The LA Times recently profiled Garret and talked with him about his love for the series and his new film, The Last House on the Left.
There’s been lots of coverage on Shirley’s recent gig hosting an interview with Bono and the boys from U2. The Chicago Tribune blogged about it. Our Weaverbot also spoke with a few sites like Chron.com and Digital Spy about her big transition from music into acting.
Any other links you want to share? Post them in the comments!
Shirley has refuted the “quitting the music industry” reports on her Facebook page (yes, it’s official, the page was confirmed on Garbage.com)

Darkling Angels
Just a quick note to say
A) It is absolute nonsense that I am “quitting the music industry”.
What a load of bollocks. I have no idea where this report came from but it most certainly didn’t come from me. I am not a quitter. It’s just not my thing.
Perhaps it’s wishful thinking on behalf of a journalist or journalists even but oh woopsie too bad, sorry to break it you you but the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
B) I am having an operation tomorrow morning and in the unlikely event that I die or become brain damaged, can I just say that I have had the most wonderful life and can’t think of a lovelier way to have lived than to live creatively and have people like you lot support me in that endeavour.
So like I said……..just for ass coverage…..
Thankyou and Goodnight. You really have been a quite marvellous audience.

I love how Garret is always refuting and attacking the ratings for TSCC. He’s such a cool guy.
I don’t care if he’s hot and shirtless in LHFTL - I don’t think I could handle watching that one of his *Shudders*
Well…maybe I can…because he IS hot and shirtless….
Garret was awesome as Cromartie. I miss his antics!
Manson’s rookie card in the acting business should be worth a fortune a few years from now. I think people are stunned at how well she’s doing. The producers probably thought they were getting eye-candy and curb appeal, but instead, Shirley delivered the Full Monte. Always nice to get more than you paid for. Best of luck with the medical procedure. Hurry back.
Props to Garrett for telling how it is as well as Shirley. There are just too many rumors and pessimistuc viewpoints for a great show like T:SCC and to see a guy like Garrett not backing down an inch is really inspiring. Perhaps more so than the entire show itself.
Not many comments, I wonder why since Garret certainly is one of the most interesting actors of T:SCC. I can’t say that rape and abuse are very attractive to me but I’ll try to watch any other work he’s done/will do.
This blog comment makes you think (and hope for a S3 somewhere). For anyone who has not read it yet.

DESERT CANTOS GAINS 35% WITH DVR NUMBERS
by Erika Blake
For the second week in a row Terminator killed in the DVR playbacks - gaining a whopping 35% increase which added another 1.475 million to the initial overnights. One thing to remember is that currently industry analysts believe that only 21-24% of households in the US have DVRs and that by 2012 they’re expecting that number to be as high as 41%. So what does that mean for our show now? It means that the most techno-savvy TV watching consumers in the market are using their DVRs and using them often.
A recent report came out saying that SAMSON AND DELILAH showed the largest Fall 2008 premiere for a DVR playback w/ a whopping 70% increase to its ratings. Although our overnights have significantly decreased since the season premiere - we don’t know how it’s doing in the other arenas. Maybe viewership online via Hulu and on FoxonDemand are way up. TSCC is one of those weird shows where people watch it when they have time and they want to be able to give it their fullest attention. And certainly for many people Friday nights are not when they would prefer to watch it. I know that I can count out several people who I personally know who prefer to stockpile episodes on their DVR and watch them all at once. That certainly doesn’t help w/ our overnights or immediate DVR gains, but it’s showing trends that people watch TV differently than they used to.
Kate Arbit who’s a VP over at Fox posted a comment on a blog post over at MediaPost Publications about TSCC’s current DVR numbers and performance: There are various reasons for people to time-shift, and the action doesn’t make a program any less valuable-in fact it gives ratings a boost. TSCC is a Friday night program, the second least watched night of the week, and if the audience takes the time to playback the program than clearly there is some value to it. As far as fast forwarding goes, several studies have shown that fast forwarding does sometimes result in better recall than live viewing because viewers have to watch the ads, can’t switch the channel, to know when the next segment of the show begins. All this to say time-shifted viewing is not a bad thing it allows veiwers to stay current on their favorite shows at their leisure and practically guarantees the advertiser for its message to be seen across competitive programming.
I think that the biggest proof of this was this last week’s TSCC ratings fiasco. In the weeks leading up to the March 6th premiere of WATCHMEN - WB had been heavily promoting the show during key sci-fi programs including TSCC. And guess what? Fans left home on Friday night to watch the film based on a little known graphic novel and it killed at the box office. Bad news for TSCC overnight ratings, but GREAT news for it’s parent company WB who has already earned back 1/2 of the money that they put out to make the film. TSCC got sacrificed w/ little episode promotion last week, but it didn’t matter, the show viewers helped put revenue directly into the company’s bank who produces the show in the first place.
Fox President Kevin Rielly recently had this to tell The Hollywood Reporterabout the Friday night TSCC/Dollhouse Friday ratings “fiasco,” Advertisers have liked the shows. Both shows are doing well on a c7 basis. It’s too early to rule them out.
I think that WATCHMEN is proof that we’re paying attention to the ads. Also we still manage to get quality ads during TSCC even on Friday nights - that include high end electronics, luxury cars, and quality household items and consumable products.
Will the show get a third season? I don’t know and from the sounds of things - it looks like Fox isn’t ready to throw it under the bus yet. I do know that when the time is right we’ll let you all know what you can do to let Fox know that you really want that third season to be ordered. Until then remember “NO ONE IS EVER SAFE” - you need to do your part to help the show, talk to your friends and family - inform them about the 3 day window for DVR viewings and how they count into the ratings. Watch the episodes again within that 3 day window and then again online - Fox on Demand provides their numbers to the Nielsens, Hulu, the numbers go directly to the heads at Fox Broadcasting. Keep buying the episodes on ITunes and Amazon Unboxed. And most importantly - EVERYWHERE that you post online start talking up the back end of the season - share the cool 4 minute Wondercon coverage and get interest back up with fans. Fate for TSCC might end up being what WE make it to be and this is one war that we want to win.
After reading that, it kind of makes me feel better about a 3rd season. It wasn’t as bad as the mid season premiere where we were almost certain that a 3rd season won’t be around.
