No, neither Derek nor Cameron will die, I guess. At least Cameron was mentioned and seen in the promo stuff for 2×21 (and we all know Cameron dies = the show dies). Derek was actually not… but I don’t think, they will kill him off. Which doesn’t leave much choices open, Ellison or Charlie. I vote for Ellison, get rid off him and all of his boring seperate storylines, which are just distracting us from all the Cameron goodness. ;D
Woohoo this episode is going to be epic. We have tons of action coming our way and someone won’t make it through. My guess is Derek but who really knows? Interesting to see Charley is back. I kind of feel bad for him as he is caught up in the mix so much. I looked back at the WonderCon preview and saw that most of the action from it is in this episode so I guess that will appease the fans that only want pure termination, but hey, it still makes a great episode for the rest of us too. I noticed that this episode is the last one that the description mentions Cameron and Derek. That doesn’t necessarily prove that one of them will die but it’s something.
BTW Notty-I think you’re heavily outnumbered in the ratio of who likes Cameron and who doesn’t. We all love her.
GAH! It’s only Monday…
In this episode there’s a new terminator who will tase Derek and kidnap him: is Cam running after his car when he gets away with an unconscious Derek? Could make for a fun moment if she saves his life…

Tourian, I like Ellison’s character but I think he would have been better utilized as a Connor ally fighting along with them(when they get around to actually fighting). But, I’d have to agree, I’d have him terminated in a heartbeat if it gave us more Summer time.
That must be a stunt double for Summer running down the street, she doesn’t run like that. They used a double for running away from the camera in Gnothi Seauton when Cameron chased Vick around before she got hit by the car. But the scene of her running away with John & Sarah after getting pushed out the window and landing on the trash bin, now that was Summer. Not important, just funny. Something I seem to notice.

SERIOUSLY? There are like 4 WHOLE days left til next episode? NOOO!! On the thought of who might bite it. I’m gunning for either charlie or dereck. I’m hoping against hope it’s not Cameron; I love her!!! Plus, when and if (insert crossed fingers here) season three comes I will be a crap load more privy to watch if Cameron is in it. Plus how will the gang defeat Weaver if Cameron is dead dead deadskee? Come on Friday, i’m on the verge of a HEART ATTACK!!!

I noticed my library doesn’t have TSCC S1 so I contributed two new S1 DVDs to their rental collection (I’ll take the cost off on my taxes). Anything to get new comers interested in the show.

I believe Sarah Connor spelled out in “The Demon Hand” the method the machines will use to subjugate humans. She said, “There are things machines will never do. They cannot possess faith. They cannot commune with God. They cannot appreciate beauty. They cannot create art. If they ever learn these things, they won’t have to destroy us. They’ll be us.”
Does Cameron appreciate beauty? Doesn’t she listen to classical music and dance ballet? Didn’t John Henry asked to speak with God, to question God? Isn’t John Henry creating art? Doesn’t he ask about friendship? Hasn’t he searched for the soul through the the window to the soul; the eyes? When he wished not to be turned off by Ellison, did he use physical violence or power of persuasion to convince Ellison? Have the machines evolved in their abilities and techniques? I think they have.
Will machines push the buttons that eliminate humans from the Earth, or will they convince humans to do it to themselves?
Catherine Weaver is creating the ultimate terminator; one that will break minds instead of bodies.
It’s whether or not we can ever live in peace… neither side subjugating the other… each side using the strengths and weaknesses of the other for mutual benefits…
for mutual survival.
If humans die out… those machines that are left have nothing… no purpose.
Skynet wins and gains nothing.
The same as if all machines are wiped out. The humans have lost a valuable new species (those that are evolving) and a potential source of knowledge and strength and individual thinking.
That’s why I believe they should take a tip from nature, and put that into the equation.
It goes back to the love and nurture of nature. Without nature… neither Terminator nor human can survive.
JD doesn’t just wipe out most of humanity, but the ecology of the world as well. You love nature, respect nature, want to conserve and protect nature … and you help save the world.
That must be addressed. That would tie in beautifully with today’s issues of the environment and severe climate change, and habitat destruction.
It all goes hand in hand.

