Seven hours and counting for us on the West Coast…
iam pumped up for the show and will be watching live on fox last week sucked with out tscc let all hope for bigger ratings this week
Since I do not have DVR you will have to settle for a Hulu view later.
Since I work Monday evening, I always record it on my DVR. The next morning my wife and I watch it while I’m downloading the episode from iTunes.
Awesome season so far and congratulations on the full season pickup! Is it too early to pre-order my S2 DVDs?
I’m bummed - why isn’t the new episode on the website now? I had to get the child to bed and missed the first half and forgot to start the VCR! Come on FOX post the episode the same night…pretty please.
OMG. Now I have to go watch the season premier opening scene again.
Just when I think things are becoming ho-hum, you throw in a killer ending that makes my jaw drop.
Great job!
FANTASTIC EPISODE tonight! Yall finally answered a bunch of questions. While nothing is really resolved at this point, it’s such a relief to see that threads from old episodes are going somewhere.
Also, I really like the new doctor, great character.
But seriously, we have to wait two weeks AGAIN!? arrrghh!
So…Skynet is good (realised the error of its ways) and sent back this girl terminator to kill the doctor before it could help create itself in the first place (since skynet cannot self terminate).
And the chip burnout from the new terminator…failsafe to prevent any additonal versions of skynet being created.
The irony of Cameron stopping it from completing its mission.
Unless its not irony after all…if the real reason Cameron is protecting John Connor is because he inadvertenly creates skynet later, and Cam is the only terminator to have figured this out.
Im kidding. No really, thats not the plotline, its just a joke.
Ditto happy viewer couldn’t agree more.
Umm. Wow.
Thank you for bringing back the Sarah voice overs!! I was absolutely thrilled when I heard it.
YEAH, back to true TSCC form!
The second best ep of the season yet! (The best this season so far is “Samson & Delilah”)
And it’s awesome to see some Asian faces on the show!
great episode! I actually really liked Catherine Weaver in this episode. In prior episodes, I found her to be uninteresting, but now that the writers are delving into her storyline a little more, she’s become really really compelling.
Also heres a glowing review of the episode! They said it BSG-eque in quality!

Tonights episode was amazing!!! As I have said before, this is the only show that I watch. The cast, crew, and writers of this show are doing a phenomenal job!!! But…
Why are we having to wait another two weeks for the next episode? We just had to do that. Why is it happening again. This is bull! Can someone please tell me why there is already another break?
Amazing episode! I agree with the parallels mentioned in the above review (link). I loved the time the writers took to delve into the psychological issues of John and how Catherine Weaver’s daughter is apparently human! I hope they keep both storylines going!
God bless you for bringing back the voice-overs.
Awesome ep!
I loved that episode!
Shirley really did well in her first big episode (screen time wise anyway), I loved the nuances she brought to the T1001 as it tried to emulate mothership qualities and skills. I feel some empathy towards the T1001 as I feel the same way with my god daughter, I’m the least parent-like person in the world and I feel really awkwards sometimes when I’m interacting with her. At times.
“You have a child. What do you do with it?” I think I’ve uttered that very same phrase before.
The part I most appreciated was when the doctor explained to the T1001 that the Turk had developed a sense of humour, and then pointed out that some humans never develop one - the look on Shirley’s face was really funny considering that throughout the episode the T1001 had consistently failed to grasp the concept of sarcasm or small talk. Which in itself is where comedy is born in sci-fi characters like cyborgs or androids. I was howling with laughter when the T1001 would follow it’s instructions from the photographer exact re: “An inch to the left” and moving its face exactly one inch to the left. Just the jusxtaposition that scene brought up was really appreciated.
Following on from this was when the T1001 bluffed its way through a cherished childhood memory of the smell of cow’s blood. Hilariously played with a straight face.
I also loved the shots of Catherine Weaver in the past with her husband. Shirley played that well, it must be difficult playing a cyborg and then playing the same character as a human. Sometimes it doesn’t work (Think whenever Seven of Nine became Annika Hansen through circumstance on Star Trek Voyager) but on that it looked really tragic. Like the T1001 felt almost sad that she wasn’t as human as Weaver was.
Oh and did anyone else play “Spot The Stiff”? I so bet that the baldy techhie guy is the next character to get skewered!
