favorite shows by way of DVR. Since we’ve had the DVR talked a number of times…and probably still will continue to talk about it.

LOL CJ and good point about Cameron and the birds.

But I did like Cameron kicking gluteus maximus!! ;)

@ Robert LOL. Which one was Toa Tahu? Was it the first thing JH held up. That thing was cute.

  117. Kea,
Toa is the one John Henry spins the blades on when he asks Savannah if she would rather play with him (Toa) instead of the ducks.

  118. Thank you Robert. :)
I did not get a good look at Toa, but I did see the spinning blades. Do you know the name of the first one we saw in this ep? The white one JH holds up. I would have bought one of those, as well as any TSCC action figures…Just saying!! :)

  119. Kea,
I will have to watch the ep again to be sure, I think I missed the one your talking about

  120. How does present Cam know about Jessie’s miscarriage? If she hasn’t gone to her original programing. Doesn’t John scrub her memory first?

  121. WOW!! Looks like JH’s [evil?] “brother” might be the answer to all the speculation around next episode’s title: Adam Raised a Cain. Those two AI’s might represent Abel and Cain, but who’d be Adam in this case?

It also seems to confirm my suspicions on Weaver’s real intentions. Maybe she’s the one that crossed against the light? ;)

I suspect Weaver and the Connors might end up being allies after all.

Or maybe I need to sleep a little bit to clear my thoughts. Great episode!!! Bravo!! :D

  122. You’ve done it again: Cameron 20 secons, the Connors 40 minutes. And again, we go to hospital.

We miss all the Cameron learining to be human thread and actions scenes, but you keep give us Sara’s family ethical lectures…

I’m wondering, Why you have to put Cameron in a such trivial position since early season 2? It wasn’t like that in season 1!

Someone had said, this show was died sincer season 1. I don’t want to believe, but the more I watch, the more truth I find in those words.

  123. Phasee I think way back in S1 it became clear that Cameron does remember…that she probably lied to Sarah, about having her memory scrubbed, in order to avoid the question about knowing Derek.

    Cameron clearly remembers.

Hmmm I’d kind of like to see John play chess with Cameron. Have wanted to see that since S1…for some reason.

Thanks Robert I would appreciate it. :)
I do wish TSCC was linked up with one of those sites where if you see clothing, or other items on a show you would like the website tells you where you can buy the stuff. Then we wouldn’t have to hunt down names of lego robots. :)
I just realized the little figure reminded me of…Playmobil!

  124. ONLY 40 SECONDS LEFT FOR CAMERON BEFORE IT’S ALL OVER…

  125. Holy Crap, that was good! So what does Sarah do now? She doesn’t trust either Derrick or Cameron, Charlie’s dead and she’s dying.

Also still curious about the triple 8s and Cameron. They are supposed to have three chips so that if one or two chips are damaged or destroied they still remain fully functional. It appears the writers abandoned this idea in the beginning of season one. Okay, fine, I can live with that–makes it easier to explain Cameron’s chip problems. But then we see a diagram of Cameron’s cranium tonight and it shows ports for three chips.

  126. Kea,
Solek is the name of the bionicle you inquired about.

    http://bionicle.wikia.com/wiki/Solek

  127. ok it was a good ep, kinda slow, but I enjoyed it.
    mistakes:
1.never kill a aninmal on a tv show ! first the bird now a dog ….not smart and it wasnt necessary.
2.killing charlie…. alot of your fans liked charlie, and it would be better to just leave him alive in their minds. it was very predictable so was no surprise, and it would have been more of a surprise and better for fans to have him save john and live. as it is just a little more darkness in the show.

****many reveals for those who see them.
1_ 3 DOTS ! @ Dube, I didnt notice the 3 dots on the turk interface, but went back and there they are, upside down , which means the 3 dots on the wall are about the real skynet who attacked JH. which its 3 dots face up like you said cyberdynes does.
2_Derek was tortured in basement and gave up location of johns base, and cameron knows, about it.
3_winston put a transmitter in sarahs breast. caliba has been tracking , and maybe doing survelience.
4_ skynet now knows about savanah weaver, and probably everything john henry knew.
5_schematic for cameron? showed 2 chip ports, 1 in right front we knew about , and 1 on middle right behind the front one.. it is possible this was T-888 schematic, not camerons. this could suggest cameron has 2 chips, and 2 chip ports, and that one is redundant? this would also mean that JH still has a cromartie chip in port 2??
6_John Henry is the “good” version of skynet. the 1st version is out there, and is ahead of JH in development. this also proves weavers intentions are good [ by that I mean anti skynet ], which I have been saying for awhile now. I think this ep proves that, and that there is another skynet.
7_Cyberdyne work was continued on by someone, and also by andy goode who worked for cyberdyne briefly. the shame is andy thought he created skynet , or was brainwashed to think that, when in reality he created the good version which is JH !
derek killed andy for nothing., and I think this suggests it was skynet that captured derek and andy in basement. they gave up info on base and were brainwashed.they were let go by skynet because they were brainwashed to do things.
I stated this in new basement theory on wiki about a week ago.

at 11:45 108 posts, 23 were Dan about 22% dan. also sorry about your dog.

    kea:
Did anyone else see this commercial? They had one that said TSCC was sponsored by Direct TV (It had a FOX logo in the middle of the page) and talked about DVRing your favorite shows. First time I saw that type of commercial on TSCC.
Kind of looked like a cross promotion for FOX and Direct TV. Who knows.

well I hope this means direct tv is interested in this show !

  128. @ Lee I only saw 2 ports =2 chips

  129. AI ‘Yang”? Perhaps the Artificial construct that beat the TURK in S1 and who subsequently received a military contract ’somewhere’? Lena is incredible. She san say so much with just a look. Poor John Henry. Dies (because he is attacked by his brother)and is ressurected.

  130. BTW - SKYNET doesn’t exist until Judgement Day. Right now it is just a self-indulgant AI seeking out information. We really don’t know who is pushing its buttons, or if it is pulling human strings. It may be ‘influenced’ much in the same way J.H. has been via Weaver and Ellison, only militarily.

  131. The Rest Of the FANS !

Great episode. Loved it! Thank God no Jameron sentiment. Wow I said that all in 2 lines.
Who thinks we should send out Fleetwood Mac’s
Go Your Own Way to Dan. Who feels the need to comment on whatever is on his mind and every fans’s post? Why? Now we know is take on T2, the writers thoughts? His dog. The effect this ‘type’ episode has on the ratings….. Enough.

    If I could
Maybe Id give you my world
    How can i
When you wont take it from me

You can go your own way
    Go your own way

  132. Robert thanks for all your help. :) Yes that’s the one. Very interesting website. I’ll study it more tomorrow.

    @ t5000
Didn’t direct TV have those commercials going with the T2 liquid terminator?
Don’t know if this helps but you can always send them a note at:
    http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIFnorail.jsp?assetId=P4960010#h:1112.202

  133. Good episode but with some pacing issues. I understood the intentions of the theme “Return to innocence” and it was a thoughtful synopsis with the return of Charlie. Of course anyone you trust 100 percent should be killed off in a show like this where the inevetable J-day is looming. I just felt that the loss of innocence, the loss of Charlie could have been executed better. It felt like the escape from the lighthouse could have deserved a better more suspenseful action scene.

  134. Okay, can you guys, Josh, Hadley, anyone on the show dispel recent rumor that all the sets have been torn down and the show has already been canceled?

    http://www.fmqinc.com/terminator-cancelled/

I don’t buy it myself yet, but am I delusional?

If the show was canned already, would you do your fans a favor by telling us now? or would you make us wait? I’m sure we’ll still be watching the last 2 eps regardless.

For now, I’m sticking with what Ive been told, which is that no decision will be made until all the eps air. regardless of what sets are torn down, or actors signing on to other roles. this doesn’t necessarily mean a thing.

I would still feel better though if you could tell me this blog is full of bs.

  135. Great episode. Ties all sorts of threads together. The only thing I didn’t see coming was Cyberdyne. The question is, is it a result of time travel or that the events of T2 didn’t totally eliminate Cyberdyne from this timeline?

We saw the “three dots” Sarah is/was obsessing about.

Cameron’s remark to Derek when he said he would never give John up even when tortured - a reference to “Dungeons and Dragons” (S1)?

Cameron and Derek don’t yet realise Sarah lied to them - they may not realise, at least for a while, because of the attacks. Sarah’s craziness killing people again - Charlie might still be alive if Cameron had been there to kill the Kaliba goons (who were, it appears, all humans who’d been hired - as with the Terminator who was stock-piling Coltan in S1, I note).

Maybe now Sarah’s crazy will dial down since she doesn’t believe she has breast cancer. John needs to read the riot act to her in any case.

TSCC definitely the TV show I most look forward too every week - I can’t wait for the season to end so I can re-watch S1 & S2 straight through. Sadly it doesn’t look good for a season 3 - but, OTOH, at least TSCC will go out on a quality high… unlike some other SF shows we could mention.

  136. After reading that blog, I do feel like most of it was BS. That being said, TSCC looks like it’s on it’s last legs. It’s really sad though. I mean, the first season was nothing to brag about but this second season has been really good! Granted, there was a lull in the middle with the focus on Sarah but I hope that Fox recognizes that this show has some potential. At the very least, if it does get dropped by Fox, I hope it gets picked up by another station. Plus with the new Terminator coming out, hopefully it will bring in some support. Just wish they would change the night, I feel like it’d make all the difference!

  137. anybody else thinks that weaver is the robot that we saw in the Jimmy Carter?

i think that weaver represents another AI that also fights skynet in the future, and that JH is the AI in question. (that explains why Weaver isn’t trying to kill the Connor clan and is also TRYING to be a substitute mother for Savahnna instead of just getting rid of her)

god i just love this idea :D

Yeayyyy for the bonding momments between Cameron and Derek!!!

Cameron is so sexy when she’s all soaking wet :D

sniff charley died… they really had no luck at all him and michelle, poor innocent bystanders that had their lives taken away because of the Connor’s fate…

Sarah was such a kickass in this epi, and to answer someone who asked, if you put your head to a defibrilator, your brain fries basically it’s like overloading your brain with electricity *_*

again, sorry for the typos if i make some: ==> French girl inside:D

  138. The fact we didn’t get to see the explosions on the beach was a cheap cop out. We saw some flames in the aftermath with sarah walking by the corpse of the intruder, pathetically cheap looking. The young John and Sarah flashbacks were rubbish. Didn’t add a damn thing. I wish Sarah would die of breast cancer. More production money for explosions! when not paying Heady to show her pretty head and pouty lips and bone structure. She does nothing more.

Good Zieracorp scenes as always. Can’t wait to see Weaver shape shift into liquid metal in front of Sarah’s eyes and scare the S out of her in the finale.

  139. Both, the janitor, clerk or whatever his job was at WB and the blogger sound like people in need of attention: don’t do them the favor.

Oh and kill that messenger, figuratively speaking, if you have the chance. That fart keeps saying that he loves the show; apparently he doesn’t have the same love for us and he doesn’t mind spoiling our fun for a second of fame. POS.

  140. I think you’re on to something there tarja. A third party, not alligned with Skynet or the Resistence. That explains why John Connor would ASK them to join him.

  141. I hate to say it, I was disappointed by the action in this episode. The slow motion at the ending scene when Charlie and John was running, are you kidding me. The directors been doing it all season and I hate it so much and adding music over it. Please stop it, it’s dumb. I want to hear bullets firing and screaming. The whole slow motion made the action part feel rushed and not exciting. They could have done a way better job with the light house scene. It should have been less talking about family stuff and more action scenes but they didn’t do it. I rate this episode 7/10. I’m giving it a 7 because I loved the John Henry and Cameron and Derek scenes which I think saved the episode. Everything else was a blunder.

  142. ok, I just did a little time analysis of the reboot scene: (mm:ss)
    40:10 Cable thrown in water
    40:16 Cameron goes down
    40:48 Cameron boots up
Total: 38 (32 sec if you count from where she falls to the floor)

The reboot scene in ‘Samson and Delilah’ was 52 sec. long.

I know you can’t show the exact 120 seconds on screen and I think they did it well in S&D (even though there are huge time jumps). But 38(32) seconds?! I don’t know…
As I see it, there could be two explanations for this:
    1. Cameron faked it for some reason… Maybe she wanted to know how much these guys know about Terminators, but then again she could have just tortured him. One thing that would support this thesis is the “waking up” process. In this episode she just opened her eyes. In S&D she is slowly waking up, moving her head around before opening her eyes.
    2. Cameron ‘prepared’ for being electricuted. As we learned from John Henry, the maschines are able to process huge amouts of data in nanoseconds. After the water hit her, she must have realized that this is going to happen. So she put herself in stanby/hibernation mode (exaclty the same as on a computer) in order to reboot faster. We saw that in ‘Heavy Metal’. Reboot-time from standby is 15 seconds. So that would come a lot closer.

Or maybe the writers just screwed up =) What do you think?

  143. Good theory Snake on the robot time and it does sound plausible or, like most of the season from the writer’s blunders, it was a writer screw up for rushing the action part of the episode which is why I didn’t like the episode. They could have did some much right their and blew it as usual because half of the episode was about talking.

  144. That was a great fake about the cancer. I fell for it all the way. I am so sad about Charlie. Now they have all recently lost someone. What are they all to do?

Cameron is a strange robot. Still not sure of her alternative mission.
Way to intoduce a new plot twist with the Cyberdyne AI. How did Savannah’s comment about changing the rules allow this worm to take over? Was John Henry going to destroy his computer? I need to watch it again.

  145. What should I do till next Friday? I can’t wait.

  146. Loved this ep. Really sad to see Charley (and his pooch) go like that though, I’ve always really liked his character =(

  147. Ok, so this is a nitpick gripe, but it’s been bugging me. While I understand there had to be some creative license to allow the guys in the van to escape with Derek, I was a little annoyed by the escape sequence. Cameron was not all that far from the van. She fired a lot of shots, all of which should have been direct hits to whatever she was aiming for (she IS a terminator, after all). One would think she would shoot through the windshield and blow out the tires so she could catch up with them, but unless my TV signal was messed up, I saw no window damage. Even “bullet-proof” glass should not be able to withstand that many shots to the same point, and even if she was off a little, you’d see damaged glass. Cameron is supposed to be one of the world’s most advanced killing machines. What was she shooting at?

  148. Well, this episode’s preview gave me a wrong picture, of what to expect from this episode… I was hoping for a Cameron and Derek centric episode and lots of intense dialogues between those two, so I was pretty much disappointed. Especially if you consider the fact, that we definitely won’t get another Cameron centric episode in the final two.

