‘Fringe’ looks to solve the trickiest mystery — its own identity
(online is a longer piece than what was in print)
Please stop the ridiculous twittering through the program. It is very distracting and takes up too much screen space. fringe is one of the best shows on TV today with a blend of X-Files and CSI it is the bomb.
But now we have to sit and watch idiots twitter about the program. I can get the plot myself.
Please, please stop the twittering.

Brilliant season opener. Keep doing what your’re doing Best acted, most imaginative sci-fi series I have seen in years. I will be watching every episode and getting them in Blu-Ray when they come out. While I was waiting for the new season, I downloaded them on I-Tunes and watched them all again on my IPod Touch at the gym.
The characters are amazing. I am too old and a married man, but I have a crush on Agent Dunham. Who doesn’t
I hope FOX reads this. I love this show. I support sponsors.
Keep on keeping on. You have a major hit.
Check my website: yes, I am real Ufologist and retired police sergeant.
You have a major hit. The season opener was brilliant. Fringe is the most imaginative well acted sci-fi series in many years. The characters are all fascinating. We love the characters: John Noble is stellar as Dr. Walter Bishop. Ok, I admit it. I have a crush on Agent Dunham. Who wouldn’t?
Keep up what you’re doing.
I am buying Season 1 on Blu-Ray and I was watching them on my Ipod while I was waiting for the new ones.
If you look at my website: yes, I am a real ufologist and a retired police sergeant.
FOX< you have a huge hit here!
It’s killing me the new day / time …Thursday’s is a terrible hour for this great show. This in my opinion is the kiss of death for the show…
come on…please…..PLEASE…..
The Fringe is a dumb persons version of the X-files. You don’t need to talk down to us and spoon feed us, write something with some intelligence to it. This show is a real disappointment.
Fringe is an amazing show the first of almost any i have ever really gotten into. I set suspensefully waiting to see what happens next and shouting out WHAT! DON”T LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THIS as if the telivision will reply lol. Thank J.J. Abrams , Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman . You guys are amazing as well as the actors. Walter is a sheer riot makes me laugh so hard at times. Anna is an amazing actress as well as the rest of the crew they all just do this show so well and so believable. PLEASE KEEP THIS SERIES GOING IT TRULY IS AN AMAZING SERIES WORTH WATHCING OVER AND OVER YOU GUYS ALL ROCK!!!!!!!!
We were completely disappointed with Fringe (September 17th)….What the hell is with the Twitter crap on the screen? I really hope you guys don’t plan on doing this on EVERY episode or we’ll never watch the show again!! For your information, I have a group of 15 people over to my home (Fringe party), and I can’t tell you how upsetting it was to watch the Twittering during the show!! It takes away from the drama and core of the program!! KNOCK IT OFF!!!! TAKE OFF THE TWITTER!!!
WHY was the show moved to Thursday at 9p.We are really big fans of the show, but we love Supernaturals too. Any chance the show can be moved to another time?
Way too many commercials ; very disappointed in fact of commercials taking up too much time for program; What happened to limited commercials?
I agree with many other posters and comments (offline as well): what the heck is going on with moving the show against the toughest competition of the week. Is Fox trying to cancel the show (conspiracy theory for the cognoscenti). WHAT’S GOING ON!!!!! If this show is cancelled (darn disgusting if it happens), it will be directly as a result of the move to Thursday at 9pm.
What’s Fox thinking???
From a huge fan of the show.
I chose Fringe over everything else that airs Thursday at 9PM this season. And if you care enough to write on this blog you should too.
I have become a huge fan of the show and am continuously intrigued with the underlying plots. Though I must say that Joshua Jackson annoyed me less and less last season and I hope they don’t take his role too seriously now that he’s a civilian consultant. We need more Walter and Olivia, less Peter.
My husband and I just watched the season premiere as we were out of town and tevo’d it. We are certainly glad we didn’t watch it on the premier night as we wouldn’t have tolerated the tweetering!!
But, we love the show and the characters, plots, direction and production are the best.
One last comment: how strange to see the twin towers in the second episode previews!!! Was there old tape of New York scenery used or are those two towers part of this season’s plot??!!??
Who played Rebecca in tonight’s episode??? ( October 8, 2009)
Truth is… 75% of the first season was badly written, unusually derivative and dull. Not ‘Flash Forward’ dull, but conceptually murky. Kitchen sink sci-fi. Frustrating to watch.
BUT…
This season is excellent so far. Tove has found her character. Every aspect of the show is better. I did not think they could turn Fringe around. They did. Now I’m a fan.
To I Heart Fringe — less Peter?! I love Peter — his patience and interaction with Walter is endearing and he’s such a cutie. We’re big big fans of the show — excellent job, everyone.
I have to agree with most people on the blog, very good start to the season. I’m upset about the move to Thursday night. It doesn’t matter Fringe is going against 2 shows at 9pm that both consistently place in the top 10 and have a big fan base already. I’m getting tired of Fox feeling like they can just move their most popular shows around willie-nillie. Fringe is a well written, well acted show, Fox had to know when they moved it that they would lose numbers. How ABOUT putting it back on Tuesday where there is very little to watch at 9pm. I also hate all the commercials–also.
I am with you Erin. Who played Rebecca? She looks so familiar to me and I feel I saw her a while ago? My husband is driving himself crazy trying to come up with who she is? And if anyone knows, where we know her from!
where do you people live? Fringe has been in the same time slot its entire run here in Chicago. I also don’t get the “X-Files was better written and acted,” take some people have. Don’t get me wrong, I loved X-Files(except for the last season). Used to host viewing parties on Sundays for new episodes and during the week for the re-runs on FX(gotta love the simucast in Spanish!). But if you go back and watch some of those episodes now they seem in very poor quality to me when stacked up against the catalogue for Fringe thus far. I just hope they keep the quality up and don’t get cancelled like the last two shows I really got into(Arrested Development, Jericho).
