Right now… twenty feet away… just behind that closed door… Josh Friedman hovers over his keyboard, meticulously penning the words to episode twenty-two, our big second season finale.
Guesses on how the season will end?
In the meantime, here’s some some photographic insight into the first episode back — The Good Wound — episode fourteen, airing Friday, February 13th on FOX.

Okay, so now we know Sarah survives her moronic solo recon. Hopefully her brain will heal along with her leg. Now it’s time to get the team together, Sarah, John, Cameron,Derek, and possibly Jesse( she is a combat vet after all) on a very short leash. Working as a team they can use Riley’s lifeless body as a decoy to draw out any guards then proceed with a recon in force (at least as much force as they can muster). Deploy perimeter area denial charges to stop a deployed guard force from re entering the facility and the team can take the place down from inside.
Sorry, the above comment needs some context. I was referring to a return to the warehouse where Sarah was shot.
How will the season end? Let’s see…
First, Riley dies in a badass action scene. Jesse’s agenda is exposed. John goes after her, but Jesse somehow manages to play on Sarah’s mistrust of the machines before she bites it. Sarah convinces Cameron that she is a threat to John, when he in fact needs her for something. Cameron leaves.
The more important storyline: John Henry gets away from Weaver. Ellison goes after him (because he is a big believer and he’s had a crush on him since “you guys are a bunch of fascists.”) waving his Bible. Sarah somehow tracks down the Turk through Walsh (who dies a prompt death after pissing Weaver off), becomes aware of John Henry and, crazy as she is, she goes after him.
We get a glimpse of John Connor pulling the strings from the future. If we’re lucky, we also see what John Henry is up to 20 or so years later and why Skynet thought it necessary to send terminators to kill Sherman, replace Ellison and secure access to nukes. (Which means that either John Henry never gets to plug into the Serrano Point systems in the current timeline or simply, being more of a strategist, he doesn’t think that turning humankind into a pulverized piece of frak is the best way to get rid of the wankers for good after they survive both Judgment Day and the virus from that filler rabbit episode. Skynet begs to differ and thinks Ellison was a bad influence on him once and needs to die. Alternative: John Henry himself regrets the Bible study and decides to off him.)
The end: Weaver dies a spectacular death (Sarah is the one to kill her), leaving all options open for John Henry and blissfully wiping the slate clean for the future.
How’s that?
In the spirit of my traditionally vague guesses, I think the season will end with an episode. I can’t be wrong!
Well i can say this quite earnestly, Riley better be dead in this next ep or die soon cause that girl was really gotten under my skin!! CAM AND JOHN NEED TO GET THINGS STRAIGHTEN OUT!! I’m tired of John’s emo-ness (I’m probably the millionth person to say that) but who cares…The writers know what the audience wants or at least us shippers which i think make up a vast majority of the people who watch T:CC (my apologizes to those who aren’t) Hopefully we’ll get it…
@ Jutis
LOL very nice! I couldn’t have guess better myself…
Justis
Hey sorry for spelling you name wrong. MY BAD!
As for how the season ends (not how we get there):
First, Cameron is not in danger of being killed. Two seasons in a row would be bad.
Jesse *does* get dead. Major dead. Maybe even two-times dead. Or she chokes on a badly-chewed piece of Pop-Tart.
Riley might possibly survive but be let go to have a least a few happy years of life.
The T-1001 is discovered (by Cameron) but not identified…setting up the MacGuffin for next season. Cameron might start the chase thinking John is dead.
Derek might be killed by mama-bear Sarah for all of the deception and putting John in danger. Also, for convincing Sarah to betray John in some way (possibly by trying to terminate Cameron).
Savannah bonds with Ellison, but also a bit with John Henry.
John Henry realizes his physical potential…if only he wasn’t cabled into the server farm. (Or perhaps he convinces Catherine to give him a WiFi connection.)
That ZeiraCorp bought the Turk is known, but not that Catherine is a terminator.
Ellison’s connection with ZeiraCorp is discovered, leading to some more “questioning” by the Connor Cadre.