But I will be more disappointed, if the above rumor, that the show was already cancelled, will turn out to be true. Though most of the information there doesn’t give anything away. If season 2’s storylines are coming to a conclusion, they won’t need the sets anymore. And of course the actors are working on other projects right now. But oh well, if it’s true, I have this bad feeling, that the final scene of season 2 will be the one, we saw at the end of the wondercon teaser… and leave us with that…

  149. Jack,

remember when Cromartie was killed in the church? Lots and lots of rounds at the window shooters and not even scratching one… Terms are bad aims it seems.
    ;)

  150. The two brothers:

John Henry plays with Lego Bionicles

Skynet plays with … knives and assorted stabbing weapons. He thinks they’re “super neato.”

Skynet (another Terminator sitting behind a similar desk, plugged into the network): Mr. Lurch, come here and let’s play a game.

Mr. Lurch (the antithesis of Mr. Murch): No! No! Anything, but that! I’ve already lost one too many fingers playing your games!

    ;D

  151. Here’s a twister for you!

    Season 3 reveal.

Who’s that sitting behind the desk in the basement of Kaliba Corp.? The visible representation of Skynet?

None other than Agent Ellison’s doppleganger. The body that Cromartie supposedly “disposed” of. He gave it to his bosses.

The “preacher man” has an evil and twisted twin.

  152. So we have another system out there, based on the Cyberdyne codebase, implating worms throughout the world’s systems and causing radio interference, developing HK drones and expressing a desire to survive.

That was the t*tty transmitter that was interfering with the radio.

Where does this 85% of all the Coltan come from? I thought JH said Zeira had 7% of the world’s Coltan reserves and that is a lot of Coltan.

I’m thinking the ‘brother’ isn’t Skynet, yet. It had to get the schematics from John Henry. If it had been code sent from the future it would have already had that information. I’m wondering how it knew Cameron was a machine.

Is the third season going to be Connor & Co. hiding from the internet, since the other AI is spread out all over the world’s computer systems?

  153. One more thought on Season 3.

Weaver’s evil counterpart overseeing John Henry’s rival at Kaliba Corp.?

    Robert Patrick.

  154. This season’s sets are all dated and would not play into Season 3 anyway, so they were likley struck to make use of the stages during hiatus. Stages are massive investements that need to be generating cashflow. If they need a set they have the plans to rebuild it…it’s been done many times.

The dog should have made it to the boat with John. Much better storyline, and would have opened up a fun riff where the dog and Cameron don’t get along….imagine them both sitting in the back seat of the SUV, staring menacingly at each other, or vieing for John’s attention.

I’ll go with the hibernate theory…sounds plausible. BUT, someone’s gotta tell me where JH has been storing his schematics. Is there a flash memory core somewhere independent of his chip??? If so, dude should be spouting all sorts of useful information. Possibly he doesn’t know how to access it., but big brother did. Again, plausible.

I’ve been bugged by the 3-chip disconnect vs. the 1 chip dramatic license issue all season. The TSCC behind the scenes documentary shows the art designer describing the T888 skull and it’s function…so it’s not like they don’t know about this aspect of the canon.

I think the writers reached a low point in their respect for the Terminator canon with that abduction scene. First, the smarter thing would have been to send Cameron to check out the van. The Even Smarter thing would have been to have had Cameron check out the tire in a few seconds to find the cause for the flat. If there’s a bullet in the tire…um, hello?? With Cameron running….my only defense there would be that she wanted to find out where these guys were going…so she let them lead her back to the warehouse. However, if THAT’s the case then why do they both wander out of the warehouse like they’ve just finished an afternoon of shopping?? These dudes know she’s a terminator (btw, how do they know that??). One would think it would be useful to drop the guy in the chair and let Cameron have a discussion with him like she did with the guy in Heavy Metal. Honestly…massively lazy writing here in favor of a Sarah storyline that’s literally a dead end.

On the Sarah stuff…first, she and Charlie knocked boots that last night. That should have been made a bit more clear. Sarah had a moment where she let herself be human. Next, the implant thing….really?? WEAK!! And within seconds of her finding it the dudes are rolling in all over town?? Whaaat?? If they’ve been tracking her long enough to have then tracked Derek and Charlie, they’re smart enough to wait for a more opportune moment than the Doctor’s office, don’t you think??

This episode was “entertaining” from a just sit and watch the show aspect, but it was just HORRIBLE from a Terminator world-logic POV. Sad, really.

Oh, and btw, how the hell does Ellison allow Savanah to just hang out with JH at all, never mind after the whole hide & seek melodrama??

I don’t get how the writing went so far off the cliff between season 1 & 2

  155. Did anyone else notice that Charley’s gunshot wounds formed the three dots?

  156. If Robert Patrick is unavailable (and I think you will need some big stunt casting to get the suits really interested in S3), then… I suggest to you:

Julie Ann Emery, Nurse Hobson (the evil T) and one of your choices for Weaver before Shirley got the job, to play Weaver’s counterpart at Kaliba.

Sarah Connor’s nightmares really will have come true.

Or Julie and Robert as a tag team T-1001 “partnership” against team Connor, and trying to develop Skynet. They work with each other at Kaliba, but they’re still rivals in a way on how best to develop Skynet. Tension amongst the ranks of T’s?

You just can never trust mimetic polyalloy creatures! LOL!

  157. ….and one more thing. The Kaliba henchman guy…he doesn’t seem the least bit phased to be getting ready to cut into the skull of a terminator. So…one would think that the guy has to be from the future, because even the most hardened mercenary of present day would have to be pretty tripped out coming face-to-face with a terminator for the first time. This guy acts like he’s radio tagging a deer.

  158. If the guy was from the future he would have known where to cut and wouldn’t have asked the question about where the info came from, either.

  159. Did anyone else view the promo’s for arnold comming back as a terminator on TSCC ? Were they for real and is that this season ?

  160. @ AI B.Bach, i think the guys were just plain mercenaries not guys from the future, but that’s just me…

i was thinking about phrase that JH said:

he wants what WE all want mrs Weaver: to survive.

we? we mankind or we the A.I.s? maybe i m digging too deep i don’t know, but that phrase really tikked me off :D

  161. “We” meaning everybody, I think.

  162. @Lee J: do you have a link to the promo? I haven’t heard anything about it.

  163. Because JH’s brother has the Cyberdyne code from 1997, it means that we are supposed to be confused by the time paradoxes of the Terminator-universe. As the original timeline, Miles Dyson “created” Skynet, from his program code. Then this creature in the future sent back a Terminator to build Skynet in the past. This is why the “brother” has Dyson’s code. After that, the future changed, Dyson didn’t write the code, so it haven’t ever existed but the time-traveller Skynet-builder was already in that time, so even if Dyson died and the program code didn’t exist, the Dyson-code could save itself this way and this is why it can exist in 2009.
JH said he has never seen such a sophisticated code from any human, so it is Skynet’s self-improved program code from the future.

  164. Wow, we’re really running out of throwaway characters, aren’t we? We might even have to kill off some MAIN characters if the trend continues. If I’m counting right, the only two throwaway characters remaining would be the nerdy Zieracorp comuter tech and Savanah. Killing off the first I see as being very probable. Killing off Savanah would come as a serious shock— I have only ever seen one sci-fi show where they show a kid get killed (The Blob 1988 version) and it seems to me one of the last things that could happen, even killing a main character is more likely.

Oh, and If I’ve been putting the pieces together right, all these people, the folks at the warehouse, the guy who was about to cut into Cameron’s head, they all work for the Cyberdyne AI, who in my opinion is more likely to become skynet than dear innocent John Henry (who plays with legos and enjoys hide and seek with kids).

And the whole cutting into Caron’s head brought up an interesting question. Cameron said she put explosives in her head, next to her chip. First of all, How? Most computer microprocessors make an enormous ammount of heat, without coolant of some sort I’m sure enough to set off said bomb. Also, how did Cameron get it in there? We clearly see that there isn’t much room in the chip slot (like at the start of this season, or back in that one episode in season one). So, if it’s not in there, then it must be somewhere else in her head…but where? We don’t see any cuts on cameron where she may have gotten to a place in the endoskeleton skull where there is space, and anywhere else the transmitter and explosive would make a bulge under her skin. So…where’s the bomb again exactly?

  165. Snake -
Please, get off the Summer thing. The main character is Sarah Conner. The word Terminator in the title covers *all* the terminators in the show, be it Cameron or not. Don’t get me wrong, we all ***LOVE*** Cameron and want to see more of her, but every scene cannot have her, as much as it would be loved. The show is about the action line, plot line, and **all** of the characters, not just Summer/Cameron. But, man, I gotta agree with you….I LOVE Cameron!!! While it would be nice to see more of her, it is not always possible in trying to tell the story.

  166. Good episode today!

Hey guys, did you notice, when Cameron grabs the guy’s neck, it isn’t even Summer Glau’s hand!!!! ;) Must be of a dude or something…..lol

Man, how bad is that? Terminator hasn’t the best ratings on live tv, but the most active and over all biggest community throughout the net….and i’ve heard rumours, that everyone at WB already knows there won’t be a third season…..that’s pretty sad man……

  167. A psychological bomb?

Sarah finds the keepsake and keeps clicking the red button.

Sarah [looking down at the locket and back up to Cameron]: Goddamnit, why won’t this f–king thing work??!!

    Cameron: Fooled you… again!

    Sarah: You’re freaking me out!

Cameron: Wanna know a secret about last night?

    Sarah: No.

Cameron: Your son is a real tiger. He’s Tony The Tiger… He’s grrrrrreeeeaaaat!

Sarah [putting her hands up to ears, and squinching her eyes shut]: Naanaanaanaa… I can’t hear you!

    Cameron: Oh, grow up!

    :D

  168. Awesome eppy, but I have to agree with the criticism that Derek’s abduction scene was problematic. Cameron was shooting at the grill of the van, not Derek’s abductors.

However, there was so much to love:

    1) Savannah shows the effects of being nurtured by a terminator. Her grammar is flawless, but so unusual for a child. “I am well.”

    2) Sarah placing Charley’s hand on breast. It conveyed intimacy, trust, love, and vulnerability in one fell swoop.

    3) Now we know what became of that roving back door uploaded in “Complications”. SkyNet’s personally running the show against the Connors…no more unreliable unsurrogates.

4)Catherine Weaver represents a cyborg faction that wants to find a way to coexist. I would bet money that she was the terminator on the USS Jimmy Carter.

  169. holy f*** Dan, i laughed so hard i almost choked myself!!! ^_^

    damm you!!!

    :D

  170. I doubt Cameron ‘actually’ put a bomb in her chrome-dome. It would compromise her mission. It would be subject to the emotions of a teenage boy. Befor Dan slams me here - IF(and it’s a BIG if…) Cameron loves John - it’s FUTURE John. Not the kid in training. ALSO, everyone ASSUMES that Cyberdine doesn’t play a part in the rise of SKYNET in this particular present. Cyberdyne’s importance was reduced because Sarah and John allowed Uncle Bob to torch himself at the end of T2. Since then, it sems Skynet has been sending all sorts of metal back into the past. Who knows what the ramifications of those events have wrought.

  171. Amazing episode, loved every moment of it. Great to see Sarah smile for once, loved all the John Sarah stuff, simply brilliant and those voice overs are the signature of the show.

Loved the bug slug bit, I love lighthouses, the last moments.. the tension.. who lived, who didn’t…. that was a killer and it was great to see Cameron and Derek work together.

    Viva La TSCC!!!!!!!!!

  172. @Wolfie; i don’t think that she lied to him about that, it wouldn’t compromise her mission in the least; her mission is to protect connor at all cost, therefor she has to protect him, EVEN FROM HER! giving him a false sense of security by doing this would just be the same as killing him because if he pushes the button because she turned again, and it didn’t kill her, then she would be putting him at an even greater risk, so no i don’t think it’s fake, and making him believe it is would be more dangerous than anything else.

  173. That’s my motto:

    Always leave ‘em choking…

    LOL!

    Have a good afternoon.

    :D

  174. Charlie was a nice enough guy, but was he really Sarah’s type? He never seemed swashbuckling enough to land her. Poor Sarah has to be thinking, “My men ARE expendable, and I do do this kind of work.”

  175. Cameron was not all that far from the van. She fired a lot of shots, all of which should have been direct hits to whatever she was aiming for (she IS a terminator, after all).
    Jack March 28th, 2009 at 7:14 am

I tend to agree. Terminators should be able to calculate ballistics, distance and target movement with great accuracy; enough to make one-shot kills every time.

  176. Resistance lover, I never said put her in every scene. This is not just a show, it is a business. T:SCC has a commodity that people want and it is plain stupid to withhold that commodity. Summer has been reduced to a bit role when the fans choose her as the break out character of the show. I want her to be on equal footing with the other characters and there are millions of people who have already tuned out who agree with me. If you total it up Riley had substantially more screen time than Summer this season. Only an idiot would write the show in that fashion. This show is dying because of these decisions so I will not stop talking about it. After Fox cancels for business reasons I hope the network that picks the show up will read these things and insist on a correction in season 3.

    JOSH FREE SEASON 3!!!

  177. Snake,
As I look back over S1 and S2, the scenes that stand out most vividly in my mind are those involving Cameron. I really liked her line, “And I can see to it that you never dance again,” (in Russian) as she kicks the guy across the room and into the wall. I really loved that. Again, same episode, Cameron’s ballet movements to Chopin, delivered a powerful message to the audience. A steady diet of those types of things from Cameron would have pleased me greatly.

  178. The writing for this show is TERRIBLE. How many episodes has it been since there has been any “Terminator” action? Oh that’s right, Cameron shot at a van while she ran after it. Wow, too much excitement for me. And oh yeah, she killed a bird in her hand an episode or 2 back. Big deal.

Compare that to the action in T1, T2, or T3. It doesn’t even compare. It doesn’t even seem like Cameron is a terminator any more. Your writers SUCK in my opinion!

I think the acting is good - there’s not much they can do with crappy scripts.

  179. Right on Seneca, if an Abrahms tank can do it a terminator certainly should. Actually that has been an issue in the back of my mind since the first Terminator, Arnie never should have missed a shot. But, if you think about it it would be next to impossible for the resistance to succeed under those conditions so this is just one of those inconsistencies you have to accept for the sake of the story. Sci-fi just has to be plausible not perfect.

  180. @G: Good point about the targeting pattern on Charley’s corpse.

I think Charlie represented normalcy for Sarah. She was drawn toward the security he offered her. Ultimately she realized that it was a weakness and she couldn’t allow herself the fantasy (of security) anymore. Believing that Charley was the only person she could trust stemmed from Sarah’s increasing level of paranoia(justifiably so) but her distrust was misplaced and wound up compromising John’s safety(if she had sent John away with Derek and Cameron they couldn’t have tracked him down) and gets Charley killed.