I quite agree. In the end, with humans becoming more machine-like, and machines taking on human characteristics, at some point neither side will be able to tell which is which.
If you attach enough mechanical parts on a human being, when does that person stop being human and become a machine? Conversely, if you attach enough human components to a computer chip that can work the parts through electronics, at what point does the computer chip become human?
It slices, it dices, it julienned fries… AND it does your income taxes and walks your dog too!

One can learn from this… the better the quality and “tightness” (a Cam term) of the episode… the higher the numbers. It ain’t rocket science.
I can only surmise that S3 will not have some of the issues that a goodly portion of S2 did.
Looking at the DVD numbers and then guessing the Hulu.com numbers and Fox.com (FOD) numbers, I’d also say that if TSCC was not on Monday or Friday, but at a premo slot with a good tie in, and really top notch episodes (where everything just “clicks” and “pops” and you have a good blend of acting quality, directing quality, action, suspense, and drama, with a smidgen of humor and humanity, and making things just a little bit less dark sometimes to switch out the mood– taking into account the mood of the populace at the moment)…
We’d probably be in same league as Lost or some of these other prime time sci-fi/action shows. And the Emmys and Golden Globes would be flowing in.
TV ratings numbers… not DVD. duh! LOL!
Anyone wanting to explore the idea of a computer becoming human should consider reading “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein”. Heinlein was one of the giants of Sci Fi and this Hugo Award winning novel is one of his best. I’d be willing to bet that James Cameron, Josh and the writing staff read it at one time or another. Perhaps a number of posters have also done so. It is highly readable, highly entertaining and highly recommended.

Hey the DVD numbers count too. BAG said in an interview that S1 DVD sales convinced WB/Fox that the show’s popularity was understated by the ratings.

I stand corrected. I didn’t know that Fox would care if WB gets the money from the DVD and Blu-ray sales.
Perhaps WB can sweeten the deal with giving a small slice of that pie to Fox.
Plus cushy deals on promos and tie-ins for Terminator 4.
Dark Angel was based on Robert Heinlein’s character ‘Friday’ so you know James Cameron likely read some Robert Heinlein stories.
That is SO sad please say there are only 30 episodes left.

Dos Equis, is a beer, just aired this week, one I had not seen on TSCC before. So I told someone on wiki who had posted all the companies to give instead contact information for some or all of the companies.
I e-mail my cell phone company. The car manufacture I drive advertises on the show and you can bet I will be e-mailing the company. Bought enough cars from them?they might as well show me some TSCC love.

No. For one thing, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronciles was bigger (3.7 million, per Nielsen stats as reported by MediaWeek), and for another thing so was Dollhouse (4.1 million). Terminator was up a little from its performance last week; Dollhouse was about even.?

Blade Runner is a movie that really explores the question of what it is to be a human. To me it seems that the terminator tv show explores some of the same questions which were asked in the movie.
For those who havent seen Blade Runner I recommend that you watch it as it is one of the classic scifi films of all time.
By the way thanks to David for linking that article of Josh Friedsman´s interview. I found the following quite interesting:

This statement kinda backs up the theory that Cameron is the factor which makes John Connor grow from the boy into the man that will one day be known as the leader of the resistance. With Cameron John gains his independence from his mother.

