“Like many workaholics, Walter is almost an absentee father to some degree - totally focused on his work. Certainly he would have been a good provider, but not the ideal dad in terms of emotional contact. He was imprisoned when his son Peter was going through his most difficult teenage years. Joshua has incredible insight into this from his own life and I do as a father myself. I know how it works. We really enjoy spending hours, he and I, just discussing how they would relate to each other and how they would feel.”

In an interview with Cosmo Girl,  Joshua Jackson says: "My character is a rabid mensa type. I’m not nearly as smart. [The plot] involves things that are supernatural, but the answer will never be anything like, ‘The mermaids did it!’ It will always either be an unintended consequence of human actions, or it will be that you thought this thing in your life was x, and it turns out to be a rutabaga."

The prolific writer-producer told TelevisionWeek on Monday that, yes, he has penned the theme song for “Fringe.”

The string-heavy introduction to “Fringe” came to Mr. Abrams while he was getting ready to go to bed one night.

TV Guide on helping confused fans:

“Fringe is in many ways an experiment for us,” says Abrams. “We’re trying very deliberately to do a show that doesn’t require the insane absolute dedication to a series that if you miss an episode, you have no idea of what is going on.”