I thought the scenes in the jungle and Sarah training John to be able to hide on his own were quite relevant to the events that unfold, where he must escape on his own. John must have wanted to save Charley’s life on the dock. john aum would have saved him. John Connor escaped. Bravo. Excellent writing. Layers and layers. I love it!

@SNAKE: You are probably correct about misused assets and the bottom line. Hopefully we can generate a third season on SOME network, I really don’t care which one. FOX has never understood the reality of a TV audience and relying on Nielsen is a joke.

@tarja: see your point, but it is just as likely that by creating a detonator to destroy herself, that Cameron exposes herself to the risk that somebody could EASILY destroy her to get to John if they posessed that watch. That’s a big gamble, and is 51% likely to get John killed ;^D

  181. Ditto Seneca, those quips were absolutely golden and we have been severely deprived of them. As one of the posters above said, It’s a damn shame.

  182. I think Cameron did hit the passenger in the van. If John were with her and Derek he would have been in danger there, too.

  183. Another theory about the “brother” could be that it was Vick from the first season. Remember, John plugged his chip to access it’s visual memory. But then it dailed for a internet connection and perhaps escaped into the internet. Then with the backdoor Ficsher planted, Vick finally found John-Henry.

  184. @Snake,

You’re right, (quite right!).. you’re bloody well right. :)

In non-verse form… I agree wholeheartedly with your point.

  185. oh lol ^^ my fault its old sry for trouble :)

  186. Have none of you read the article about terminator being cancelled, the set being torn down and the actors having moved on to new projects????

  187. which one Dan

  188. @Max,

Good point! Now that I’ve seen the episode on-line, I’d hazard a guess that the entity knew about Cameron and her association with John and Sarah and Derek vaguely (and gave its henchman the heads up about her) because Cameron was downloaded into the internet system for a moment in Season 1 to plant John’s virus to take out the traffic “eye in the sky” malware. It became aware of her existence just like with John Henry.

Boy, the writers sure like to wait a looooooooooooooooong time between stories to link things up!

The basement dungeon mystery isn’t going to be concluded until the end of Season 2, and the scene was all the way back in Season 1!! And hardly ever mentioned again.

Nor was Cameron’s dancing (which, I think they should tie together with a John and Cameron moment… where John says something or gives some hint or gives her a small present or trinket of affection that says he knows more about the secrets of her inner workings than she thinks he does) brought up at all.

    Plot pacing problems, perhaps? ;)

  189. @Snake,

About the lack of the magic of Cameron for much of the season. Also, that she is sorely underutilized, and so are Summer’s various talents because of it.

It pisses off the Firefly fans, I’ll bet. Like me. Like you. Like many others.

Perhaps if Sarah is pushed away as a character as John moves away from her influence, she can fade into the background. And they can focus on John and Cameron and the central plot again.

  190. Yes Dan, I always thought they would expand on the dance scene. It looked like a key moment in her evolution and could easily be tied back to her interactions with John. There is so much filler that could be cut out of this season to allow for such substantive scenes.

  191. Ratings been up… 3.83 million, 1.3 share.
Last week: 3.65 million, 1.3 share.

The 1.3 share is very weak, generally a show needs a 1.8-2.0 share for a chance at renewal.

  192. Taking things further…

How would the fans have taken Terminator 2 if James Cameron had pushed Arnold into the background and focused almost entirely on Sarah or John, even though the movie is called “Terminator” and is very much about machines and humanity and both humans and machines finding that common humanity together?

    Not very well, I’d imagine.

  193. @Chad…

The demo they’re looking for is DVR’ing it and going out for drinks, dinner, and movies on Friday nights.

How Fox could not figure that out, is beyond my comprehension.

And yes, Josh, I bet you do, “do” ratings. It’s the lifeblood of your current livelihood.

  194. http://www.fmqinc.com/terminator-cancelled/

TELL ME THIS ISN’T SO!!!!!!!!!!! It’s not April 1st yet! :(

This show asks questions that matter - the questions no one else has brought to the attention of the general public. Cable is bloated with sitcoms boasting dry sports humor and handbag gossip - shows that contribute nothing to society beyond superficial culture.

This show sets a new bar for the entertainment industry! You should be proud of this series!

It’s not a question of ratings… it’s a question of impact. FOX, do you want to help change the world, or do you want to continue contributing to the problem. Keep the Sarah Connor Chronicles on the air and the ratings will follow – have faith in us. We are spreading the word.

  195. @RebelBMH,

I think that very link has been discussed ad nauseum. It gets many things wrong anyway.

We won’t know the word yet officially. And they still wouldn’t say yeah or nay until after Sunday’s (two weeks from tomorrow’s) finale.

They want us to keep watching.

And that doesn’t mean WB couldn’t act smart, if Fox is dumb, and move the show elsewhere.

  196. @Seneca: (”I tend to agree. Terminators should be able to calculate ballistics, distance and target movement with great accuracy; enough to make one-shot kills every time.”)

Let’s take that one more step… Cameron is an advanced model. The T-800 in T2 had no trouble calculating ballistics for a minigun (at over 3,000 rounds per minute) to mow down an entire police fleet standing at the window of the Cyberdine building, without any ricochets killing humans who were right next to the cars (James Cameron even pointed that out, that there were to be no ricochet sound effects in that scene, because a terminator would have known exactly where it was shooting). I watched that scene in last night’s episode again after I posted, and you can see Cameron’s bullets all hitting various parts of the front and side of the car. Derek was a better shot than that using the pistol where the sight was off!

  197. @Wolfie,

I’m not going to slam you… I just think you’re wrong on the Cameron thing, is all. LOL!

She did say to John that FutureJohn doesn’t live here, and then gave him the watch. She’s putting her trust and affection towards this John now, and realizing that her FutureJohn is gone forever. CurrentJohn (numbnut that he has been) is now the one around, and she better live with it (like it or not).

When Cameron stated that FutureJohn didn’t tell her everything and kept things from her she may have been mentioning his feelings for her. His deepest feelings. Maybe he’s so hardened and isolated from everyone that he sees that Cam is right for his younger self only, and that it’s more fair to her to be with that John, so she has the love she needs.

    Make any sense?

  198. TSCC blog readers

    @Dan Hitchman

    Taking things further…

How would the fans have taken Terminator 2 if James blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

When you get a job in television let us know. Save your bargain basement consultant spiel for your memoirs.

  199. @Jack,

    Spot on!!

  200. To the extent that T/SCC is cerebral, may be its undoing. The ability (or desire) to ponder a circumstance is not something the general audience (younger at least) possesses. A chase scene followed by a sex scene and neo-vulgarity is all they want. While Josh and the writers attempt to weave imaginative threads into a fulfilling composite, viewers who grew up in a throw-away society, tune out. If John Connor moved in with the Jeffersons, and every line of dialogue was followed with canned laughter, the show would be number one.

  201. “There is another” Yoda’s line in star wars referring to princess Lea, so I gather
when John comes back from his boat ride he will be a fully trained Jedi master.
3-CPO will then relieve Sarah of the duty of making the annoying comments
to Cameron in a parallel to R2D2, and Chewbacca will play a future dead animal.

  202. This past several episodes were the text-book definition of solid quality sci-fi. TITD-2 takes the crown though (especially the delicate directing courtesy of Guy Norman Bee, congrats!).

This episode had some problems especially during the action scenes. But looking at the quality (or lack thereof) of the competition, I rather tend to shut-up, and just praise this little rare gem among the reality-show infested programming mediocricy.

A nice article on the diminishing quantity of quality sci-fi programming on TV:
    http://digg.com/television/What_s_on_the_sci_fi_TV_horizon_and_where_are_we_after_BSG

It puts TSCC among the few quality sci-fi programming..digg it and help raise some awareness on the issue…

  203. @Robert,

John Henry [to John]: Much you have learned, young padewan! But your training complete it, you must!

    John Connor: Whaaa?

John Henry: Talk funny to you, do I?

    John Connor: Maybe a…. little.

John Henry: When this old you get without da poontang, funny you too will talk! Forever will it dominate your thought processes.

John Connor: And your point… being?

John Henry [sagely]: Know you, the answer.

John Connor [glancing at Cameron]: oooooh!

  204. @Dan,

Now all we need to do is reference “Nothing here is what it seems”, that Dollhouse is reusing from Serenity and the “Circle will be complete”!!!

  205. Seneca, there is no reason why the show can’t have many levels. I agree the show makes you think and I love it but, there is an enormous audience out there that wants the action and the other things you mentioned. I think Summer is too classy for the more vulgar dialog but the action and personal intrigue can still fit in amid the more thought provoking scenes. We really can have it all and satisfy a much larger audience.

@RebelBMH: Ihate to tell you but it is about ratings. Fox is a business and they have a responsibility to their investors to make a profit. That is a hard fact. They are not in this for social engineering. We could have had our show and Fox could have had its ratings if Josh hadn’t thought he was too smart by half and ignored the warnings of embarking on his soap opera tangent. Josh screwed up big time and we get to suffer the loss for his error. It’s sad but true.

  206. @Robert

Cameron [to John, archly]: So, I’m just “poontang” to you now, am I?

John: Cam, please! It wasn’t me. It was John Henry! [glares at JH]

John Henry looks totally innocent and shrugs right back at John.

Cameron [walking away]: Don’t talk to me right now.

John: Aah, Cam! Wait up! What I’m I going to do now?

Cameron: You’ll think of something… go… go Google yourself. That’s what your best at, isn’t it?!!

John [grabbing Cameron by the arm and spinning her around to face him]: Kiss me!

Cameron: I’d just as soon kiss an XBox!!

John [miffed]: That can be arranged! [Cam storms off] You could use a good kiss!!

  207. Aw Dan, part of the fantasy of Cameron is the fact that there could be a rational, less emotional, logical female companion. Don’t reduce her to a ditz. You’re ruining it for me. LOL.

  208. @Snake,

This should have been my first clue, it’s a quote I read awhile back from
    a post Josh made:

Josh: “Oh my God I just have to say first and foremost that SNAKES ON A PLANE is the single greatest movie title of all time. I’m even using it as a zen koan. You have to promise me if I sign on to rewrite this you will NEVER change the title to something sort of generic and stupid.

When I first read this I thought, Snakes on a plane? That’s gotta be one of the worst B type movie I have ever heard, have they really sunk that low on ideas? This is one I must never see.

  209. Excellent point Robert. I’ve never seen it and never will.

  210. @Snake…

It’s Star Wars, man. What are you gonna do? ;)

  211. @Robert:

[spits Coke all over the screen]

What?! Seriously?! You have to be kidding, right? Say you’re just kidding.

SLJ: “I’m tired of these motherBLEEPing snakes, on this motherBLEEPing plane!!”

Worst….movie…ever. Well, maybe not “Plan 9 From Outer Space” bad, but still.

Great internet buzz machine though, for such a stinkfest. What if the movie had actually been… you know… good? “Arachnophobia” on a plane? Now, that would have been something!

  212. @Dan,
Terminators on a plane, oh wait that would just me another drama.
Cameron’s on a plane, that would do it. Talk bout frequent flier miles

  213. @Dan: That traffic system wasn’t actually hooked up to the internet. That’s why Dereck and John had to go to a traffic light to implant the virus/Cameron. So I don’t think there is a link there…

  214. Another good eppy….how do i emotionally detach so that i won’t be hurt “If” it gets cancelled. We need some posters who are secret billionaires to finance the show please.

As far as Charlie dying…yeah it sucked but for some reason I was attached to sherman. I mean I’m still waiting for closure from that death.

  215. You know i was just thinking back to the WonderCon interviews. A guy commented that fans were unhappy about the lack of Cameron in their lives. From the podium you heard the sweetest voice in a muted “thank you”. I really feel bad for her at this point. It’s obvious she desperately wanted to be in the show and now we see the back nine are no better from her perspective than the beginning of the season. Josh wasted a phenominal opportunity and Summer is suffering for it.

  216. @Dan,

I see your point about Future John, Dan. I just don’t WANT to agree with them. I would be disappointed to think that this is a soap opera disguised as Science FAction(fiction+action). The only reason I’ll sign on is because future J.C. is dead and she came back through time for him(shades of a Christopher Reeve film?)

Worst film ever? Netflix is sending me Zombie Strippers(yes it’s real) next week. I’m rootin’ for it to take top spot for badness!

  217. Might be wrong but only 2.5 million views? That system is so flawed. Apprently CBS aired three hours straight of NCAA action winning in all timeslots last night. How the hell is Terminator supposed to succeed with these movie premieres and sporting events airing opposite. We all knows closer to ten to even twenty million people watch the show but with how its rigged right now? Starting to agree that Fox never wanted T:SCC to succeed in the first place.

    I love you Summer!

  218. JH has a brother?
Incredible… didn’t see that coming. And more of Derek and Cameron please… I like that dynamic. Solid episode guys, pity it was over so soon… now we can again wait for a week! :)

  219. I think some people forget that a series involving multiple characters will have episodes focusing on one or more of them at the expense of the rest.

    1. Sarah was trying to accomplish a couple of things - preparing Charlie to take over protecting JC because of her “cancer” and helping JC recover from the loss of Riley since Charlie lost his wife.

    2. Sarah lost some trust in Derrick and Cameron so of course they wouldn’t be in the major scenes covered in number one.

    3. There seems to be 3 parties involved in the Judgement Day struggle - what might be Sky Net 1.0, Weaver, and JC. I’m not convinced that Weaver is a “good guy” yet but there have been hints - like hiring Ellison. One thought about self-aware AIs is they might split off into factions - in the scenes of the future time lines we see there is a split in the Terminator group. I think the T-1000 in the sub was Weaver or it could be the T-1000s are the split itself.

    4. Also remember that JC said previous he sent a human to protect him the first time Kyle and Terminators the other times. Why? Because Humans disappoint and they seem to die around him - ex. Riley and Charlie - that explains why Cameron is so close to the future JC and is a bit disturbing for the story mythos IMHO - that JC doesn’t trust humans.

    5. I think Cameron survived the electrocution because she had on rubber sole boots but there seemed a bit of lot hole when she collasped which should have shocked her.

    6. Just a quick one - when they showed Charlie floating in the water he had 3 wounds in the chest in the pattern we’ve seen in recent episodes.

  220. Somebody was trying to draw a happy face on his chest with bullet wounds and got interrupted? Yeah, I noticed the pattern too.

    It’s like karma, man!

It’s like… everywhere, man! It’s all so greeeen!