I said what I felt would help put the show over the top in the ratings:
1) New night, new time, new lead in
2) Better, more appropriate advertising (more like they’re advertising Terminator and not a Quentin Tarantino movie).
3) Promo tie-ins and exclusive ads and behind the scenes and sneak-peaks for Terminator 4-6
4) Keep the writing consistently solid (the last few have been much, much better… just keep building on that foundation and keep improving).
5) Don’t let the stories and inter-episode plots meander and sit and stew or important plot points sit on the back burner for too long.
6) Stay focused
7) Stop with the superfluous side characters
9) Keep the tone and overall ambiance variable… more balanced. Not just dark and gloomy all the time.
10) Kick in more of the humor and “humanity” that seemed to go over well in S1(”I’m a bitch whore.” “Is there anything you want to tell me?” “Here’s a tight present for you.” “They won’t wait for her.” The bad guy in the trunk scene, the eye liner/makeup scene, the majestic ballet in the bedroom scene, the wink, etc.).
11) Don’t dump too many negatives onto the main characters to seem like it’s one big pile on
12) Add some hope
13) Keep the goals and missions of the show and the characters front and center
14) Fewer “wouldn’t it be cool…if…” episodes (like the Terminator caught in the 20’s… the main focus of Cameron and the sick librarian was more interesting). They seemed to be a distraction to the goals and messages in S2.
15) Give us an answer about Season 3 sooner rather than later.
16) JUST STRAIGHT OUT GIVE US A FULL SEASON 3, AND NOT LET THE FANS AND THE CAST AND CREW HANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Won’t be John, the world ends with him, and then what would the series be about?
Cameron? No way. The Sarah-John-Cameron relationship is the central dramatic element.
On the other hand, Charley Dixon’s back this week.
It’s kind of like in the original Star Trek, when Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Doctor McCoy, and Ensign Smith beam down to the new planet. One of them’s not coming back…

Someone on the cameronandjohn.com forums said that they have a friend who is a Best Buy regional manager, and every Friday night they are going to put TSCC on every TV in every store he looks after!

Dan, your #10 is my big favorite. On the S1 commentary tracks, Josh Friedman makes fun of the “terminator in school” parts, but those were some of my favorite scenes. A lot of the fun of watching Cameron is seeing her with people who don’t know what she is. (”Self Made Man” was an awesome example of this—I really felt for the library geek, meeting this strange, mysterious young woman who talks him into shooting a gun in the library…) We need more of that.
Oh…I forgot one…
17) Cameron’s Built-Day. A great way to show some tenderness and affection towards all the characters and not added negativity.
What would John get her that would say “I haven’t forgotten you, I do think about you” and “you are very special to me?”
1) An antique copy of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” with original illustrations?
2) An intricate wooden music box with dancing ballerina? John is saying… I know more about you, Cam, than you think.
3) A German Shepherd puppy?
Cameron is utterly surprised by the box John sets on the table in front of her with the holes cut in it, wrapped in a red ribbon bow. It’s moving and making scuffling noises. She’s totally baffled, not doing anything with it (as if a snake is lurking inside).
John [goading her on]: Go on, open it.
Cameron: What is it?
John: If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise.
Cameron: I hate surprises.
John smiles at that.

The dog actually likes this particular Terminator.
John [also a bit stunned]: So, Cam, what are you going to name it?
Cameron [thinking for just a moment, hesitates]: “Max.”
John [looks... touched in some way]: Cameron… this is your dog. You can name it anything you want… and It’s female.
Cameron [holding the pup tenderly to her, looks at John]: I know. I just did.
John [slightly misty]: Thank you.

Moving onward… Max has just left her own “gift” for the household.
Cameron sees it, then looks at the dog, sitting there, head cocked, looking back at her… like she’s saying to Cam, “what… who… me?”
Cameron: What am I going to do with you, Max?
The dog says nothing, it just lies down and cowers slightly, and looks at her with big, brown eyes, soulfully.
Cameron: I’m not going to kill you, so you can stop looking at me like that, and I can’t harshly discipline you… Cesar Millan says that’s a bad idea.
The dog perks back up.
Cameron: Looks like you’re off the hook… this time.

Don’t worry if they “kill” Cameron - they can just build a new one. Camerons are like toasters - well, except much, much, much, much, much prettier!!!!!
Actually… they can kill anyone and have another copy come back from the future… after all… that’s what happened with Sarah!
You guys just aren’t relaxing into the whole time travel thing. The writers have done very well so far, I just hope they keep it together.
Season 3 - my betting is Fox will be keeping an eye on “Terminator 4″ and Season 3 will depend on T4 not what’s happening with TSCC, unless the ratings go absolutely insane for the finale.
Well let’s see. My prediction back in Feb was: Riley will die, Jesse will die, and Charley will die.
Sarah will betray John and Cameron will abandon him.
Be a real plot twister if Derek died in this one instead of Charley but I doubt it, he’s too much of a fan fav. We’d also have to see him being tased and kidnapped as well. Finally I think the only reason he’s fighting Cameron is to both see a kick ass Terminator vs. Resistance Soldier fight that we really haven’t seen since terminator one and also to keep the audience guessing about who’s going to bite the bullet. Signs point to Charley
As for Sarah not trusting either of them? I can see that she can’t trust Derek because of how he kept Jesse hidden from them and as for Cameron? Sarah must’ve noticed she’s been more glitchy than usual. How will John take it? Probably not that well and if my predictions are right by the end of this episode we’ll see the scene of John crying outside the hospital in mourning of Charley’s death (you can see it in the E! spoiler reel, when Garret starts singing “Donald get your Trousers.” Josh I have to say you really know how to torture your characters, especially John and Sarah.
If this episode happens any other way then I will genuinely be surprised

