Happy Monday morning. It’s February 2nd — Groundhog Day — and Puxatony Phil might have predicted six more weeks of winter, but he also reminded us that we have only eleven more days until T:SCC returns with all new episodes!
Lena and Thomas have been shooting quite a few scenes together lately and we were lucky enough to catch a peek at them goofing around when the cameras weren’t rolling.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles returns Friday, Feb 13 at 8:00PM on FOX.
Does Lena want us to check out her ass?

Well they’re getting close to the end, that’s for sure. I’m so excited! The 13th is marked and circled 20x on my calender. I’ve got that night all planned… I’m gonna make popcorn and get all comfortable and watch my favourite show! Dangit, why isn’t it the 13th yet???

OMG YES!! Let the cast get on here and do something fun!! I think they should have a podcast where they have someone follow Summer or Lena (yes or even Dekker UGH) around for a full shoot. I bet that would pretty entertaining!

A cast podcast is exactly the kind of thing i was hoping for. Don’t get me wrong any update is welcome, but ones that can spark a bit of discussion and get more people posting would be better.
Before i started watching TSCC i watched all the convention panels and interviews on youtube and that really got me in the mood to watch it and provoked me to order the first season on Blu-ray. Cast interviews and behind the scenes stuff is a great way to get people interested in the series.
I’m looking forward to the podcast on friday. I really hope we get to hear from the cast or at least something interesting to build the excitement for the show starting. If its another video about set design i thin I’ll cry lol.

I still can’t believe they really made that absolutely ridiculous Friday night promo. The big reason that i watch the show for Cam is because of her character (NOT HER BODY) I found it downright demeaning…SHE’S MORE THEN JUST EYE CANDY FOR GOSH SAKES!!
Why do the networks continue to dumb things down…I can tell you most of the people who watch sci-fi want a show with depth. I love all the action sequences in T:SCC but i’m mostly drawn to the storyline…why can’t they make a promo like the Samson and Delilah ep, Josh wrote that one brilliantly with the perfect balance of action and drama!
I must sound like a total whiner but i want this show to survive for a third season so bad it makes me sick thinking about it getting canceled. I’m gonna be blunt.
FOX SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO WAKE UP IF THEY WANT T:SCC TO LIVE ON!!

most promos for all networks are not very good. I didnt like the promos for lie to me or the mentalist, but I liked both the shows, and both were better than what the promos made them seem like.
I would love to see a whole gag reel of the cast goofing off. Especially, Lena and Thomas. I heard they are good friends and goof off a lot.

I will play devil’s advocate and say that a DP messing up a shot is unprofessional, Bale’s reaction is TOTALLY unprofessional. It makes him seem so much more the screw up, and the lesser for it.
I’d hate for Summer or Lena or Thomas or any of the dedicated TSCC cast and crew to EVER have to put up with that kind of crazy on this or any other project.
And on the flip side, if any of the cast and/or crew has fits of rage like that… seek help IMMEDIATELY!!

The promo was unique, but I don’t think it would inspire new viewers to watch Dollhouse or TSCC. If I were doing a TSCC promo, I would focus on the scenes with Lena or Summer beating the crap outta some guy.

So what’s this I hear about Summer leaving the show? There’s been rumors about it floating all around the internet. I hope they aren’t true.
The Quentin T. esque promo was terrible. It does a disservice to BOTH TSCC and Dollhouse.
But, I guess this is the level to which Fox advertising agents stoop.

Most of the people I KNOW who watch TSCC (whether they think it’s perfect or imperfect as a show) are college educated and in their 20’s or 30’s. Male and female. ALL of them know Terminator 1 and 2 backwards and forwards… that’s why they started watching THIS show.
Any little mistake or fumble when it comes to continuity on this show is immediately pounced on.
I don’t know how TPTB could think any other way. That’s why the style and mood need to stay consistant with the two original movies. And by consistant I mean a good mix of humor (dark and playful), drama, suspense, thrills, chills, excitement, AND well choreographed action.