Anyway, I’m off to finish the last tweaks on my new Blu-ray player (got distracted watching “Moonraker” on Blu-ray… not the best Bond, but does have Jaws!! Richard Kiel was the man!). It puts out a really sweet picture; better overall 1080p video “pop” and more vivid colors than the PS3 that it’s replacing… too bad it’s a bit slower to respond.

Everything needs a Cell processor on board! Even John Henry. LOL!

  221. Regarding more Summer / Less Summer I am always up for more summer but not all
Summer,Summer ,Summer as some have suggested us Summer freaks want, and not in the way you are probably thinking. Serenity fans will get this best, what I am looking for is a moment, that’s it just a moment. One that equals three simple words that River Tam said to Simon… It’s my turn now. That line destroyed me, yeah the fights were great, but it was the line that did it. I melted like butter. That’s all I want. I did like the “you’re welcome” to Derek line, but it’s not melted butter.

  222. omg.

awesome ep. so many layers woot! woot!

unfortunately, i read in here by a commenter that TSCC is cancelled. frak me!

PLEASE JOSH FRIEDMAN FINISH THE STORY IN A NOVEL OR GRAPHIC NOVEL!

We need to get to the truth of Cameron’s origins/true intents. Weaver’s plan. The truth of John Henry’s “brother.”

    You created amazing original characters!

    Yes, I’ll admit, I’m a Jameronian.

  223. FOX BETTER NOT CANCEL THIS SHOW!!!!!

  224. @Dan: I know what you mean about the BluRay hardware. I hated the set-top boxes so much I just built myself a HTPC and slapped a BD/HD-DVD combo drive into it. Speedy as Hell and Only $90 (including the software). Can’t beat that. I’ll prolly buy T:SCC on Blu in the future (your future? No - your future…) :^D

  225. Could we get the longitude of the safe house please? All we know is that it’s in the desert, 33 42 31 N. Coachella is 33 40 N, so the safe house would be on a line slightly north of that.

  226. @Al B. Bach
“The dog should have made it to the boat with John. Much better storyline, and would have opened up a fun riff where the dog and Cameron don’t get along….imagine them both sitting in the back seat of the SUV, staring menacingly at each other, or vieing for John’s attention.”

I agree about the dog surviving and I would have loved to see Cameron and the dog face off.
LOL that would have been priceless.

I was rewatching it again today…and what really bugged me…very minor, minor point but has no one ever heard of seatbelts…I’m just saying…

As for Cameron running…my first thought was ‘Run Cameron Run.’

I think she would have had better aim had John been the one taken. She would have outrun the van and killed them all.

Hmmm when JH was disconnected he felt like he died…is that what Cameron feels when John takes out her chip? That she is dying? Or when Derek pulled her chip too fast out of the computer? It would explain why in Ep 1 S2 she didn’t want to go.

If we got higher ratings and were up against basketball then good for TSCC. I look forward to seeing the DVR numbers for this ep.
    Bring on season 3…somewhere.

  227. We’re not asking for all Summer all the time. We want her to have, at a minimum, equality with the other main characters. You’re much more likely to get that melted butter moment if the girl has more than two lines per ep..

Really Josh, this was a vicious trick to play on the fans and especially on Summer Glau. She has excelled in this role and it could have been a great career boost for her if you had let her run with it. 5 years from now people won’t be talking about how awesome the crazy f—in Sarah episodes were, they’ll be saying what a shame it is that Summer Glau wasn’t allowed to exhibit her talents in what could have been her finest role to date.

When people said they weren’t getting enough Cameron you said you agreed and led us to believe that you had fixed that problem. Then, you screwed us all for the rest of the season. I will never watch anything that you are involved with again. You’re a hack Friedman.

  228. Think I figured out the whole Derek Cameron future saga. Cameron, our Cameron, is from a different future than Derek. She is from Jesse’s future while Derek, our Derek, is from the future involving Billy Wisher.

This would explain why Derek, who was probably interrogated/tortured by Cameron at the Skynet work camp, has such animosity towards her. It also explains how he knew Cameron wasn’t Alison when he first saw her in the resistance base, re: episode 6 Dungeons and Dragons.

This also explains how Cameron didn’t know who Andy Goode (Billy Wisher) was, like how Jesse didn’t. It is likely that Derek was sent back in time first and made changes that altered Cameron’s future and her memories.

I’m sure there’s more but that’s all my tiny brain can think of at the moment.

    I love you Summer!

  229. @Dan B

John’s point was humans can’t be rebuilt not that they’re in some way unreliable. Obviously reprogrammedTerminators are unreliable - they “go bad” which would appear to me a far greater risk than any flakiness on the part of humans. However, John considers that preferable to risking humans to protect him. Death of Charlie being a case in point. If Cameron had been there she’d have taken out those goons easily whilst John and whoever else boated away.

@Everyone re time travel / timelines. Get a grip.

The only time they’re in the same timeline is when they’re in the same timeline, i.e. now. Flash-forwards to the future only represent that individual character’s memories and, further, compared to the now they only represent possible scenarios. We know they have already changed the future WRT to Derek’s POV, for instance (Derek’s description of the future disposition of the nuke plant, case in point). Jesse and Cameron could only come from the same timeline in the future if they had traveled back in the same time bubble. There’s no way that happened.

One reason the Terminators don’t go back and kill Sarah’s mother, or grandmother, is because the further back they go in the timeline the greater the unpredictability of the result of even tiny changes in the past. Time travel creates as many problems as it solves - case in point being the first film, sending a Terminator back to kill Sarah led to Reece going back and to the conception of the very threat they were trying to destroy.

What we know about the players after “To The Lighthouse”

    * John Henry / Weaver - possibly a future AI faction, possibly what the humans are fighting against in the futures we’ve seen so far. Currently, looks plausible that they’re a future faction that is either neutral or fighting against a Skynet derived from Cyberdyne tech and neutral/indifferent to humans and possibly a potential ally for humans.

    * Cyberdyne AI - not from the future, some kind of fall-out from the events of T2. May or may not involve US DoD / USG or some kind of quasi-government / deep black corporation. Appears to currently have no access to Terminators, though may know howto build them now after access to John Henry. Likely will acquire time travel technology at some point in Sarah’s timeline, likely doesn’t have access to it at the time of “To The Lighthouse.”

    * Sarah et al. Sarah may have alienated Derek via her actions in “To The Lighthouse” (though, as yet, the action with the Kaliba goons kept Derek from seeing what Sarah was up to).

    * Unknown fourth parties? Jesse still in play? Allies of Jesse?

And all you Jamerons - give it a rest! Nobody drools over Summer Glau more than I do but it’s Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Cameron is a toaster, blow her to bits and you can just switch on a new one. Take out the chip and reprogram everything, reset to factory specs under warranty. (For all we know, future John - or another party - programmed fake memories into Cameron for some purpose.) Nothing to see here, move along. Cameron, the character, is only relevant in so far as she impacts on the character development of the human players. She’s a Golem, an automaton, a soulless machine. If John invests any emotional energy in her then he’s not the future John who can lead the humans to victory, he’s crazy… like his mum. So far Sarah has shown herself pretty good at making stupid decisions and getting people killed, so we actually need to see more focus on Sarah getting her head straight before she gets everyone killed! I was relieved when it turned out John has a clue, it’s about time Sarah got the plot. Way overdue!

The one thing the writers could do that would make the Jameron thing really interesting is to bring Alison Young - who is alive somewhere in some future timeline - into play…

  230. Josh Friedman. I’ve been a fan of this show since I saw the pilot. I loved it and have been watching eversince. I’ve never criticized you before and gave you credit for achievements you made during the course of this show like season 1 and Samson and Delilah or Mr Ferguson is ill today. But now I’m gonna critisize you because I think it’s time. Where has Cameron been this season? In almost every episode I see side characters getting way more screen time than Cameron. The development of her and John Henry are by far the most interesting part of your show.

I never opened my mouth when I saw posters commenting on not enough Cameron since season 2 began but now with just 2 episodes remaining it’s clear Cameron is a side character. I thought some sort of payoff would arrive eventually but only 2 episodes left? If you put her in every scene in the next 2 episodes it still wouldn’t be enough to compensate. Not by a longshot and you had 22 episodes to do it!!!

You should get on your knees and apologize to Summer Glau for totally mishandling her. Obviously the most gifted from the cast and yet the most underutilized. And on the other hand, you gave Sarah Connor more screentime than all the other actors combined. That’s not balance and you need balance in everything to succeed. Too much wasted time on Sarah, Jesse and Riley while you shouldve been focussing on the threat of the machines. Their devolopment, especially Cameron’s has been almost non-existent. Words cannot express how disapointed I am. It will be impossible to wrap everything up in 2 episodes. You had 22 episodes man, 22! Enough time for better things.

Again, apologize to Summer Glau. It’s the least you can do.

  231. ROFL

  232. Hey Logan, Spot on! You beat me to several points:

Logan Said: 1) Savannah shows the effects of being nurtured by a terminator. Her grammar is flawless, but so unusual for a child. ?I am well.?

D888 Says: 1) I noticed this too with Savannah picking up the mannerisms of Weaver. It’s not just her gramma either. I’ve noticed that she sometimes moves/stands in a kind of robotic way too, except when she was skipping along the corridor in a previous episode. Very nice touch!

Logan Said: 3) Now we know what became of that roving back door uploaded in ?Complications?. SkyNet?s personally running the show against the Connors?no more unreliable unsurrogates.

D888 Says: 3) Yup, I was wondering when that would come up in the storyline. Although TSCC takes place in an alternative timeline to T3, it does bear similarity to the T3 plot, with a virus spreading around the net, disrupting phones & communications. The skynet AI might not even need to run on a single super computer, but be distributed across millions of computers worldwide, known as grid computing. If that was the case, just like in T3, there would be no easy way to stop it! This episode also reminded me of T3 when John & Sarah were in the car, with John complaining about the bad radio reception. But then in hindsight, that could have been interference caused by the transmitter implant in Sarah. One other possibility… What if Cameron had uploaded some kind of programme/virus when she was hooked up to the traffic system, “ARTIE” to crash it/corrupt it. Derek warned Sarah that Cameron may not come back out once she’s inside the city’s mainframe & what if it wasn’t the Turk, but Cameron all along? Not likely, but still a possibility! Purely looking at the design of the JH’s interface projected onto the wall, they feature a light blue animated cloud/gas like background theme & Cameron has a blue style HUD. When the virus attacked JH, the theme was black/amber theme, similar to the tracking display used by the guy looking for Sarah in the hospital & the guy that was about to remove Cameron’s chip. This is also similar to T888’s working for Skynet.

Logan Said: 4)Catherine Weaver represents a cyborg faction that wants to find a way to coexist. I would bet money that she was the terminator on the USS Jimmy Carter.

D888 Says: 4) Definitely! I predicted something like this back in a post I made last December after the last episode aired before Christmas. When the T1001 (I assume) told Jessie that the answer is no, that could have been the fault of the crew that had force it’s box open & also the crew member got killed as she did point a gun at it. Perhaps things would have worked out better had the crew not threatened the T1001? At the end of the day, if humans were no longer a threat or even became a benefit to Skynet (or another machine faction), it would illogical to continue the slaughter of mankind. I think it’s quite likely that Catherine Weaver is the same T1001 that was onboard the Jimmy Carter… Time will tell!

One extra point I’d like to make… I now think Boyd Sherman had been targeted by Skynet as he helped JH to develop. Now we know that there might be two different AI’s, perhaps judgement day is becomes a certainty should JH lose against the other AI. After all, it already appears to have nasty intentions, yet JH still seems to be more of a child still learning. Perhaps he has already learnt the value of human life, especially now after experiencing death first hand!

Can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode!

  233. John, I know. How does a show like this bring out the deranged people? I just didn’t see that coming.

Re: Summer/Cameron. Guys, let me repeat what Summer said. She “loved” this season. Let’s try that again in case you missed it the first time. She “loved” this season. Ok now, what part of that didn’t you understand?

Having the word “Terminator” in the title sure is a double edged sword for the producers/writers. If there’s not a Terminator running around killing people in every episode, some fans are freaking out. Apparently what they really want is Cam running around in her undies killing people in every episode. (hey, what would that do for the ratings? lol)

I’m a Summer fan too. But there is so much else to enjoy in this show also. I’m really surprised at some of the comments from people. So much hate and negativity. And it’s around such a good show. How does that make sense? It doesn’t.

  234. All too often, blog comments are a sad reminder that the average person is as dumb as a bag of hammers and, worse, 50% of people are even dumber than that. For sure, if such a thing as Skynet appears in the real world it will win without the slightest difficulty.

  235. @Gary, John Pate.

And you guys haven’t read close enough. Many are viewers moving over from Firefly, as stated. We got just a taste of Summer’s potential range as a young actress. We see her placed in the credits for a show called TSCC, and we bite.

But after 20 episodes we’ve had a total of one and a half episodes of Cam’s story. Most of the rest of the time she’s just standing there, or walking into the frame, and walking back out. Makes a comment or two, or just stares.

That IMHO is underutilizing Summer. She’s supposed to be one of the best infiltrator Terminators ever built, and yet you could probably point out that she’s strange most of the time. and easily marked. Even Riley said so. She should have been used for covert spying more often for the Connors to show a range in her abilities, besides a range in Summer’s. Or something.

It’s not that I don’t like the character of Sarah, I do. But as Tony has stated… where’s the balance?

I’d like all three main actors to get an equal opportunity to shine… to show what they’re really made of. I think Summer has even more in her than has been allowed to be seen already. We know Lena and Dekker can act because they’ve been doing it a lot longer and have more experience. Why not let Summer have a chance, and put some really meaty and challenging aspects into her character.

Give her an Emmy nomination worthy opportunity too.

If there is a Season 3, I’d like to see that balance happen.

  237. Sorry but this is true it is ridiculous

  238. But that’s what her character IS! A side character to Sarah Connor.

This show wasn’t written for Firefly fans. I have the Firefly DVD set and the Serenity DVD, and the Serenity Collectors Edition DVD. It’s not even relevant to this show. You don’t see me complaining. That wouldn’t even make sense.

By now you should know what this show is. It’s apparently not for you. I wish people would let the rest of us enjoy it without bringing all the negativity here.

  239. @Gary,

Got the Blu-rays of Firefly and Serenity. And as I stated… it’s about balance. You have three unique characters… and I think Derek is a side character… and three unique opportunities for development.

Sarah Connor, Cameron, and John… they can have equal love shown. There is nothing wrong with that. And the Terminators are even more worthy of exploration because we find humanity through them, of all characters. That was a central plot element, theme, and the central driving force for the story of “Terminator” in the first place.

The show would be that much better for giving balanced screen time and dialog, etc. to them.

Maybe some people aren’t getting that point.

And that’s what we’re talking about.

