I have to agree. Mentoring is very rewarding. Over the decades I’ve mentored young people in writing, art, photography, and programming. The worst that happens is that the mentee ends up with a little more knowledge than they started with, at the best… well, it’s great when you had a hand in building the foundation of someone else’s success.
And me? Yeah, I had a mentor for a brief bit that helped to jump-start me with screenwriting. When someone takes the time to help you like that, you can’t help but want to pay it forward.
Most people have some specialized knowledge to share (eventually). Cooking, art, astronomy, child care, investing, cybernetics… well, the list goes on and on. Sharing what you know helps to continue the age-old tradition of passing knowledge from one generation to the next for them to build upon. A noble thing, indeed.
Besides, how are we to realize a world of murderous robots if we don’t help the young gain the knowledge they need to design them?
jeez, I just can’t get used to hearing her talk with a British accent…
On topic I am a tutor
I love her British accent!! I wish there was an opportunity for Lena in one ep coming up for her to go undercover for some reason or another so that she could use her British accent, wishful thinking i know… but hey you never know what the writers got up there sleeves…

I haven’t done any mentoring, but I’ve done plenty of tutoring in various scientific and mathematical disciplines. It is very rewarding to make a positive difference in other lives. I only wish I could do more of it.
Kudos to lovely Lena for advocating all sorts of worthy causes!

Lena is using her gruff Sarah Connor voice with her natural accent. I think her natural voice’s pitch is a little higher.

It’s a really good cause. I’ve never mentored in the way she means, but kind of. I used to work with those of special needs. It was a lot of fun, they rocked! ^_^
Also, off-topic but still about SCC… I watched a couple old ads before season 1 started with the garbled messages to fans, like a computer has been hacked and John, Sarah and Cameron all get their messages out? (YouTube it if you don’t know what I mean) and I just gotta say FOX is not advertising TSCC the way it should be. I haven’t seen a single ad since the end of 2.13. Apparently there was one on a British Channel Virgin 1, but I have yet to see the same ad on FOX. You want people to find the show, not to hunt for it. That is not the way to get people interested.
I’ll donate money if that’s what it’ll take for FOX to advertise the hell outa SCC and help get more fans and a third season. I’m desperate for this show to survive, as it is currently THE best show out there and it pains me to not see any ads what-so-ever.

It seems like Fox wants this show to die. They haven’t made the effort to do any type of advertising. Maybe they’ll surprise and throw up some half minute segment during the super bowl this weekend…I’ll keep my fingers crossed…but in the mean time why not try some viral marketing like Joss did for Serenity…perhaps some Sherman/ Cam sessions…lol sorry couldn’t help myself…

That seems possible. It would make sense as to why there haven’t been any ads yet, Super Bowl ads are supposed to be expensive aren’t they?

Yeah REALLY EXPENSIVE….Maybe that’s why they’re holding out so long. More people would see that ad there then any other time slot this year! I hoping to see Sarah, John and Cam face light up the screen with their awesomeness, WHO CARES ABOUT FOOTBALL!!
