Spoilers, rumors and videos - FRINGE Comic-Con Recap

On Saturday, July 25th, the producers and stars of FRINGE made their second annual visit to San Diego Comic-Con. While giving out some spoilers (Leonard Nimoy will be back in the premiere!) the cast charmed the huge crowd that filled up one of the convention centers largest venues.  The amiable panel answered some of the fans’ most burning questions:  What will happen with the alternate universe plotline?  Why display the Twin Towers in the finale?  What direction is the show going to take in season two.

Producer Jeff Pinkner was the one to take on these questions, and responded by saying that the alternate universe was a plotline that they reached “quicker than [they] anticipated.”  He said the decision to include the twin towers in the finale was something they debated about, but eventually it was decided that it was the best way to “immediately represent a different reality.”  When asked what else to expect in season two, Pinkner said “This season is about maturation … about making decisions for yourself. There’s a lot at stake.”

The producers also warned of a conflict between the two earths becoming much more prevalent. According to the panel, season two is bound to bring us things we have never seen on the show before.  “A war is coming” producer Alex Kurtzman hinted.  We can’t wait!

Check out the videos below taken by the lucky fans who were able to attend.  The first is Joshua Jackson discussing the evolution of his character, Peter Bishop, and what is at stake for his future.  The second is John Noble discussing his character, Walter Bishop, and how he humanizes such an eccentric character.