  240. Guys, you should listen to what 5-HT2A said: he has the best points in this blog to date.

  241. @nick85: “Think I figured out the whole Derek Cameron future saga. Cameron, our Cameron, is from a different future than Derek. She is from Jesse’s future while Derek, our Derek, is from the future involving Billy Wisher.”

    No nick85, it can be…

Because Cameron was already with the Connor when Derek killed Andy Good (aka Future Billy Wisher). Just rewatch Queen Gambit from S1. Cameron must have jump back in time after Derek but before Jesse. I don’t know when Weaver jumped relatively to Cameron, Jesse, Derek and the resistance fighter that wrote a bloody message on Sarah`s garage wall.

  242. EDIT: No nick85, it CAN’T be…

We really need an edit button… :)

  243. @Innocent:

    Mouhahaha! :D

5-HT2A must be John Henry`s brother… or a cousin on the mother side. Only machines can understand what he wrote! :)

  244. But people should know what the show is by now. And it’s not simply “Terminator”. It revolves around Sarah Connor.

If Toyota didn’t make a car that had everything I wanted, would I keep hanging around the factory parking lot and bang my head against the outside wall? No, I’d go find a car model that had what I wanted.

That’s what some of the posters here remind me of. It just doesn’t make sense to me. You know what the show is.

  245. @5-HT2A: I agree with you. Just because you said “Cameron” six times and “John” and “Sarah” only three times. You are completely right!

  246. So I held my mouth shut despite seeing flaws everywhere and now I have a bit of critisicm I’m deranged? No, I think you are since I last time I checked people had freedom of speech and were not labeled deranged if they had a different opinion.

Yes, the show is called Sarah Chronicles but you could’ve at least had Cameron do something instead of having her in a scene or 2 every episode. Her character is much more interesting anyway and it’s proven Sarah Connor does not intrigue people. She actually chases them away. The same goes for John Henry and Skynet. They shouldve spent more time on that storyline since that one is so much more interesting than Sarah endless stream of mistakes. I’m sorry but we were promised a payoff in the end and there is not enough time left to get it.

Josh Friedman, you shouldve chosen bad robot instead of crazy Sarah. This was not what I expected when I actively campaigned for season 2.

  247. Well, good news in all of this fan furor is the WB should now clearly understand that melding the TSCC storyline into the next series of Terminator films would be a win/win.

We could see Cam come back as both Alison and Cameron to tell the Cameron-bot origination story and how JC came to send her back to him…if it was him that sent her back. What studio wouldn’t want to feature Summer in their blockbuster ad campaigns? Hey, it would be a “Summer” blockbuster!

If we’re truly seeing the last of TSCC, at least we can hope that we haven’t yet seen the end of Cameron.

  248. Tony, but the defects are in YOUR eyes, not mine. I love the show. And Summer had some huge episodes. I don’t know how people missed them.

Let’s speculate. FOX decides to renew for another season, and the show garners just enough viewers to continue five more seasons, on basically the same format. I know you’ll say that’s not possible but let’s speculate anyway.

Will some of you people still be here banging your heads against the wall five years later? I hope not. Life is much too short for that. Find something you do enjoy. Believe me it’s well worth it.

  249. I dont care that chrlie died but why did they have to kill the dog

  250. Note to Skynet from John Pate-Nuke’m all-Nuke’m now-

  251. I think we could agree that Summer as an actress tends to underplay her scenes-she can haunt you with a glance or fewer than a half a dozen words-never wasted-an effective strategy. Lena has a smoldering intensity that resembles the brass section at times. The challenge of season2 has been to use both in alternation. Self-Made Man tells a strange narrative but shines with Summer. To me the essence of her work is the Cameron satisfaction smile-unforgettable.

  252. how do terminators eat food where does it go somebody plz awnser

  253. Actually the “deranged” comment was meant for things like people saying Josh needs to apologize to Summer Glau, the fans, etc. Those are crazy comments.

And for the people who are unhappy with the show, the producers already heard you. No need to keep banging that drum either. Give it a rest.

Yes, David. Summer is an amazing actress. I totally agree. So is Lena.

  254. Watching this season was like watching Days of Our Lives–boooooriiiing. Count me out as a fan.

  255. One that equals three simple words that River Tam said to Simon… It’s my turn now. That line destroyed me, yeah the fights were great, but it was the line that did it.

Almost as good was the time she took out three guys with three shots, eyes closed, and said, “No power in the ‘verse can stop me.” You could just imagine Kaylee’s pants filling.

I figure it’s distributed itself all over the interwebs like spambots do and it’s running in the background of all those computers the same way except it’s coordinating itself like SETI at home.

  256. Yes,
I am a big Summer fan and Serenity too. I didn’t even know who Summer, or what Serenity was until this show though. I became a Summer fan due to the pilot of this show, which she has a lot of face time. She actually save’s Johns life in this ep. She makes the big decision to jump time, She provides the info to start hunting skynet after the time jump, somehow out of this I got the idea she is a big part of this show. I keep watching and enjoying, but somewhere after Alison from Palmdale, I think I missed the “sweep Cam under the rug ” ep. During the winter break, and due to lack of re-runs I find about Firefly / Serenity, and am stunned at her performance and use. She didn’t have an overwhelming of face time, but it was done so good it didn’t matter. If a had a graph of each actors face time vs the minutes of the entire TSCC seasons, summer would slide rite off it at the return from winter break. Anyway it was this show that got me hooked on Summer. I didn’t even watch the first airing of the pilot due to issues with a black a haired Sarah, but a friend told me I probably should watch the re-airing of the pilot, been hooked since.
My biggest problem with her use at this point is in the pilot and for a few episodes she actually was involved in planning, now she is mostly used as filler material

  257. @Starkiller,

Almost as good was the time she took out three guys with three shots, eyes closed, and said, “No power in the ‘verse can stop me.” You could just imagine Kaylee’s pants filling.

Mine too!!! Yes that was a fond moment

  258. @Gary: “Will some of you people still be here banging your heads against the wall five years later? I hope not. Life is much too short for that. Find something you do enjoy. Believe me it’s well worth it.”

What if I greatly enjoy Summer’s acting? And sometimes I also feel that her talent is underutilized. Do you want me to wish a prompt cancellation for the show, so she could find a better job?

I love TSCC and I desperately want it to continue, but with you suggesting people to stop watching the show and to find something else we aren’t going to get the third season.

  259. This was a really great episode. I loved how there were 3 storylines at once - John, Sara & Charley now; Derek and Cameron now; and Sarah and John when he was a boy. At first I didn’t understand why they showed that last storyline but it made sense after John left in the boat. The past storyline involved Sarah leaving John to see what he would do and the second was when John finally left her. They were both heart wrenching. The writing and acting on this show is the best on TV!

I keep hearing that the show has been cancelled on the Terminatorwiki.fox.com discussion board. I’m really sad to hear this. I love TSCC and while I’m really enjoying the current season, but I’m also heartbroken because I fear these are the last new episodes we’ll ever see.

  260. “To The Lighthouse” was an excellent episode. I enjoyed the return of Charlie Dixon. The ending of the episode brought a tear to my eye, and I felt very sad to see another character make their exit from the show.

And a wet Cameron? Has to be the highlight of the episode. Almost as good as the “Walking Past John Wearing Nothing But Undies” scenes.

Here’s hoping you can secure a third season!

  261. I dont quite understand why the act of killing a dog in a tv show gets more cries of dismay than the act of people getting killed on daily basis on several different tv shows.

In real wars no one is spared. A bullet knows no sympathy and sometimes it seems that even the humans using those bullets seem to lose their humanity during the war killing soldiers and civilians alike.

For example horses were quite often used as food if the troops were low on supplies. Often the conquered cities were pillaged (houses looted, men killed, women raped and children taken into slavery) .

In tv shows we often get these sanitized versions of war. It just tends to annoy me that one animal getting killed in a show tends to get more responses of dismay than the act of people getting killed.

If we want tv shows that are based on reality we cant have the rule of no animals or children getting killed in them because that kind of stuff does happen unfortunately in real life. Though what bothers me most about the censorship is that people getting murdered in all different sorts of ways in primetime tv is quite ok. On the other hand say one curse sword on a show and get censored in a record time.

  262. not sword….one curse word*..yau for edit button

  263. LOVED Derek and Cameron scenes. They were perfect.
Favourite scene for sure was John and Sarah playing ‘bug slug’.
Favourtie line, John, “Don’t play bug slug Cameron. She could do some real damage”

    RIP Charlie and his dog

  264. @Etienne

Because Cameron was already with the Connor when Derek killed Andy Good (aka Future Billy Wisher). Just rewatch Queen Gambit from S1. Cameron must have jump back in time after Derek but before Jesse. I don’t know when Weaver jumped relatively to Cameron, Jesse, Derek and the resistance fighter that wrote a bloody message on Sarah`s garage wall

    ———————

I see your point and I considered this but here’s the problem. Derek didn’t know who Charles Fisher was and neither did Cameron YET Cameron - our Cameron - had to know him if she existed in the same future as evil Jesse (for lack of better term) because if E.Jesee knew about him, he was the worse of the Greys remember, then Cameron would have had to also. But when Derek sent her the guy’s picture she didn’t recognize it. Here’s the paradox, how can Cameron both be in E.Jesse’s future, know about the miscarriage, yet at the same time not know about the leader of the Greys? She has so much information and to not know about him is like not knowing who Skynet is.

What we do know for certain is that our Cameron existed in the same timeline as E.Jesse because she knew about the miscarriage. She didn’t know who Andy Goode was - but Derek did. If Cameron knew Derek by sight then chances are she’d know Billy Wisher too.

In theory as soon as a person is sent back in time every change they did automatically changes in the present because it already occurred. What I’m saying is Andy Goode didn’t die once but twice. The first time when Derrek was sent back (because he was sent back before Cameron) and then when Cameron was sent back she arrives at a point before Derrek kills Andy. If she went back in time with Derrek she’d know who Andy Goode was but she didn’t.

The future is always in motion which unfortunately makes things very very complicated.

    @Tilt

    Amen brother

    I love you Summer!

  265. I’m so glad this show is not what a lot of you “fans” wish it was.

I’m so glad it gives us episodes like “To the Lighthouse” – my favorite all season, and perhaps my favorite of the entire series. And it’s a shame that more people won’t immediately know why I say that. That they can’t recognize how beautifully done this hour of television is, in structure and theme, because they’re so obsessed with how many minutes of screentime Cameron gets, and how dare she be separated from John! And how dare there only be a few minutes of action at the end! Etc, etc.

And those of you saying you want Friedman out of the picture for Season 3? You have no idea what you’re actually asking for. Josh Friedman *created* and *wrote* the character of Cameron FOR Summer Glau. She wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for him. Give credit where credit is due, and realize that we wouldn’t have this beautiful, well-realized piece of sci-fi at ALL if it weren’t for him. It’d be unrecognizable, and we wouldn’t bother coming here to discuss it.

    Whiners.

  266. @John Pate
“And all you Jamerons - give it a rest! Nobody drools over Summer Glau more than I do but it’s Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Cameron is a toaster, blow her to bits and you can just switch on a new one.”
“All too often, blog comments are a sad reminder that the average person is as dumb as a bag of hammers and, worse, 50% of people are even dumber than that. For sure, if such a thing as Skynet appears in the real world it will win without the slightest difficulty.”
    @Gary
“John, I know. How does a show like this bring out the deranged people? I just didn’t see that coming.”…
Having the word “Terminator” in the title sure is a double edged sword for the producers/writers. If there’s not a Terminator running around killing people in every episode, some fans are freaking out. Apparently what they really want is Cam running around in her undies killing people in every episode. (hey, what would that do for the ratings? lol)”
“But that’s what her character IS!
I wish people would let the rest of us enjoy it without bringing all the negativity here.”

    John and Gary:
You are the ones who are reducing Summer Glau to an object. None of us are begging for undies scenes. We want to see our favorite actress actually have a part in the story and have an opportunity to show off her amazing acting skills. The defect is in your mind not ours. Further more, you clearly do not have the grasp of the story line that is required to make such comments. One of the premises of the Terminator franchise is that machines can become self aware. The movies make reference to the date that Skynet became self aware and initiated Judgment Day (Dan can probably cite it from memory). Cameron is a cyborg whose programming is heavily influenced by her environment. That means you cannot blow her to bits and switch on another one unless you had a perfect record of every experience that made her unique. She might look the same but she would never be the same and that is why her unique chip set makes her a sentient being. The premise here is that the writers are exploring the possibility that the machines uniqueness can be analogous to human uniqueness. So Gary we can’t go find another show that explores such a topic. This is the only one. However there are many shows and movies that explore the psyches of insane women. So maybe it is you who should look elsewhere.
While there are many things that make me agree that 50% or more of the populace are dumb as a bag of hammers, yours and Gary’s comments betray your roots in the lower half.
Additionally Gary you seem to be unable to think past the title. “This is the Sarah Conner Chronicles and that’s it damn it. Why can’t people understand that!!” Well Gary, probably because we can think past those three words. First of all, regardless of the title, there are a minimum of three characters required to tell this story. They are dependent on each other for a coherent story line and are therefore coequal. From a business standpoint, If you have a commodity that people want it is in your best interest to deliver it so that everyone on the cast can thrive. Once it became clear that Summer Glau was intensely popular Fox should have overridden Friedman’s decision to back seat her. Sometimes you need to think on your feet and make corrections in real time rather than implementing a fundamentally flawed plan. I can use an analogy here but I promised to keep my mouth shut on certain issues. Anyway, the popularity of Firefly and Serenity is absolutely relevant from a business standpoint. Just because you are unable to think in those terms doesn’t mean it isn’t a factor.
Finally Gary, we all have our opinions here. We have as much right to express our views as you do. Telling us it is inappropriate to be negative is just as ridiculous as us telling you you’re wrong to be positive about the show. It is what it is and we can all say our piece.

Ali I know exactly what I am asking for. Just because he created the character doesn’t mean he is the only one who can have an opinion about her. Summer Glau has an equal ownership stake in Cameron. Nobody would accept Spock portrayed by someone other than Nimoy and I dout anyone woud accept Cameron played by any lesser actress. It’s not whining it’s discussing. Only minds too small to accept other viewpoints make such attacks.

And Tony, you’re comments expressed what many of us think perfectly. You and I are far from deranged and I agree wholeheartedly with both of your posts. Josh definitely owes Summer Glau an apology.

  267. Ali Kryton

    Agreed.

  268. Discussing is fine, and of course people can have differing viewpoints. But comments become absurd when they call for the producer’s job, and say apologies to Summer Glau are in order.

What reality do these people live in?

