Did you get the chance to watch the first act of tonight’s all-new episode?

SPOILER ALERT (Do not read ahead if you have yet to watch the first scene)

Barely 4 minutes into the episode and J.J. Abrams and his fantastic team are giving us explosions, creepy characters and doing what they do best, posing questions.

What fuels the bald man’s spicy appetite?

Was he taking notes on the construction site?  In what language?

How cool were those binoculars?!

What has arrived and who is behind this explosion?

Tonight can not come fast enough.  What are your thoughts on the opening?  Can you stomach 11 Jalapeño peppers in one sandwich?

  1. I believe the bald man-in-black ‘creature’ certainly has a high metabolism. Perhaps he is a Reticulan ?… I love eating jalapenos for a rush … maybe he eats them for a habitual rush right before he ‘observes’ …

  2. Maybe The Observer cannot taste much because his body is over-exsposed to magnetism or overstimulated by a dark matter radical ion that seperates his consciousness from his flesh. I hope Olivia finds out for us to report on it…

  3. This was the first epsoide I saw, but it was really good. I am a fan for life! Josh is Hot!

  4. I think this is the episode where Fringe hit its groove.

  5. who is the bald guy? Is fringe going to be the new X files. Is it going to be all about aliens? This show is great!

  6. I saw it. I like what I saw. Very good, it kept both me and my hubby glued (well him, I was getting ready for work so I couldn’t sit still and watch every single second of it.

Well, he tells Bishop he can’t taste much of anything so I think he uses that much peppers to get some kick out of what his eating. If you think about it, where’s the pleasure of eating without taste ;)

I bet he was taking notes on what was gonna happen. You know he seems to know when disaster is going to strike. Read up on the character bio, it’s interesting. I think he’s using some sort of alien language.

And yes the binoculars were way cool.

C’mon how are we supposed to know at this point what or who has arrived, that’s the point of getting you hooked. I’m sure we’ll learn who’s behind the explosion.

And no, I can’t even stomach one pepper let alone 11. And I’m Mexican OK! That’s just insane

  7. I’ve watched this show from the start. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to all the hype or not, but it has pleasantly surprised and surpassed my expectations. I am a fan of x-files, supernatural and heroes. All of these shows take on an element of the supernatural. This show is more like x-files in that it explores it from the aspect of science. However, I am not sure at the end of this season that our “bad guys” are going to be aliens at all.

  8. I believe he processes information in terms of sound frequencies. He converts everything into pure mathematical probabilities via Fourier analysis. He does not taste, he used three forms of hot pepper as a trigonometric expression of heat propogation. All he has to do is hear someone’s voice to determine what their next thought will be.

  9. The O is obviously reporting to someone via cell phone… his suit and tie seems old-fashioned but i guess he’s not aging either… he’s writing in a cryptic language but his mild manners (great tipper too) makes him human… he can’t taste or feel and needs binoculars to see far so maybe he’s a product of some sort of scientific experiments… yes, the opening was good but the rest of the storyline leaves little interest

  10. I have a few questions about “The Observer”…

Walter mentioned to Peter that the Observer pulled them out of the water from their accident. What was the Observer doing at the same spot at the same time?
Why did the Observer shoot Peter in the cemetery if he knew who he was?

  11. Spicy appetite is a rip off from ROSWELL. They always had to have Tobbasco sauce because their alient taste buds were not compatible with human foods. Without extreme spices, they wouldn’t be able to taste much when eating Earth food.

  12. The observer is a creepy guy but he seems to have been watching Peter and Walter since Peter was a boy. I think that we will be seeing a lot more of him, I am not so sure about the cliche hot foods thing but maybe it will lead to more than him being an alien.

So far great show its like a movie to watch and great move on fringe will return in 60 seconds I know exactly how long I have on break to get back and not miss a moment.

  13. stop trying to act so smart, the answer will get deep but not that deep. you need to remember the show is written by hollywood, not scientists.

One thing I know is Broyles (the black boss) still has a lot of secrets and i’m pretty sure he’s going to end up being a bad guy.

  14. Agent Scott is back because he was rewired after death. Maybe that’s who the bald guy is, an earlier version of Scott. The reason why he can’t taste anything is that he’s not really alive any more. It is more of a pretense of eating rather than need. Machines don’t need food.

  15. Peter (LoL coincidence )

When i forst saw it I thought alien then i sort of thought an ancient language , I’v been a fan since episode one just ahve to say GREAT JOB keep em coming ! plus the bald dude seemed to know Walter and Peter.

  16. My first thought was to the Roswell tv show. The aliens at spicy hot sauce because human food was dull to their tastes. Maybe it was the same with this ‘bald man’.

  17. Did you get the chance to watch the first act of tonight’s all-new episode?
    >>>Yes and it was the best epi by far!

    >>>> I am loving every minute of it!!! *Giggles with delight!* Gimme Gimme More.

What fuels the bald man’s spicy appetite?
    >>>>Perhaps he’s got no taste receptors like that of normal ‘people’. Maybe it was simple as mimicing human functions, or… it could be to fuel himself in some way, maybe with capsicum? The endless questions!!!

Was he taking notes on the construction site? In what language?
    >>>>I think he was recording into a journal of some sorts. Perhaps it was notes, maybe it was something he was ‘compelled’ to inscribe by another unseen force/entity.

    How cool were those binoculars?!
    >>>> I want a pair, tyvm. (Heck I’d even settle for the prop used on the show! haha!)

What has arrived and who is behind this explosion?
    >>>> The ‘missile’ like iridium object!, I think it’s a group that has yet to be named.

Tonight can not come fast enough. What are your thoughts on the opening? Can you stomach 11 Jalapeño peppers in one sandwich?
    >>>> Yes I can, and I love spicy foods! (That’s what happens when you grow up in So Cali, you appreciate those authentic mexican dishes!)
Yeah, I know this is a terribly late response, but I only just noticed this… GO see my fan art on the Fringe Wiki ‘Fan Art Collage’ section.
