Martha, now residing in a luxury convalescent home, is greeted by her new boyfriend, former Secret Service Agent Aaron Pierce. She grudgingly agrees to let her ex-husband, Charles Logan, come to see her when he claims it’s a national emergency. Logan asks her to call the Russian First Lady to intercede for the Americans. With Pierce’s approval, she agrees. Yet in a fit of anger, Martha stabs Logan with a kitchen knife. As Logan is taken to the hospital, she can’t understand why she is put into handcuffs by the Secret Service agents. Yet Martha sanely makes the call to the Suvarovs and convinces them to contact the Russian Consul.