Josh and Summer talk a lot about how the Cameron character is being used. How do we know that? Because they said so at WonderCon.

And let’s review that one part again for all who missed it yet again, Summer said she “loves” this season and is “very proud” of it. Why do people think there is a big conflict going on between Summer and Josh?

  269. Loved the episode…..I am so sick of these arm chair quarterbacks THAT ARE OBSESSED with poor Summer. Decrying a show needs to be written around a actress and making ridiculous statements about giving her apologies rings of a disturbed fan. Out of the blue insisting somehow that the show would be better if she was only featured more is another disturbing comment. Do you Summer fanatics start crying at every new interview and comment that leaves Summer’s mouth? Is she the new Beatles or Elvis to “some” fans? The woman /actress does a great job, Summer fanatics are hurting her public image and not helping it.

  270. The next-week preview at the end of the show threw out there “Only two episodes left!” Wha? It didn’t say “Two episodes until the season finale,” it said “Two episodes left”. Period.
    Did the show get canned??

  271. While I’m not calling for Josh’s removal, I understand those who do and feel the need to comment on it. Absurd is trying to squelch out other peoples opinions.

  272. Has any Cameron fans thought about the possiblity that the reason we don’t know everything about Cameron or her side of the story - beyond what we saw in the Allison episode - is because it is a major piece of the puzzle?

Right now all her character is - is a guard dog pure and simple because humans in the current time view robots as objects that do one thing.

This season we had several Sarah episodes, JC episodes, a couple of Derrick centric episodes, and a Cameron episode.

Doesn’t bother me abit and it should serve the purpose of the overall arc of the plot not based on popularity - I’ve seen too many shows that changed in theme because one character became popular - Steve Erkle anyone??

  273. Just popping in today to remind everyone that above all else, please remember to be respectful of each other and the creative entities associated with this television show.

Love it or hate it, express you opinion without taking a hit at others!
    -hadley

  274. @Snake…Amen brother.

@Robert, Gary and especially wisecrack slash troll notty. You guys don’t seem to realize this show, heading the way it is, is certain cancellation. Nobody wants to see Sarah centric episodes anymore. They should’ve taken a cue from last year but they continued this road with the back nine and it has killed us. And you people want to continue with this? I lobbied and campaigned a year ago to get season 2 and this is not that I fought for. I thought we were gonna get great stories involving the Connor family vs Skynet. No more no less. Instead we get Sarah….and that’s it. Oh no, I forgot, we also got Riley and Jesse. I did not see Cameron, Derek, or Skynet. I didn’t see the great John Connor. I didn’t see a lot of things I should have. It’s not just Cameron, everybody suffered because of Sarah time. No balance.

You don’t see Arnold in the movies being reduced to furniture in the background. WTF, it’s freaking Terminator. I wanna see machines fighting humans not crazy people mumbling all the time. If I want that I can watch a lot of other shows.

I’ll bet the last 2 episodes will be about Sarah again since I don’t trust a word Friedman is saying anymore. I remember reading your first blog about the show when the strike was happening. You said you kept following the ratings and what we said about the show. We liked it unanimously because it was on the perfect track. I remember defending this show with a vengeance because it had earned that right.

When the first 13 of season 2 were finished I defended the fatal errors because I felt Fox had wronged you with the bloody wall and Riley. But the balance was completely gone after Samson and Delilah. I defended because I still believed you would make the back 9 legendary. Oh how I was mistaken. Out of the 7 episodes I watched only 3 managed to capture a bit of glory. Not season 1 glory but okay. That’s not enough. Not by a longshot. And to those who say we can critisize the show. I have invested a lot of time and money in this show so I’m entitled to have an opinion even if it’s different from yours. I’m not some troll who talks crap with reasoning. I saw every minute of the show. It had huge potential but even I, a die-hard fan am wavering.

Because of the lack of Cameron I realized she is the strongest aspect and most intriguing part of the show. Derek is also an interesting character. And John, 10 minutes of great leader John Connor in 20 episodes of season 2. We should’ve learned a lot more about them instead of wacko Sarah. Out of the 3 main characters Sarah was always the weakest since the pilot not only with the fans but also with the critics. You should’ve focussed on John from the start instead of naming the show after Sarah. Biggest mistake.

If there will be a season 3 will there be equal character development? If not I’m not gonna fight for it. I’m sorry.

Apologize to Summer Glau and while you’re at it, do the same with Thomas Dekker. He’s been horribly mishandled too. I’m so sorry to act like this and no one is more surprised than me but that’s how disapointed I am. Remember, terminator is about machines, not the lack there of.

  275. Just finished watching this episode for a 2nd time. It was okay, but not great. I have come to terms that there will not be a season 3. I agree with so many of you, that season 1 was significantly better. It’s ashame season 2 took a nose dive. I enjoyed maybe 6 episodes all season. That’s it. I’m just sad that the season has been crummy. I hope to see all of the actors in something else soon. I know BAG has something lined up already.

  276. @ Tony,

Not sure how I got grouped in there. I agree with most of what you say.
My last comment should have had @ Gary & Notty22 at beginning. Hope
for the best, but its dimming

  277. Maybe “Terminator 4, Salvation” will be more of what you guys were looking for. Hey, I plan to watch it too. Maybe it will be a good one.

I like the Cameron character, I like Summer. In fact Summer Glau, along with this cast, are the only people in the entertainment industry I’ve been willing to wait in line to meet. (Actually the Firefly cast too) But you don’t see me whining about Summer’s screen time. As I’ve mentioned before there are so many other aspects of this show to enjoy right along with Cameron/Summer.

It’s hard to understand why people seem so upset, and call for people to be fired from the show. One person even went way beyond that, which I won’t repeat here. Even Hadley had to step in a while back.

Again, though respectfully, are these people living in reality? I have to wonder.

This is a great show. And SO much work goes into it by the writers, cast and crew. It’s extremely enjoyable. Best show on TV.

Unfortunately even some of the best shows on TV don’t get very high viewing numbers, and don’t survive long. I would love to have seen Firefly go on much longer too. It was sad to view the final episode and not have any more to watch. Very short lived. That was a wonderful cast too. Very special.

I hope this show manages enough viewers to continue.

  278. @Robert

My sincere apologies. I must’ve taken the wrong name. Not directed at you.

  279. @ Gary

Many other aspects along with Summer. What aspects? There is only Sarah Connor and she is not pushing the plot forward, she keeps making the same mistakes and her character seems outplayed already. The development of Skynet and Cameron has taken a backseat. Like I said, you never saw Arnold being used as a background decoration. You might enjoy it and think it’s masterpiece but I see what it could’ve been. Much better than this. The crew delievered pure magic in only 9 episodes in season 1 so with 22 episodes this would be a sure thing. Not. You might enjoy it but the vast majority doesn’t. How can that be if you have one of the most talented actresses playing one of the most intriguing characters ever. That’s a win-win situation and somehow he managed to screw this up.

  280. I just want to drop by and say “Thanks” for Hadley’s comment. Sometime, people forget to be respectful. Man, it is just a show! Or, may be Terminator began to be a cult and I’m not aware of it??? I’m not aware of it may be because in Canada we still live in Igloos? ;)

If you don’t like TSCC and prefer the movies: play the 3 Terminator movies back to back until the fourth film is out and leave us enjoy the rest of this season!

I don’t care about the screen time of one or other character. Yes, Summer Glau is cute and talented… as all the rest of the actors on the show!

And finally, if there is a 3rd season, I wish Josh Friedman will still be at the helm. It did a fantastic job to bring us characters like Cameron, Derek Reese, Catherine Weaver and John Henry/Cromartie.

Thanks all TSCC crew for the great hour of TV each week, I appreciate as many others that still tune in each week and watch the show again and again on Hulu and such!

Peace… or Skynet will come and get you! :D

  281. Hey Doug, I agree with you. Actually there were three Cameron-heavy episodes this season, they were great. Lots of other scenes too.

Agree about the main character story arc. It wasn’t totally what I expected during the season, but completely enjoyable none the less.

Tony, I enjoyed the other characters also. Including the ones who have been “terminated”, shall we say. Once they revealed Riley was from the future, that changed my whole perspective on that character. Really fun. I enjoyed Jesse too.

Some of the Jameronians didn’t but many fans did. I had some friends tell me it was horrible to watch Jesse’s story end that way after learning more about her.

Those are some of the things I’m talking about.

But that doesn’t even touch on Lena Headey’s phenomenal acting during the entire series. She is really special. I’ve become a huge fan.

And the mood they create with the show, Bear’s music, etc, etc. All of it wrapped together make for a great show.

  282. Secial effects and the film crew’s work too. Just great.

  283. Guys and Girls
I can’t believe how you all are fighting each other. If there was a time for unity, this is it. We should all be pulling together to try to get a third season. Just because they tore down the sets if not proof positive it is all over. They would have to build new sets if they were going to film a new season anyway. There has also history of shows getting a last minute reprieve and going on for another season. So let’s all keep the faith.
As the theme of the show Sais THERE IS NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE FOR OUR SELVES

  284. @Lee J.: Well said.

  285. why i don’t see the countdown on the tscc page ?

    can anyone help ?

  286. Tony, again you have said exactly what I’ve been thinking and have tried to get across but maybe haven’t been successful at. Well done. There isn’t anything I could add except for possibly stating that the fact that Ms. Glau has been so supportive of S2 is probably because she is a team player and a professional. There’s no way she would publicly speak out against the producer. I still have a feeling that privately she is heartbroken because she has expressed such a love for this character.

  287. The premise for this show was to see what happened to Sarah during the period between T2 and T3. Josh and the others felt that without giving a character that was so centric in T1 and T2 a simple “she died from cancer” was unjust. So they used the alternate timeline explanatipon to create a different terminator timeline than the one that T3 followed from T2. The main character is Sarah and even though “Terminator” is in the title it is to associate Sarah Connor as the Sarah Connor from the Terminator movies T1 and T2 and to identify that the show will be taking place in said Terminator universe. That’s why at the beginning of each episode it says “Starring Lena Headey.” Not Thomas Dekker, not Brian Austin Greene, and not Summer Glau.

Summer Glau’s character Cameron is what is known in television and the movies as a “breakout character.” A support character that made an enormously good impression on the audience and then many of the audience members quickly decide that the show should be all about that character instead. Yes the Terminator universe has always been about mother, son, and protector - and Arnold whether good guy or bad. But in the case of T:SCC the main focus was originally on Sarah’s mission to protect her son post-T2.

The above is the fact, point blank.

On the flip side though a show needs to be able to roll with the punches if it wants to stay alive. Since they did such a great job with Cameron she now needs to be shown more as well as to have some real character growth to keep the audience members happy.

It’s an unfortunate catch 22 where the writers have to figure out what to do with who in the course of 40 to 45 minutes. As Josh said it isn’t exactly easy to have a lot of Sarah and a lot of Cameron in the same episode since they’re each very dominant characters in the series.

Now to prevent me from also being an “armchair quarterback” I won’t state any of my own opinions or theories on what “should be done.” I’m a writer but I’ll be the first to admit I’m no Josh Friedman.

So before the next time you post remember where it all started from and then decide whether or not if the story is staying true to its roots, rolling with the punches, or if its going off in some wild non-cannon direction. Because that’s what Josh and the other writers are constantly thinking about.

    I love you Summer!

  288. Hey Lee, I agree with you. I’m doing my part, buying all the episodes off Amazon each week, recording in HD on my DVR, re-watching the episodes, bought the Blu-Ray Season 1 DVD, gave another as a gift, will buy Season 2 also.

Posting positive comments about the show, focusing on what I DO like. So if anyone at FOX receives a link to the forums/blogs, they’ll see that people enjoy the show and want it to continue.

That’s what people should be doing here. The complaints were already heard (again and again and again). No additional complaints are needed. They only hurt the show’s chance of survival now.

  289. Summer Glau is my wife now

    Her Shower was so hot

This show WILL survive or TV will become empty and meaningless

Summer Glau is my wife and great in bed

  290. And there, my friends, you see the REAL cause of the viewer numbers.

    “Nuff said.

    Lol.

  291. “Posting positive comments about the show, focusing on what I DO like. So if anyone at FOX receives a link to the forums/blogs, they’ll see that people enjoy the show and want it to continue.”

But that’s just it; I *DON’T* want it to continue like this. If Fox looks here, I want them to see that a good many fans are unhappy, and I want Fox to make some changes. Otherwise I fear another season like this one will damage the franchise, and then we’ll wait 10 years before someone will touch it again for TV.

It’s probably moot though, as the up-thread comments seem to indicate it’s already dead. I don’t blame Fox, though. I think if the show had been better, the ratings would be better, and we’d have sailed cleanly into a third season.

  292. Ok people, I found this wed site because I felt Summer Glau deprived too. I’ve watched every ep & bought s1. Plus firefly & serenity. If I still had a job I would own everything she was in. But lets be real here, I started watching this because it was terminator with alot of action in s1. But the longer I watch, The less Summer and the less action. Maybe its to exspensive for tv. I don’t know, But it does look alot like a sioap oprea to me. I used to worry about it getting canceled too. But when you think of terminator you think of action adventure. Maybe they used all there funds on S & D s2 ep 1. That was the best, We don’t know what happens up in the CEO’S office. But the end will be about money. Not who did what. Its all about money. So why start bad mouthing people? It was a good run, We didnt have to watch all the rest of the goofy shows on free tv. Summers coming so to heck with tv and play outside. lol. Just my 2 cents. Not looking for arguements here. Gary

  293. On the positive side, even the people who are upset with the content of the show, still watch it. It’s that good.

The producers have very kindly offered a forum for discussion about their product. They shouldn’t have to keep reminding us to be respectful when commenting.

  294. One thing I have noticed, I seem to stress more over things in the show I don’t like when I have friends over that I am trying to get to watch this show. When I watch it again alone it doesn’t seem to bother me as much. I could still use some more EL Fuego in my Fridays though.

  295. @Gary

“That’s what people should be doing here. The complaints were already heard (again and again and again). No additional complaints are needed. They only hurt the show’s chance of survival now.”

Gary: you are not this blogs sensor. I can express any view I choose. Quit telling people no more complaints are needed. As JC said, “It’s not your decision.”
The show is what hurt the show and while I did puchase S1 DVD’s I refuse to purchase S2 because it didn’t deliver what it promised. It isn’t worth the money.

  296. Robert,
Try Mad Dog 357 Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce.

  297. @Snake

Of course you can. And if you want to hurt the show’s chances of survival, keep it up.

The complainers are not what this show needs now.