John reaches out to Charley as an ally when Cameron seems to be missing and Sarah and Derek have been found out.
Oh yeah, and a damaged–but still living–Allison Young chronoports back in order to kill Cameron…this time it’s personal.
OR…..
They all screw up big time…Judgment Day.

Ellison goes after him (because he is a big believer and he’s had a crush on him since “you guys are a bunch of fascists.”) waving his Bible.
Why don’t you take your Christian bashing elsewhere. You’d never say something like that if he was a muslim. This is a Christian nation and it’s about time there was a positive depiction of Christians in a mainstream TV show.
Also, brush up on your facts. Fascist states suppress religion in the same way communist states do in order to maintain control of the population.
fanshawe
Yeah chill with the christian bashing! I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day and there isn’t any reason my faith should be depicted at fascist in comparison to anyone else’s so keep your discrimination to yourself!
snake, M.J.:
I’m neither the first nor the last person in this fandom to think that resorting to the Bible when teaching a computer ethics may be a little too obviously misguided for a smart guy like Ellison. It’s sarcasm, not politics, and it’s aimed at the story and not you personally.
For the fascist quote, watch Heavy Metal again. It’s one of the first things Laszlo tells Ellison. I can’t even fathom what you have read into my post with that one so I don’t really know how to address it. Sorry for the confusion, in any case.
Josh, for what it’s worth, I’m praying for your inspiration, and for a KILLER show!!! I’m praying for you daily until this show ends. Seriously. God is a creator, which means He loves creative people.
sorry if I was quick to jump onto your comment, i understand your meaning now…
Not sure how it’ll end. I’m just gonna wait and see. And, of course, hold out hope for some awesome John/Cameron scenes in these back nine (if something happens causing her to leave, I hope it’ll be for what she sees as a good reason). Every time he’s mean to her I wanna cry on her behalf. I understand totally why he’s being mean, I just hope they talk things out in the upcoming episodes. Get some of their old friendship(or whatever) back =)
Not sure how its going to end. Cool that he is writing up the season finale. I think that Ellison will die and that John Henry will want revenge. Just hope that Cameron doesn’t die, nor does Sarah. I think that Riley may have died. Idk just cant wait for the new season.
I haven’t got a clue how its going to end. There are so many different possibilities, i just cant wait for it to start again so i can see how it plays out. The only thing I’m hoping for is more of Cam in season 3, with John and Cams friendship back as it used to be with Riley out of the picture.
the old chemistry of john and cameron needs to be BACK SOON
that was one of the most strongest elements in season 1
AND PLEASE KILL RILEY FOR ONCE
by Hadley….. if you take the L out and put a period in front of it, and move the e in front of the a…. you get L. Heady so I wonder if Hadley is a pen name for Lena ??
it is too early to predict end of season, unless you believe the dekker tapes , and leven interview.
I do think it wont be a happy ending, some sort of cliffhanger with bad things going on.
I want to see jesse die more than riley, and maybe team conner get back together.
I dont think weaver will be killed this season, she is a good background villian, …. if she is a villian?
and john henry we dont know if he will be bad or good either. so it should be interesting.
I would also like to see cameron show some signs of emotional development, but I doubt it will happen.
Fanshawe
I missed the reference as well, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Hmm…I think I’d just like a kick ass ending. Part of me wants a cliffhanger but part of me doesn’t since if that’s the case and there’s no third season, I’ll end up throwing my DVR out the window out of pure frustration!
How it will end? I don’t even dare to make a guess… Everytime I thought I knew how it would all continue you guys proved me dead wrong. I’ll let you guys surprise me!
How will it end? I’m only concerned about the shows legs to make it to season 3. Not that I’m not interested in what happens, I’m just too afraid to speculate. a part of me thinks that the ending might be compromised somehow. it have a great cliffhanger, but ultimately be a dead end. or it could set out to wrap up the whole series. how can you possibly choose which way to go?
please keep going, please make it to another season.
