Why are the producers adding a junior FBI agent who is “brash & quick-witted?” It’s unnecessary and could be distracting. I enjoy Fringe for its intelligent, mind-stretching plots and stories.
I don’t want a smart-aleck “kid” who hasn’t lived long enough to even begin to comprehend what Walter is trying to do messing around.
I agree with Jim (for the most part)……. BUT, who knows? I know many folks here in Canada that cannot stand Torv. And they don’t watch because of her. Like any knew character, Markle (Meghan the Vegan) may just be around for a 5-6 episode story arc and then get a red-shirt episode - poof GONE for good, ala Sanford Harris. (brash and dim-witted Harris)
I agree with Jim, “brash and quick-witted”= trouble making and plot slogging. When you’ve stumbled on the perfect dish, jot down the recipe, don’t go adding new ingredients just to see if you can MAYBE make it even better. You’ll spoil a great taste.
Now there will be more competition for on air time!! I would love an entire episode on the life of Peter — we see some things about his past but definately not enough. Am not looking forward to yet another girl on the set!!
I agree with Jim, what is the point of adding another FBI agent when the cast as it is works so well. I hope the writers of this show don’t screw up the show like the writers of the old Sliders show did. (A show which also dealt with the multiverse theory as does Fringe).
Where will she fit in? “Charlie” really didn’t start getting involved until later on. So now we have a 3:2 female-to-male ratio if you match the amount of women vs. men in the lab at one time. Olivia, Asterid, (Markle) and Walter and Peter. Hmmmmm??? We’ll see. I love the show and excited that it is returning. Don’t let me down Fox.
Whoot for more plot twists, but why add a NEW female intern/junior agent when Astrid hasn’t had her full time yet? I’m going to go with it though and I look forward to the next season!
I am seeing the end of the road for Fringe! So sad. We need more of Walters old colleague’s coming to light. Everyone wants to know what happened to Walter. Tsk, tsk on the writer and producers. The FBI team that was already in place was perfect for the show. A very good mix of brash toughness and mystery.
I will continue to keep an eye on things and will let you know if this works. If it does not you must change back to the original format asap!
When is the season premiere i miss this show so much! i’ll save my judgements on the new character as long it doesn’t affect the show dynamic as it is i’m ok with it.But i do think it was just fine why mess with perfection!
I dont know, new charcater might be good althoug i think it would be better if they give more screen time to Astrid, mabe some field stuff not just babysitting Walter, maybe even some plot story around here, oposite fraction try to recrute her so that she gives them all that Olivi have on Massive Dynamics, and to watch and send them Walters reserches, maybe even seduce Peter…
Obviously the reason shes being added is to add some spark to Charlie’s repartee and provide a challenger to the romantic tension between Charlie and Olivia, that didnt seem to get sufficiently challenged by Olivia’s sister…
She’s definitely hot enough to add some steam to the show.
There they go……. already starting to ruin what was a perfectly good show. Nothing against Meghan… but why change things so quickly, it is only season 2.
I think adding a new character, whether it’s male or female, is a mistake. The dynamics of the main characters from season one were perfect. How can you take airtime away from the already established characters? All it’s going to do is add unnecessary dialogue, petty bickering, between this new female and Olivia, wasting time that could be spent on the actual plot. We don’t want to watch trivial interactment characters! We want meaty plots with dialogues that pertain to the plots. Plus we’re losing precious airtime with the addition of more commercials. We were lucky the first season, spoiled. Our second season may not be as good. Let’s hope they keep it as good as the first and thank goodness for Tivo!!!