  298. As I said Gary, it is the direction of the show that is hurting its chaces for survival. If it is to have a successful 3rd season these criticisms will help the show to get back on it’s proper and successful S1 track. We’ll support the show only if it is true to it’s roots and it’s finest performers. You et.al may not choose to watch if the show changes but the show could afford to lose 3M viewers like you if it gained 7M more in the process. It is possible that it is viewers who continue to support mediocrity are the ones who are truly damaging the show.

  299. This season finished production weeks ago. Complaints now will only encourage FOX to cancel. Think about it.

  300. The volume of traffic will only encourage Fox. There is no such thing as bad publicity. The fact that we are here kicking this back and forth shows Fox that there is passion for the brand. These comments can only help Season 3 precisely because production has wrapped up. Think about it.

  301. @Gary,

“Billy Loves” and his ilk do not speak for me or others who have been critical of the show.

Yeah, I’m frustrated sometimes. Yeah, I think the show needs to put Balance back in “the Force” with the character development as well as the ratio of drama, smarts, humor, and action… but we’re not nuts like he seems to be.

Please don’t lump us “complainers” in with his type.

  302. Here here Dan, I was wondering where you were.

  303. Ok, let’s try this from a different angle.

    Josh said “I hear you”.

What part didn’t you understand? How much more do you think is really needed?

  304. I watched the previous episode 3 times. I wonder how many time I will watch this episode. There are so many developments… I wonder if Weaver will go on hunt again and whom she will meet at Kaliba :) This is going to be so cool! She looked like she is going to kill everyone out there. Shirley plaid these emotion very well: not human like but slightly noticeable. Just cool!

Poor Charlie :( It is clear that he has no future but leaving him in the water like that was not fair. Life is not fair but he does not deserve it. He was a good guy.

Lena is just great. Big “WOW!” to her!

Garret was the best. Sometimes I think he is the best in the show. Playing Cromartie was not easy I think but playing John Henry with all these movements and mimics must be much harder. He is just awesome! I would give him my “best actor” award!

Fox cannot cancel this show. It will be the most stupid thing to do. This show is far beyond anything we had so far! I would be terribly disappointed by them if they cancel. This would be the most huge mistake they ever make.

Thanks to everyone on this show! It is WONDERFUL!!! It is AMAZING!!! Thanks a lot to the crew!!!

  305. Ow, I forgot! Can’t wait for season 2 DVDs! I hope they put many extras in it! I love extras! I want more background on John Henry and his “brother”!

  306. Dmitry, I watched again tonight too. It’s great. Lena is incredible. And the episode was well done. I just don’t see why people are complaining. The John Henry scenes were really fun too.

  307. @Snake,

Besides evidence to the contrary :D , I do have a life. I was up in the Rocky Mountains today. The crisp Spring-ish breeze playing amongst the lightly frosted alpine fields and grazing elk herds beckoned to me… and I had to answer.

Oh, and I was watching a portion of my Blu disc of “Galapagos” when I returned from my communing (that and “Planet Earth” and “The Blue Planet” are must-sees). Unfricking believable, the majesty and wonder and shear awesomeness of Mother Nature and the forces at play.

I still think that needs to play in there somewhere in the Terminator universe. Without nature, without the ability to cherish it, and protect it… all is lost.

  308. So let’s see what happens next season, Dan. Hopefully there is one. Josh said he heard you (the fans).

And with that I’ll stop posting for a while before someone here says I’m going to overtake Dan Hitchman in the number of postings for the month!

    Yikes.

  309. I find it interesting that not only did DirectTV (savior of Friday Night Lights) have a commercial during this weeks episode, it is also sponsoring episodes on Hulu now.

    Will DirectTV save TSCC?

  310. @Spudster,

Tune in next time as we ask… Will DirecTV hear our prayers? Does Murdoch actually have a soul? :D

    Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Station!

  311. New theory on why Cameron didn’t stop Derek when he went toward the van…she wanted to drive the Dodge Ram all by herself…!!! LOL!!! And who can blame her…it’s a cool truck! LOL!!

  312. Yes Direct TV. come save T:sCC and rename it the Cameron Connor Chronicles.
That should get a rise out of some folks.

  313. I think most of the people here are missing the point. Perhaps this episode or maybe even the whole season did not have enough Summer/Cameron for many people. However that does not mean that season 3(if/when we get it) is/was going to center more on Summer and her role in the grand scheme of things. Most of this season was focused on the character development of Sarah and it has been great. Some of you might not care for it but that is your opinion. There were a few episodes of mostly Summer and those were fantastic. Far be it from me to complain about Ms. Glau being on screen the full time. I personally would be all for it but that does not mean it would be good for a long term plot. For a moment though lets step back and think big picture(I am sure that is how the writing team looks at the plot/time line). If the writing team revealed everything they have planned in the first and second season then the plot would surely suffer after. Josh and the rest of the creative/writing team have done a great job thus far. Have a little faith in the people(writing team) that got you so interested and hooked on the show in the first place.

Lastly for the MOAR Summer fans I am positive her role has been developing as the season has went on piece by piece. If you want to see more of her and enjoy the Cameron character(she does a great job) then have faith sit back enjoy the last 2 episodes and do your part to secure a 3rd season. As someone else said, the development team hears you, the future of this show will have more Summer in the plot.

As for the “set got torn down” to me that means nothing, the whole set would have to be re-done regardless because as the past 2 episodes have shown us they are “moving” to another location and in a interview Shirley Manson said something like her character’s role had run its course. Keep your heads up this is the best show on television and we need a 3rd season. So to the writing/acting/creative team if we can help the chances for renewal just say the word and the loyal fans will answer.

  314. TSCC is the greatest show out there right now and one of the best there’s ever been. With just a few minor adjustments and improvements it can become such a massive hit!
I hope that Season 3 happens and we get our show back, get more action and more Cameron of course, along with John being a real man.

I want to thank the creators and every single person working on the show for brining us the dream.

  315. I watched the part where Cameron was “electrocuted” again. She shouldn’t have been knocked out at all: the live wire hit the concrete floor where she was standing, but the current would have gone through the water to the floor directly (ground). Had the wire hit her head, she would have gotten the full zap. If she had touched something with a lower resistance to ground, she would have gotten part of the jolt. Even if the current passed her way to ground, he metal endoskeleton should have conducted the current from one leg to the other without affecting her chip (assuming there was any potential difference between her feet).

So was this a writing mistake? Or just a water jug guy who didn’t know what he was doing, and Cameron decided to fake it?

  316. Tonight’s program has been brought to you by Ren and Stimpy.

    “Happy- happy, joy-joy happy-happy Joy!”

  317. @ Vinny

“Most of this season was focused on the character development of Sarah and it has been great. Some of you might not care for it but that is your opinion.”

Thats just it Vinny, it hasn’t been great. Not even close. Some of us might not care….It’s safe to say the majority does not care. Only the Lena Headey fans, since their heroine gets a lot of screentime. Unfortunately the quality has gone down the drain and they are the minority.

Again, my words may have sounded a little harsh JF but that’s how mad I am. I never get angry in real life but season 2 brings out the worst in me. I’m just disappointed. I’m a coach and one thing I’ve learned over the years is never bench your star player. We’re 20-0 down with 10 seconds left. Impossible to turn this around.

Fox, if you are listening, if you give us season 3 please tweak the show. I won’t watch another season like this even if Summer Glau is still on the show because she would be another glorified extra, like this season.

To Gary, nobody complained in season 1 there wasn’t enough Cameron because the balance was perfect. There was enough of everybody and it worked like a charm. It’s only Sarah now and she drives viewers away.

  318. Well since Tony explained it then I don’t have too. It should have been a balance and a better driven scripts throughout the season. Riley and Jesse should of never been in the show. It took away why the Connors came forward in time. To stop Skynet. It was way to much talking in most episodes, John doing nothing and complaining. It was tiring to watch that every episode. I don’t think one episode Riley complained about how life sucked. I’m not a shipper or whatever, but I’m stating facts about the situation TSCC show have put into. This is Josh fault and we should blame him and not Fox. For once I can’t blame Fox. Even if they cancal TSCC, I’ll still watch Fox shows because Fox gave TSCC a very good chance then most of their shows.

  319. @ Okay

I agree with everything you say, well, except I don’t watch other shows on Fox. I used to watch 24 back in the day but that’s about it.

To Hadley, I’m sorry for ranting and making your job a bit more difficult. I hardly ever post here but Today is the Day. I will stay quiet now and (hopefully) enjoy the last 2 episodes but I doubt the payoff will come.

  320. I will cite Gary here again because some of you may not have read his comment…

“Ok, let’s try this from a different angle.

    Josh said “I hear you”.

What part didn’t you understand? How much more do you think is really needed?”

The point is, even if you are complaining over and over again on this blog:

Production has ended already (when Josh wrote the “I hear you” post, he was shooting the finale episode of the season). So, If there is a season 3, hopefully Josh will have listen to the fans and we should have more of what we liked about season 1.

We should keep the discussion on this blog post related to the last episode… If you want to complain and discuss about what was wrong about the whole season, may be the Official Wiki is a more appropriate place… or maybe some Summer Glau fan site somewhere else… ;)

Here if you need a refresher on Josh post (on February 22nd): http://www.fox.com/blogs/terminator/2009/02/22/josh-friedman-almost-spoiler-alert/

Cool down guys and girls, has Josh said: “the horse has left the barn”. So, feed the horse and hope it came back for season 3. :)

  321. To all the posters above. When I saw the pilot I knew Cameron would steal the show. No Cameron, No show. Etienne, Josh says I hear you. He does hear us but he doesn’t listen. Maybe these repetitive comments will make him listen if there will ever be a season 3 because he promised things he did not back up.

The season is already shot, we know that. People can be angry and complain if it’s justified. I’d say in this situation it’s surely justified.

  322. I hated the episode.

So John Henry has been nothing but a pawn all along, just another resource for some greater big bad that gets introduced at the very end of the season? And the best we can hope for is that he doesn’t get snuffed next week but maybe becomes a sidekick to the Connors instead of being a sidekick to Skynet’s sidekick?

    F*ck that.

And what is up with Cameron knowing about Jesse’s pregnancy? Have the writers completely given up on paying attention to their own show and are just randomly tossing out info to fill the time before the great season three setup that will no doubt replace any sense of payoff in the finale?

And is Lena Headey really so bored with her character that she can’t even be bothered with learning how to fake making pancakes?

  323. wow ……..you know this is a episode blog, and we are supposed to comment on the ep !
not about the season or characters misused etc.
you can do that on the wiki, start a thread over there!
    http://terminatorwiki.fox.com/thread
we should stay on topic here.
if you didnt like the ep sure say why, but stick to this one episode.
320 posts and less than 1/2 are about the ep…. what a joke.
and i agree with some of what has been said , but this is not the place for it.

  324. I think the episode was good.

this whole series is very good!
Its one of the best in the moment!

I hope that there will be a third one!!
I want to see more of John and Cameron.

Congratulations to the makers of this series !

P.S.: I am from austria, and I hope that we will get the second season in german soon :)
In the meanwhile I have to look it in englisch with german subs.

  325. The style of the actiony scenes in the last ten minutes looked good. The music was good aswell.
The long shot down the road to the grey-goon’s van was cool, you could see that they were all alone, especially with no other vehicles around. The slow motion with JC and Charlie running away, then the last stand at the boat, was good. Again good music. Then the scene with Cameron going for Derek, again setup so each character was all alone.

  326. @Kea, and Cameron wanting to drive the Dodge Ram all by herself… you may be onto something ;-)

  327. No change are actually making, get bored and disappointed by each episode. Now Cameron is the only reason for me to watch the show, but it seems you are totally abandoning her for the sake of making Sarah Connor Chronicles. In fact I don’t see any problem of getting more Cameron on this show, season 1 have done great on that. Does Sarah Connor Chronicles mean Sarah Connor has to take more than 30 minutes screen time in every episode?

I think what you did and what you do now is bad for both Summer and Lena. Not giving Summer enough time certainly is unfair, with the side effect of upsetting and alienating the fans. While giving Lena too much time is pushing people to believe, if the show fails, her character and her acting needs to take the full blame. I guess a lot of people already think like that, I do. Sarah Connor has become a hideous character which has dragged this show to dullness and disorder. Can you just stop murdering TWO of our favorite characters?

Am I crying over the spilled milk?

  328. Hy guyz, hust a few considerations about “to the lightohouse” and what has has been written on those days.

To the lighthouse was a good episode; i saw it only one time, but i can say i liked the episode’s main themes : Derek - Cameron quest, Charlie’s come back and Sarah’s struggle us usual

Poor Charlie, he was one of my favourite characters in 1 season; his death was tragic, and his life was torn by his wife’s death.
He really doesn’t have anything left to Sarah, as he said. I found him very sad, but a real hero by saving john’s life again. A real warrior.
Anyhow, i found Charlie’s last moments not well realized, with that useless slow motion…a fluid locked action would have given him his right goodbye !

Sarah, sarah, sarah…her caharacter was sliding in the usual “mindgame” that trapped us in the lates episodes ( they were written by the same writers of this one, if i remember well): nostalgic, sad, complainig about her role, about her next death…but for the first time, there was a turning - point.
It was not a cancer, but a transmission plant…good!
She made another mistakes: leavin John alone with Charlies caused Charlie’s death, and John disappearing…poor Sarah.
Will she leave John? Will she betray him? in both cases, i think consequences will be terrible..
if she leaves, i think Cameron is going to betray John…but if she’ll betray, Cam will leave John…sob.
But what do you intend for leaving? Pyshical’death? Chip destruction?? If a 3rd season was programmed in authors’mind, notingh of definitive can happens !

Derek and Cameron: funny as well, but i found this “story” a bit unfocused, too fast and without particular involvement. “Wet” cameron? ok, that’s good…but it seems to me too fast when Derek passed from “i kill you” to “thank you”.
The story about Derek’s kidnapping and rescue by Cameron could have a lot of different intriguing shadings…but it was resolved too fast.
That was the choice. I accept. I’m not an author :)

These are a few “problems” in these late episodes: there’s always a primary hystory level, and rarely we go under the first skin.
Screenplaying and filmmaking are very linear…too linear (example: talkin’ about Jesse and Jimmy Carter, we saw her in a swimming pool while she’s remembering…very easy. too much? ), this gives us a sense of something missing.

Other question: Weaver’s history. They never met with the Connors. How is it possible to have a big finale with her and John Henry with only 2 episodes left? Too much time John Henry was left in that basement, i think !
In 3rd season he’s supposed going outside and killing everything !! :)

Ok. Stop with these anguishing thing ! I saw ratings going better (3.83 witohut DVR, we’re about 5 ml and more ! If there was some doubts about wievers, i never had: TSCC has a lot of viewers. A lot of vitals, complaining, passionate viewers…yess, i like this !)