Just rewatched the clip and we do see Derek getting tased and put into the van, then (if you watch carefully enough) we see Cameron chasing after the van shooting a pistol. If Derek dies it won’t be because of Cameron.
And as for keeping John hidden from Cameron?

I can leave with long philosophical posts if they are related with TSCC. Also, I don’t read posts with character dialogs or proposed scenarios… There is some fan fiction sites out there that are better for that.
I got a theory about these new guys. Weaver doesn’t seem to be Skynet but rather some other faction, let’s face it she never made hunting John a priority. So if that’s true then this new batch of guys and terminators are probably the real deal since they’re going directly after the Connors.
Three episodes left, it would be interesting if Derek stayed prisoner for the rest of the season. That way John really would be “alone” at the end. It would also be one hell of a cliffhanger!

I think that if anyone from the show actually read these posts, then they are wanting a general consensus of all the fans , and what they think about a particular “topic”.
they are not intereseted in alot of posts from 1 person, or conversations between posters.
some of your ideas about what the show needs, are ok, but again they are off topic. you should start a thread on that subject [ on wiki ] and just put a link here. then anyone who wants to read it can , if not , it is easy to scroll past. and others would come to that thread to post their ideas, maybe even writers etc..

it is late, but so I dont know if it would help or not, but if you told fans to take note of each ad, and then contact the company , to thank them they might do it.

most people dont watch the commercials, but a show that is in danger, the fans wjould be willing to pay attention to who advertises, and watch the commercials, and that ought to be worth more than a higher rated show where no one actually has to care about the ads ????

@ T5000 about the advertisers there are some top notice ones for TSCC and it does not hurt at all to let them know we watch. Also include the product placement ones such as Dodge in there. However we need direct links where people can send instead feedback to the companies.
There is a list at wiki and at the scs.net about some of the ads. But again we need the direct feedback links.
I have noticed but if you fast forward commercials you tend to watch more closely and see the ads. Sure they fly by but they stick in your head.

I think JF is plenty smart enough to realise that a part of the growth of John is realising that a robot girlfriend is a machine and thus cannot truly love him even if he loves her (actually, it). The Jamerons are crazy people to think otherwise! No offense intended Jamerons - like John Henry, I’m simply making observations here.

Summer Glau is a goddess and I worship her. And, as I said, very much prettier than a toaster.
John, in a perfect world without continuous stress JC should be able to look at the problem as you state it. However, stress causes aberrant behaviours. Consider drug addicts who put things in thier bodies that they know can and will kill them. This is not rational and is done to escape stresses that they find unbearable.
Now consider the stress that John Connor faces. He has the weight of all humanity on his shoulders. I can see where he might consider a few moments of escape with a robot girlfriend. From his point of view he has been betrayed many times. He knows he can trust Cameron and in his mind that makes her a safe escape. It is not normal or proper but neither is injecting your body with poison yet, it happens thousands of times per day. He may well know that Cameron cannot love him but he can make himself believe it for a time to escape the unrelenting pressure and loneliness that he faces.
It does fit the storyline if that is where things are headed.
And I completely agree, Summer is a goddess and much prettier than a toaster, or an apple pie(speaking of aberrance).
But…
@John Pate… that flies in the face of even JF acknowledging JC’s (Mr. King of the World’s) idea that T2 had a father/son element between one human John Connor and one big, bad Terminator.