*rocks back and forth in chair with knees held to chest*
It’s hard to say how it will end when we don’t even have much more than basic setup after 13 episodes. I can only hope the back nine spend more time doing some spring cleaning with the story and characters than building things up some more for season three. I don’t really see myself subscribing to a show where setup lasts half a season, acts 2 - 3 five or six episodes, and act 4 is replaced with a teaser for the next season.
What I don’t think we’ll see in the back nine is Judgment Day, John Henry turning into Skynet, any old characters except Charley dying, or any of the three new characters surviving. What we might see is that Sarah is still a player in the future in this timeline and the one who left those dots on the wall, that future John may be behind more than just sending Cameron and Derek back, that Ellison may turn out to be a more likely ally to young John than either Sarah or Derek, that Weaver is in fact a Skynet agent, sent back to give the Turk an opportunity to learn more about people, and that there are no different factions among the machines in the future she was sent back from. I hope but am not holding my breath that the story about this particular version of Skynet actually gets told and not just glossed over.
That would be it, in a nutshell.
I’m in the same boat with Kyle Maloney right now =/ I can’t really bring myself to speculate (much) on how S2’s gonna end when the uncertainty of a 3rd season still looms over us all.
How I’d _want_ S2 to end though? A reconciliation of trust between the four main characters, especially John and Cam. And have everyone’s secrets just blow out into the open with hellfire and brimstone raining down on those deserving of it.
I’m sure season two will end in a spectacular fashion that will have me yelling at my TV just like I did when season one ended.
On the other hand, I don’t think I’m ready to think about the end of the season yet!
I want more new episodes! Is it February 13th yet?
I’m glad Josh is writing the season finale. He does an excellent job. I thought Gnothi Seauton was probably the most well rounded episode in the whole series, so far.
The chemistry and tension between Cameron and John was just great in first season and I really liked their interaction. That was the main thing that got me hooked to this show. After Samson and Delilah I actually thought that they would make their connection even deeper, because John even pointed the gun towards Sarah in order to save Cameron and said that he needed her. But after that they decided to introduce Riley to mess everything up. I really hope that they have understood that Riley doesn’t give anything for this show but she takes away a lot.
I have to believe that they can see it. So Riley will die or go away and John will kill Jesse for trying to hurt Cameron and we get to see more Cameron&John action as John finds his feelings for Cameron again. Season 3 here we come.
Judge,
I hope your right. You made some excellent points. I speak for a very much addicted to T:SCC college dorm room (me and two roommates) when I say that the Cam and John arc was one of the main reasons we got hooked to the show in the first place. We want that interaction back, no more trading death looks and general surliness from either of them. They need to start working together and if that means Riley dies and Jesse comes clean (even though I’d prefer for Riley to just go away and Jesse die i highly doubt that’s gonna happen) then so be it…
More Cameron please. Cameron is best of T:TSCC!
Yes, Riley will die because once she’s completed her task I’m going to kill her. To all you foolish “shippers” who think I’ll tolerate some sort of relationship between John and the metal, YOU ARE WRONG!!!!
Once Sarah Connor and that metal are no longer influencing John Connor… I WILL BE IN CONTROL OF HIM. I’ll use Derek to get close to John once they’re out of the way so I can mold him into the leader I WANT him to be in the future.
To sum up: I WIN.
How will it end? Hmmm…
Well, in the mean time how about this song for John Baum, uh, um, Connor… I mean Connor?
That’s right, ol’ Blue Eyes has something to say on the subject of this season’s dear ol’ John (of course, there’s just a bit of “shipper-ness in it… how did that get in there?
).
Frank SInatra’s version of “Call Me Irresponsible”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLcyCH0R8S0
Call me irresponsible
Call me unreliable
Throw in undependable too…
Do my foolish alibis bore you?