I think 2nd part of 2nd season was about Sarah, as many of you said. This was Josh’s idea, of course.
And i think Josh’s ideas goes over only 2nd season…probably they will cover 3-4 season for a total envelopment!

Telling that Josh has to excuse with Summer is absurd…an author builds his ideas with his actors and actress. If Summer would have seen a bad show, bad histories or similar, the would have never accepted this role.
It was built on her, and effectively she was perfect, and she is nominated for prizes (remember June, folks !) with others !

About set…i think it’s normal that TSCC set was dismantled. TSCC’s works finished one month ago, probably they are looking now at ratings, business, Dvd ecc.
About TSCC airing live on friday of course. A set can be dismantled and remounted in one week.
Maybe will be different locations in 3d season? Probably…i hope !

About Fox: Firefly was deleted without mercy, i read. TSCC is being covered and sustained, by FOX trailers, by bloggers on Fox’s site (not all series got their personalized blog on Fox’s site), by a lot of fans. Fox is an observator for now, evaluating its investments on TSCC, takin’ time for serie’s finale and looking at fan and listening to the authors i suppose, and preparing DVD 2nd season edition.
I think it’s normal, any will be the final choice.

My final suggest about the show: we need to go deeper in TSCC dynamics. It doesn’t means only looking at Sarah complaining, John’s sad face, Cameron’s double -side pretty face .
he 1st season was perfect in this, and until episode 2×08.
Since now, we went slower and slower, less rythm,a bit of more approssimation, lot of introspection, sometimes too self-referential…we are feeling this.

Summer is a great actress, dynamic, she can light the scene with a single action or word; Lena is so strong and hard, always ready for action, Dekker is a fighter on stage.
Fans saw these strenght’s points little used in these episodes, and this makes them suffering.

Maybe i’m wrong. Maybe i’m missing all your theories about time - dropping, Cameron’s obscure mission, future JC death, parallels universes ecc..that are going to explode in this last two craxy episodes (very good 2×21preview…i can’t wait !!!!)

If so, i’m dumb. And i will be very very happy to admit it :)
But with this cast, this actors, i can expect everything amazing! Let us dream.

FOX, WE WANT MORE TSCC !!
JOSH, WE WANT MORE (intensive) TSCC !!

    greetings

  329. Amazing episode. It had the perfect balance of everyone. Well done!
Sorry Charlie is dead but still well done

  330. Oh yeah forgot to mention

Lena Headey is just flipping amazing at acting. Her gift for “trying not to cry” AMAZING.

  331. @Snake

Not only are you wrong in fact but, worse, your reading comprehension is faulty. Whatever your half-baked theories about what the AIs in Terminator consist of you ignore the significant portion of my post that demonstrated why Cameron’s “character development” is meaningless and therefore it is pointless for the writers to waste time on it. Fortunately they’re considerably smarter than you!

Skynet (and maybe John Henry) are the only two properly self-aware and arguably alive AI constructs in the Terminator universe. (Though I am somewhat on the fence about the T100x series.) If you can’t see why that is the case, clearly there’s no point in me explaining it to you given you don’t read what I write anyway.

    @Everyone

Re the Cameron reboot, which seems to be giving people problems. How about this, the simple explanation…

Cameron didn’t reboot, she (by she I mean “she” of course) played dead. Cameron had already been caught out by the old electro-reboot trick in “Samson & Delilah.” Presumably, being a learning machine that must keep itself functioning until the mission is completed, Cameron had the forethought to wear rubber boots and wait till the cable had shorted out the supply before falling down, thus drawing the assailants out into the open and off their guard. The real criticism I have with that scene is that it made it look like one guy, and one guy only, took on a Terminator and was holding Derek, which seems implausible. Maybe there’s a deleted scene where Cameron takes out a few more goons. (Special edition Blu-ray director’s cut maybe.)

  332. @John Pate: About Cameron electrocution scene. Caliba (Skynet) seems to be short of goon because only one was after John and Charley. Cameron actually killed one in the van, so one was remaining alive.

May be it has something to do with a red-head terminator blowing Caliba assets in the desert (and a couple of goons in the process)? :D

Catherine Weaver have more security people than that (there was a little “army” after Savanah when she played hide and seek with JH).

I’m looking foward those goons to try to get to JH… and be chop in bits by Catherine Weaver! :)

  333. I just rewatch “To the lighthouse” and hope that Savannah will survive past this season.

It would be cool to see Savannah in the future scenes, if there is a season 3. May be she could be part of the resistance (after all, her “mother” has secured precious assets already: coltan mines, serano point, and more).

I think Felicia Day (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1260407/) could be a good choice for future-Savannah . I never saw her acting, but she got the right natural hair color for the role! ;)

  334. Friday’s episode was great. The whole Sci-Friday thing is a good idea. I think the ratings will improve as both TSCC and Dollhouse gain followers. I tell all my friends to watch it, and they always enjoy it.

Definitely one of the best shows on TV right now.

  335. They wont cancel this show so people dont worry. I havent seen a show on tv that when there was no action in the ep it was still very interesting. Fox wont dare do it and if they do they are making a big mistake.

  336. @Etienne: Felicia Day would be perfect for that role! You should watch “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” if you haven’t seen her. It’s just awesome…

@John Pate: I think you are dead wrong about the Cameron thing and I completely agree with Snake, when he says that Cameron truely is unique. There are so many examples for that, that I really don’t know how you got the impression that Cameron is just a toaster. But then again, I probably also didn’t read your post on that topic…

Actually, when I come to think about it, I really do agree with many things Snake says… Must be the similar nicknames^^

  337. The Sopranos theme song? I beg to differ! This sounds so much more in line with this show. LOL!

The full Alabama 3 “Woke Up This Morning” classic.

    A-men, brotha sNaKeBiTe.

  338. here from http://www.serienjunkies.de damn right.

  339. Thanks sNaKeBiTe.

@Pate, I read your post., you’re just always wrong. I’ve tried to explain it to you but it’s like typing to a toaster or a bag of hammers. I won’t bother reading anything else that you post from here on.

  340. @D888

    In response to your comment:
” I now think Boyd Sherman had been targeted by Skynet as he helped JH to develop”. - I think this is highly probable. SkyNet targeted both Sherman and Ellison, who have been instrumental in John Henry’s development, which leads one to infer that John Henry becomes a huge thorn in SkyNet’s side.

However, I think that John Henry is still compromised because the WonderCon preview showed John Henry escaping/leaving Veira Corp at some point. JH says that SkyNet has been looking for him, so now that it’s found him…?

Another interesing point to me is that the SkyNet virus assumed that JH and Cameron have the same exoskeleton design. We know JH is a T-888 but we don’t know if Cameron shares the same design specs with that model. That might explain why SkyNet didn’t anticipate Cameron’s accelerated reboot after being electrocuted.

  341. I have a question for Hadley, Zack or any other member of the producing team.

I read on IMDB that the name of the boy playing young John Connor in “to the Lighthouse” is John DeVito.

I’m wondering, is he a relative of Danny DeVito?

    Thanks.

  342. EDIT BUTTON: production team

  343. @John Pate

In the very first episode, John looks at Cameron and says “What model are you…you seem different.” Cameron smiles, takes a potato chip from John, and says “I am”.

Besides, what sort of automaton wants to learn how to be a better ballerina for no reason other than she “wants” to learn?

(as far as being self-aware, several terminator models seemed to have passed the mirror test).

  344. On a quick note, all the fans complaining about how Josh has not used Summer enough and not enough screen time, go check out or revisit some of the Josh F. interviews, he has said several times he wanted to work with Summer for years and he specifically wanted her for the role of Cameron. To go one step further he talks about how talented she is, now that being said do you honestly think he would say those things just to make her a “background character” as some of you claim that she has been as of late. Josh and the writing team have big plans for Glau/Cameron I am certain of that.

Now on a positive note which I think this blog is in need of with all the negative rumors about the future of TSCC, from the numbers I have seen the ratings have increased (over the past what 3 weeks now? thanks Chad for posting the numbers the day after!) each week and with 2 episodes remaining it is something to build on. If we could break the 4mil mark by finale or more it shows progress so let us shoot for that and try to keep getting those numbers to climb over these next 2 weeks.

Also they said we would find out in May about a season 3. Seems to be 2 schools of thought on that topic. Some feel the show was a tool to get interest up for the upcoming movie and generate interest. I am of the belief that Terminator Salvation(released in May) the movie will bring back more of the old fans (that got turned away from Terminator 3: Rise of the machines) and if nothing else spark greater interest in this show and the franchise as a whole. Fox might realize this and keep this show moving based on that if nothing else. Terminator Salvation will bring more fans to this show plain and simple. So stay positive that season 3 will happen until we hear otherwise.

  345. Vinny,

He admires Glau but that’s something different than actually using her. She is a glorified extra. Ofcourse they want to give her more time in season 3 but we won’t get a season 3 get it. So no Cameron in season 3 or season 2.

The reality is that she’s a background character now. The writers should’ve taken notice when everybody told them Cameron is the show. It’s nicknamed the Summer Glau Chronicles for a reason. No Cameron, no show. The comments across the internet and critics will back me up on that. Such an intriguing character and such a waste.

Nobody cares about Sarah Connor except a few misguided souls on the wiki
They are completely outnumbered and think they know what Terminator is all about. They don’t. They only care seeing Lena Headey getting as much screentime as possible and that’s not Terminator.

The audience sees that. I think Josh Friedman has realized his vision wasn’t up to par.

  346. Vinny:

Everything you say is true. We saw the same interviews. Our frustrations came from the fact that we heard the words but did not see the result. There is a huge risk in thinking that it is possible to wait an entire season to develope a key character. That next season may not come. I and others are in the camp that thinks all of these characters are in the same vehicle so they should move forward at the same pace. Instead several are being bumper dragged. I really hope there will be a S3 to correct the issues but right now it’s anybody’s guess. If those high hopes for Ms. Glau are real they will need to show it right out of the gate at the beginning of S3.

I liked Lena Heady and her character when the show started but there has been so much emphasis on her that I have grown tired of her. I think her over exposure is as bad for her as Summers under exposure. As Tony said, “It’s all about balance.”

  347. Here’s a scenario. It may be that in the future John Henry is the leader of the machine resistance.

That Ellison’s lessions on morality and ethics have a profound impact on JH future behavior. Ellison’s impact on JH may be the reason Skynet sent a terminator back to eliminate him. I suspect the terminator Cameron destroyed in the elevator was sent to eliminate Dr. Sherman another treacher that was helping JH develop a bond with humans. I see Ellsion perhaps not as a father figure but as a wise and stern, but ultimately warm and kind uncle.

That Weaver’s mission is to protect and nuture JH to the point where it can function independently of Skynet. In this regard she may be seen as JH’s mother. One of the reasons Savanah is kept around is to help Weaver learn to act more like a human mother. Savannah also provides a human playmate for JH and JH certainly seems to have an attachment to her.

That Cameron is JH’s daughter. Her task is to link John to JH to convince future John that he has a secret ally that wants to help him but is not in a position to this openly. Hence we have the answer given to Jesse is response to the question “Will you join us?” I read the answer to mean: No I will not join you openly, but I will continue to help you. Yet regardless of this answer, JH knows he must keep John Connor alive if man and machine are to achieve a reconciliation that benefits them both. Future John is the only human that can make this happen, he like a combination of Washington and Lincoln, so Cameron is sent into the past to protect and educate John. Remember when Cameron asked Sarah if she believed in the ressurection of Jesus Christ? Perhaps her fate is to make the ultimate sacrifice that in the future will reconcile man and machine.

JH’s great problem is that at present he is a much less powerful AI than Skynet. His major battle from here on out is to keep from being overwhelmed and perhaps destroyed by Skynet. I think this a battle that JH cannot win and he will have to agree (or be forced) to be incorporated into Skynet to preserve himself. In that case it may be many years into the future where JH is able to take action against Skynet. Certainly in the near future he will be unable to prevent J Day. But as the human resistance begins to succeed against Skynet and Skynet’s supervision of its subordinate systems lessens. Then JH will have the opportunity he needs to act independently of its master. Perhaps JH is the day to day controller of the war in Australia and South Asia which is why the resistance is succeeding in Western Australia and the Jimmy Carter had to go to Indonesia to pick up the message. By the time Skynet can recognize that JH is working against it, JH will have become too powerful to destroy and the end game in the war will be all but lost.

  348. @ Jack
LOL we’ll its true :) …they never let poor Cameron drive. How else is the girl suppose to get behind the wheel. Plus you honest think Derek is going to take the keys from her after she saved his life…I think not!! At least that’s my impression of that scene. :)

    @ Bill
I think Cameron was playing possum. Girls a smart terminator. :)

Also did you see the FOX April 1st promo.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNA1aIWzDwo
You see TSCC’s TD, SG and BAG.

  349. @ Mark

I totally agree, i actually thought i had written that for a moment as i was called Mark on here before. Ive changed my name so it doesn’t become confusing.

  350. @Kea,

So, Cameron’s been watching nature documentaries late at night too! A-ha!

Yeah, wearing the rubber soled shoes didn’t hurt either.

Fool me once… shame on me… twice… you won’t fool me again. Hmmm…

Now, how does that saying go again? LOL! :D

  351. Hello pals and friends of TSCC
    I love this show sooooooooooo
much. Summer is great as Cameron
The rest of the cast is great aswell
I hope FOX DOESN’T CANCEL this
because this is the only thing I watch
cause EVERY OTHER SHOW ON FOX
THAT IS on fox has probably had lackluster
    ratings at one point
    PLEASE DONT CANCEL THIS FOX!

  352. What was your favorite special effect in this episode? I’m torn between the squibb jacket and the bullets hitting the sand, at 1080i they blew me away. The tearing of the fence really made tweeters jam and that huge beach explosion at the end blew my subwoofer away. I’m just bracing for when Sarah burns some pancakes.

  353. Robert,

It always has a special effect on me when they finally put Summer in a scene. But I’ll have to go with the Beach explosion. It really rocked the house with a Cambridge 550W sub.

  354. I’d go with the squibb jacket, but tbh it wasn’t really that amazing. I think the beach scene with the bullets hitting the sand could have been a lot better if it had the sound effects in the background instead of that weak music score.

Sorry to be a little bit negative but i just think it could be a lot better. Saying that i still loved the episode, just wish they would watch a few eps of 24 to see how it should be done.

OT: Is it actually called a squibb jacket? Or is that something Summer made up lol The first result when i googled it was that article with Summer and Josh talking about the back 9.

  355. Absolutely Mark A. They could learn from 24 in that regard and on small unit tactics as well.

  356. I’m a little late in posting on this ep but still wanted to point out that I really enjoyed it! Great job to all!