I must also give kudos to the little girl actress - she was not in any way annoying, stiff or cutesy, she played the part really well. I hope to see more of her interaction with the T1001 (I wonder if in the future Savannah will be a resistance fighter…just a thought I had when John was tying her shoelaces. On that note how ominous was it when the T1001 and John almost met in a couple of shots?) And how un-nerving was the scene when Savannah handed the doctor the SCARED card as the T1001 looked on.
Again,
Another great episode. The writing for this show is phenominal. All the scenes have a great level of detail. As another commenter said concerning the scenes with Savannah, the scene where the t-1001 almost came in contact with John Connor, etc.. It is a great piece of work.
It is very suspenseful, and very entertaining. I am glad to see that we will get to enjoy a complete season. Hopefully we will be seeing season 3 next year.
So, since John can no longer re-program terminators in the future, because of their self-destruct protocols, does this mean that Cameron is the last of her kind? Is she the last terminator to aid the resistence? Did John send Cameron back in time not as the protector, but rather the protectee? I’m loving every minute of it. Write more episodes like this, please.
I think *I* need a shrink after that ep!
Delightful to have Dorian Harewood as the doc. John needs help - is Sherman set up to be a confidant? And oh, those lovely flashbacks to what REALLY happened on John’s birthday. *claps*
The Tower is Tall - What fun! My, how the estrogen flowed! A lot of female fans had sexy Derek Reese dreams last night…
Jesse needed a new word for what they did? LOL! Only from a female writer and director… I’m with Derek, what’s wrong with the old word he mouthed in the episode “Dungeons and Dragons”?
A rose by any other name… Personally, I prefer Derek with the Barrett rather than the girl, but that’s just me…
Not quite ready to buy into the number of times humans and cyborgs get sent back in time, but I’ll play along and see where it goes. I mean, Connor could send back the whole resistance force and stop everything once and for all - or start things all over again - or really frell with the time line!
Shirley Manson was delightful as her character is trying to understand & play the role of human mom. Butcher paper smells - lines delivered perfectly creepy!! Kudos to Mackenzie Brooke Smith for her performance here, too.
Thank you SO MUCH for allowing Sarah to have voice over in this ep again. Love the hints at her backstory. Loved all the hints at character backstory. “Your fly’s open.” Yeah, that’ll talk someone down from the ledge…
So now we have to wait another two weeks for new stuff? The previews look very good.
*waits patiently*
the most two long weeks ever
awesome episode
shirley is doing a great job
That episode was so worth the wait although I have to say it would be better NOT waiting two weeks. AMAZING episode! The writing, the production, the acting; all of it above par! Great work everyone!
And thank you, thank you, thank you for Sarah’s voice over! It really makes it Sarah’s chronicles for me when she does the voice overs.
Again, amazing job to everyone! Keep it up, for the rest of the FULL season!
AWESOME episode! Congrats on getting a full season order, and keep up the good work guys!
I’m thinking there may be a third faction involved somewhere/when. The redheaded contortionist terminator could have been there to kill the Dr to prevent him helping John or to prevent him helping The Turk, OR she could have been there to protect him while he did one or the other. In the first episode this season, Cameron mentioned John might upset some people by risking his life, I assume some people in the future. ?Which faction really sent the guy that wrote that stuff on the wall in blood? So far they have prevented a nuclear meltdown but let Weaver get control of a power plant and now let this doctor help her with the Turk since John did away with the bug just before it would have given them some good intel.
Again, does anyone know why we are having to wait another two weeks for the next episode? I am just trying to understand…smile.
Brenda, the answer is baseball. It’s a lil thing called the World Series.. bah!
I just got done watching the ep for the second time and I’m still just blow away. So strong all around– acting, writing, direction, all of it.
Just WOW.
Really fun episode!
I second the third faction idea. I got the impression that Jesse was working with an anti-John faction from the future that was made up of resistance fighters who can’t stomach John’s affinity for “heavy metal” any more. Her comment about a reprogrammed terminator gone bad, combined with John’s comment about Skynet not wanting him to reprogram terminators anymore, made me think that maybe it was some of his own fighters, not Skynet, who were behind the new, non-reprogrammable terminator.
