DJ Jazzy Janis

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

You’ll soon come to appreciate her on 24 as the FBI’s “Janis Gold,” but you know her in the real world as Janeane Garofalo. And now you can also call her Guest Radio DJ.

Janeane picks out and discusses five songs that have inspired her on KCRW.

What music inspired her to lapse into the techie talk we’ve gotten used to hearing from Chloe? We’ll have to tune in on Saturday to find out if she made any musical 24 connections. Chloe and Janis would have listened to the podcast instead, which you can also find online.

And while you’re on the KCRW site, check out Virtuality director Peter Berg’s guest DJ set as well.

Blogging the TCA Blogs #4 - “Virtuality”

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

This blog post’s headline really captures the spirit:
Kevin Reilly promises a gayer, blacker FOX

“In fact, we’re in production on a pilot right now, Virtuality, that Ron Moore and Michael Taylor created. Pete Berg is directing it. And it’s got a gay relationship that is as dimensional and as honest as anything I’ve ever seen portrayed on television.”

So Immortal That He Survived Cancellation

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau didn’t seem to hold a grudge against us when we decided not to renew “New Amsterdam.”

He agreed to star in “Virtuality” as mission commander Frank Pike, described as a “born leader” (not “reborn” leader).

Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are

We created this site to keep you apprised of series in development as well as changes to returning ones. In doing so, we like to check out what’s being said in the blogosphere about our shows.

As you’ve noticed, we will link to things. This doesn’t automatically mean that what we’re linking to is directly affiliated with Fox productions, or paid for by Fox, or owned and operated by Fox. We might be linking to it because it’s what you all are talking about. Users may jump to conclusions on boards and forums and in comment boxes that we’re behind EVERYTHING. (We get that it feels that way.) Sometimes these viral wild goose chases and secret websites are actually fan-creations and we aren•t involved at all.

But sometimes we might be.

Despite who the evil mastermind really is, hopefully you•re having fun and getting psyched for good television.

Anyhoo, on a technical sidenote: We’ve been working on the site’s comments problems. We’re waiting for American Idol revenue to kick in so that we can pay our interwebs bill to fix it. Kidding! We don’t make any money from Idol.

Mr. D’Arcy’s Pride

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

James D’Arcy has been cast in Ronald Moore’s Virtuality, which is set aboard the Phaeton, Earth’s first starship, on a 10-year journey to explore a distant solar system. To help the crew endure the long trip, NASA equips the ship with advanced virtual reality modules, allowing them to assume adventurous identities and go anyplace they want. D’Arcy plays the ship’s psych officer, who produces the virtual reality shows.

Peter Berg will direct the pilot.

No stranger to the BSG writers’ verse, D’Arcy starred in David Eick’s pilot “Them.”

We’re not claiming to know what this company is. Nor do we know this man.

Although, some of these people seem to have an idea.

The BSG Guys (and Gal)

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Ronald D. Moore has a two-hour pilot for us called “Virtuality” that he wrote with Michael Taylor.

It’s set aboard the Phaeton, Earth’s first starship, on a 10-year journey to explore a distant solar system. To help the 12 crew members endure the long trip and keep their minds occupied, NASA equipped the ship with advanced virtual reality modules, allowing them to assume adventurous identities and go to any place they want. The plan works until a mysterious “bug” is found in the system.

Also, BSG star Tricia Helfer has inked a one-year talent holding deal with us, which means she could star in a FOX series soon.