Why would Summer leave if she is Fox’s ENTIRE advertising campaign for the back nine of T:SCC!? No other character came up in the promo except for Cam…which in one sense if ok but their portrayal of her was all wrong, she’s a intricate detailed character not simply lets blow them all out of the water for some laughs type of person…
The only conclusion i can come to is IF the rumors are true, perhaps Summer doesn’t like the direction the show is going, decided to cut her losses and get out while she still can…if that is the case, JOSS SHOULD PICK HER UP AND GIVE HER A ROLE IN DOLLHOUSE (wishful thinking i kno)
I think Summer was considered by Joss to be a part of Dollhouse, but Josh got to her first.

Fox promos have been misleading many times before. They used scenes on the GRINDHOUSE type ad from episodes of TSCC ALREADY shown! And we know Cam is usally placed in the background as window dressing unless she is featured in a couple episodes. Ugh! Talk about under utilized!
The boys and girls at Fox really don’t know what they’re doing. They already helped trample on this season where even the writers are frustrated. I know many of the fans are and venting to anyone who’ll listen, including me (as you’ve probably read in previous posts of mine).
I really don’t think Summer will be leaving. For one she is doing a Starfury event in the UK at the end of April that is called T1 and is advertised with Cam being the main attraction. I doubt she would have plans to do a Terminator themed convention knowing that she will be leaving.
I think a lot of the rumours are started off by trolls on forums who don’t like her and know by saying she is leaving it’ll get a big argument going.
But who knows, maybe shes not enjoying working on TSCC. She does look really bored in the candid videos from the Pier scene. Plus coming from doing Serenity and Firefly where the cast were almost like family maybe she misses it and wants to work on Doll house. I can’t see it though personally.
I don’t want to get into a massive bash fest or anything so I’ll ask a question instead…
How much control does Josh and the gang have over advertising?
I felt slightly cheated, like Fox thinks we’re stupid or something that we wouldn’t realize that all the clips in the new promo are from old eps. I know they’re aiming for a bigger audience but give them something to look forward to. Cam is awesome, don’t get me wrong but what about SARAH!!?? Lena kicks serious butt and Thomas isn’t half bad either.
I don’t think Summer leaving any time soon (perhaps just because of her contract) but i was re-reading some interviews she did before S2 started and she said the season we’re in right now is BETTER then the first…so maybe there’s HOPE yet (a nod to Dan)
I remember watching a convention video on youtube and one of the audience questions was about the advertising. the guy said he and his friends didn’t like how it was portraying the show. I think he might have been talking about the picture of Cam naked with her guts hanging out (another blatant copy). Josh seemed very interested to find out why they didn’t like the advertising but the guy didn’t really help explain why. I don’t think they have much control over the advertising, I’m sure if they were made aware of the fact most fans really don’t like the ads they could put the argument forward to Fox.

I wouldn’t expect Summer or any of the other actors to publically state that S2 sucks, would you? They’d be dropped kicked from here to next Tuesday.
I’ve already read interviews from BEFORE the show even started where even Summer stated she hoped that Cameron would be the first Terminator to find love… and then she does a 180 when Josh changes her character. It’s PR.
Hopefully the Back 9 are a significant improvement or we’re on the Eve of Destruction.

I think figured out my problem…I’ve really never followed a show in order before (except for Firefly) so i guess I don’t understand the progression of how they build suspense…
I’m hoping the back nine will reveal and add a bit of closure to some of the story arcs that have yet to be explained.

Yes, the advertising is done by FOX. We know how Josh hates spoilers and he once said if it was up to him, the tv ad would just be a black screen with the words “Terminator, 8:00 pm” across the screen, and that’s all. Funny.

I can as easily say that the most ardent TSCC fans on LJ are women - the Internet is made up of various self-selecting populations. Generalizaing based on the population of a single website is specious reasoning at best.
And frankly, the content of the posts on the wiki is why I and other female fans I know don’t post there - ick.
What’s LJ? The Dekker Daily site is visited mostly by females, those girls are a riot over there. They have WAY too much fun! I met some of them at the Terminator Golden Apple cast event, it was fun. They’re nice people.

There’s only so much speculation a person can take. I have no idea what to expect out of the back nine. I know they’ll be lots of gun fights, explosives and all that crazyness but character interaction I’m at loss to come to any type of valid conclusion…
I guess even if we don’t get a third season perhaps Dollhouse will still be around…hopefully we’ll see Summer guest star in one of the eps….
