After college, he joined the Beverly Hills Playhouse and has been working steadily ever since. His television credits include a series regular on “Becker,” guest appearances on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Spin City” and a role in the telefilm “Columbo: Columbo Likes the Nightlife.” On stage, he has appeared in productions of “The Midnight Zone,” “Something Borrowed Something Blue,” “Romancing Valentino,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Hurlyburly” and “Guys and Dolls.”

A native of San Juan Capistrano, CA, Garcia resides in Los Angeles.

Famed Alcatraz historian and book author, he also owns comic book store and draws his own comics.

Doc’s got a big heart and a big brain. With PhDs. in criminal justice and civil war history, he’s also got a fascination with Alcatraz.  He’s written four books on the prison and its inmates, which line the shelves of Doc’s comics – a store he owns where he can indulge his other passion – superheroes.  Doc had his own tragedy early in life – he was the victim of a crime that forever changed him, and, in a sense, unleashed his own “superpowers” – that he deals with as he works on the task force – a job that both challenges and enables him to face his fears. Chasing Alcatraz inmates who have mysteriously come back to life is the collision of two worlds he’s fascinated by: Alcatraz, and Comics. Question is -- is it a nightmare? Or a dream come true?