Well, I’m not too clever
I just adore you
Call me unpredictable
Tell me I’m impractical
Rainbows I’m inclined to pursue…
Call me irresponsible
Yes, I’m unreliable
But it’s undeniably true
I’m irresponsibly mad for you
Call me irresponsible
Yes, I’m unreliable
But it’s undeniably true
I’m irresponsibly mad for you…
@Dan: Please, please stop with the song lyrics. You’ve already been told how annoying and distracting it is. So please just post your findings elsewhere.
@Bear McCreary: PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE MUSIC YOU USED IN THE PILOT EPISODE!!!
Namely the theme when John is walking home from school after meeting Cameron.
The theme when Cameron fights Cromartie for the first time.
The chase scene (when they’re escaping the Dyson Residence).
And that sort of violin theme used when they go to the Dyson Residence.
These are all brilliant themes that never reappeared in later episodes. They really carry that Terminator feel to the show and it is a shame they seemed to have been dropped from the main score. Please start reintegrating them. They kicked a**.
The more i think about this the more i think how devastated I’m going to be if they end with another cliff hanger like season 1 ended and then there was no season 3.
FOR THE LAST TIME, DAN CUT IT OUT WITH THE LYRICS!!…I’m not quite sure why you keep this up. I understand self-expression (if you prefer to wear that banner) but people have made it quite clear that we do not enjoy what you do and I doubt the writers of T:SCC who read this blog are very amused either…
@ Mark
I don’t think i could survive a cliffhanger ending for S2 if a S3 wasn’t on the way…How could Fox do that to us!?!? i predict many scathing letters arriving both through e-mail and snail mail if they cancel our dearly beloved Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles!!
john needs to change for ONCE
no more john baum WE WANT JOHN CONNOR
what we need is a new blog every day and more than 1 podcast a week!
and maybe some more dekker tapes?? LOL
I dont read dans song lyrics, but if thats what he wants to post he has a right to post them… freedom of speech and all that u know.
just scroll past them!! how hard is that?
Dan: KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY. HOW OLD ARE YOU? STICK TO THE TOPIC. NO ONE READS YOUR LYRICS. PUTTING ALL OF THIS TO MUSIC IS YOUR HANG UP, PLEASE DON’T SHARE IT WITH US. JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO DO SOMETHING DOESN’T MEAN YOU SHOULD.
Just wanted to say Judge, You sum up my feelings quite well! I really expected very different things after samson and delilah. Never been too happy with the direction they chose to go in. But I remain hopeful
And Dan, notice the trend.. do stop with the lyrics. Yes we can scroll past them, but why put them up if no one reads them? (If someone now steps up to post that he/she does read them, ignore the second paragraph of my post…). Just a link is sufficient.
Ditto, Judge & Scy800
I agree with t5000, it would be great to get more frequent updates. We’re all suffering from withdrawal symptoms :(.
Speaking of withdrawal, we haven’t heard anything about Summer in a very very long time.
We did get a kickass background of her on this site Snake
Surely there is more to come!
That’s true, a couple of days seems like a very very long time to me. I’m not the artist type but I have been absolutely captivated by he way Summer plays this role. I have seen her in other things and while she is amazingly beautiful and a very good actress there is something very unique and superior about the way she plays Cameron. I have rewatched her scenes repeatedly and the way she moves her lips and tilts her head in casual conversation seems almost angelic then, she turns around and kills everything in the room without ever losing that angelic quality. I don’t know why but i just can’t stop watching.
Please Fox, don’t cancel this show. You have something very special in this character that just needs some advertising to bring in the viewers. Icons like this don’t happen very often.
Snake,
I COULDN’T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!! Fox would be so far screwed over if they canceled T:SCC!!
I’ve never been so emotionally involved in a show in my entire life. Every ep (even the so-called fillers) captures and hold my attention!
Fox has a show that is pretty much UNMATCHED fan base wise (unless you consider Heroes which has been pretty awful this season)
PLEASE DON’T LET IT DIE!!
What many of you don’t seem to understand is that EVERY character on this show is on it for a reason and the reason why many of them don’t get along is because of who their character IS. John IS a teenage boy who has no “normal” in his life. There’s a line in Automatic about that when Sarah and John are talking about his returning to school. “You always said how English class was so boring. We could all use some boring today.” He has been thrust into a surreal situation that he wants no part of. He’s an adolescent… and at the same exact time he’s a full grown man. HE HAS TO BE. Even though the events of T3 aren’t considered in the timeline, to quote John from that film: “I’ve been fed that bullshit since the cradle.” How would you all react? Don’t put yourself in badass Christian Bale’s shoes… don’t put yourself in Michael Edwards’ shoes (he played future Connor in T2)… put yourself in Thomas Dekker’s or Eddie Furlong’s position. These John Connors have not MET their future bad-ass selves yet like we have… they have to BECOME them. It can’t happen instantaneously. 16 years old and you have to fight off killer robots from the future deadset on KILLING you so that they can kill the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE. Not exactly what your average teenager is expected of… to save a population.
Sarah Connor… also FORCED into this; an impossible reality. Look at Sarah at the beginning of T1… in the establishing shot. Compare that to the Sarah you see breaking out of Pescadero. She had to become that. Sarah on fate: “I’m not trying to change mine. I’m trying to change his.” This is EVERY mother’s story. Every mother’s dream for her child is for them to have a better life than they did. Sarah became that muscled warrior to break out of that place… fight Skynet… accept the cruel reality of war and destruction… and overcome it so that her son doesn’t have to experience the same hardships.
Derek Reese: the Connors’ key to the future and John’s only BLOOD relative left in the world. Although they do have a seemingly antagonistic relationship most of the time, John is probably better off that he is in his life than if he wasn’t. At the very least he can help the Connors’ fight Skynet in the here and now. And then every once in a while you have the “park scene”… where they both realize how much the other means to them DESPITE all of their individual faults.
Cameron: A confused robot who seemingly is always trying to differentiate between her Termo-programming and the soul of Allison (although we haven’t seen any of this conflict since “Allison From Palmdale”). She doesn’t learn like Arnie did… she’s not very robotic in that way. Doesn’t truly process what she hears. Alot of the time she just repeats what her human cohorts say in an effort to become more like them. It’s usually not convincing.
Riley: Although we’ve known different since “Brothers of Nablus,” and John is likely to find out very soon, she was the only thing that could possibly be considered normal in John’s life. Yeah, it was all very corny at the beginning… but that was the point. Teenagers are supposed to be awkward and corny… and generally happy and enthusiastic about life. That’s why John is DRAWN to her. Or at least used to be.
Jesse: She’s there for her OWN purposes… probably the most self-indulgent human of the bunch. I also don’t think she really loves Derek.
Weaver: The symbol of power… a possible means to an end (a way to create Skynet). Ellison, her puppet, is DRAWN to her in a similar fashion to how John was drawn to Riley. He IS working for the devil (at least I think she’s evil), which is just what he promised Cromartie he wouldn’t do in “Samson.” John Henry symbolizes the ability for humans and machines to develop new ideas, to create new “programs” for themselves… to mold their own destinies.
I hate to tell all you John/Cameron shippers this, but it’s never gonna happen. John dislikes Cameron because (a) she tried to kill him and (b) she’s a machine!!! “Love” wasn’t in the air in season one, folks. Maybe John tried to trick himself into feeling he could have feelings for the robot, and vice versa, to compensate for the fact that he had to deal with the realization that she wasn’t a human like she originally let on. And John is also frustrated with her because she never really does seem to learn. She still doesn’t know the value of human life. John should have her take lessons from Arnie in the future lol
I won’t be like Dan and post the lyrics, but if you want a song to help you take in the complexities of these characters’ relationships (especially Sarah, John and Cameron), check out Billy Joel’s “All About Soul” on Youtube. Kind of creepy just how much the the song mirrors this show, actually. I would like to see a return to innocence just like the rest of you; but the fact of the matter is that it’s simply not possible. What do I look for in upcoming episodes? You guessed it… even more backstabbing and more alliances broken. But only time will tell. Can we have a new clip from the actual episode already? Geez.
